Hi all

Making this thread for those who are also losing their mind a bit on this journey, we can chat to each other and try to keep each other up and positive and afloat!

@starryx Sperm meets egg plan! You DTD every other day from CD8, up until peak day on OPK’s then DTD 3 consecutive days, off 1 day then 1 more DTD…

I’ll be anxiously waiting your update later, hope it’s good news!!!

@Roseberry22 i’ve had this before, I had empty circle for 9 days (maybe even 10 can’t remember!) it was driving me MAD! Then got flashing smiley for 3 days, I did ovulate that month but CD19 which was late for me as usually ovulate CD13. I know the empty circles are so annoying but i’d continue testing to be honest as you could ovulate late! xx

The blank circle is so disheartening especially when I know I’d usually have ovulated by now, will keep tracking with cheap LH tests until I either ovulate or AF arrives.

@starryx ah congratulations your times finally here!! Wishing you all the luck for your pregnancy x

Blueskycat · 16/04/2024 08:24

Sadly AF arrived this morning so I'm out this month... feels strange reaching the month 12 mark, not an anniversary that I wanted to get to!! And I'm gutted we won't be having a 2024 baby now...

Still we've got investigations underway now so maybe we'll get some answers... I don't feel hopeful today but im going to let myself wallow for my period days.

Hope it's better news for everyone else this cycle!

Roseberry22 · 16/04/2024 09:34

@Blueskycat im so sorry AF has arrived, I know no words will bring reassurance today especially as you reach the 12 month mark but sending you a big hug and enjoy a day or so wallowing. Fingers crossed for you going into the next cycle and that it will be your turn for a BFP soon. If you don’t mind me asking have you gone for tests at 12 months or did you instigate this before?

CD24 here and still no positive LH, officially going my longest cycle yet. I usually ovulate around CD18 so either it’s going to be really late or an anovulatory cycle. This is our 11 month TTC so I was so hopeful we’d get a BFP from this or next cycle so it’s so deflating knowing we might not even get to try this cycle.

GreenPickle · 16/04/2024 09:42

Can I join? 6dpo (I think - CBAD and cheapie strips were 4 days out from each other). First cycle ever. Excited but apprehensive but also hopeful all the same time 😂 thinking everything is a symptom when it's probably not! Ovulated way later than expected (CD20 according to cheapies). Now just waiting to test with a FRER on Friday and onwards!

Adamsapple89 · 16/04/2024 10:13

Congratulations @starryx amazing news! Gives me hope seeing your BFP. Not been very active as feeling very meh about the ttc. Sorry to hear you’re at 12 months+ now @Blueskycat but on a positive spin you can now get some help and that means you’re a step closer 💕

Sounds about right @GreenPickle my first month I was convinced everything was a symptom 😅 but you never know this could be it for you 🤞🏻

gonegrl · 16/04/2024 11:43

Can I join? Trying for baby number 2, currently in fertile window of first cycle of trying. First was conceived on second cycle and I'm really nervous we won't get that lucky second time around.

Blueskycat · 16/04/2024 11:47

Thanks @Roseberry22 for your lovely words, and really sorry to hear about your wait for ovulation... has it happened before? The standard TWW is bad enough without adding ovulation uncertainty into the mix!! I really hope you get a chance to try this cycle... it's hard approaching the 12 month mark ☹️

We started the ball rolling with tests a few weeks ago- I've had my NHS blood tests (FSH is a bit high sadly but no other issues, haven't had the day 21 progesterone/ovulation test back yet), my husband is waiting for an appt for SA.

Also booked in for some private tests in a couple of weeks- AMH & ultrasound for me, and they'll do another SA for my husband.

@Adamsapple89 thank you, sorry you're feeling meh about it all atm 💕

Roseberry22 · 16/04/2024 15:34

@Blueskycat it’s never happened before, I’ve always managed to confirm ovulation via Lh test and then BBT rise for the last 10 months. I think I will reach out to the doctors next month if we’re not successful in the next cycle. I did a health check though randox health and all my results came back generally ok apart from my prolactin which seemed high, I’ve not done a 21 day test yet but suspect it would show low progesterone but that’s just me guessing!

Did the NHS recommend the private tests or is that something you’ve decided to do?

@Adamsapple89 sorry to hear you’re not feeling the best, the best thing is everyone here fully understands how difficult it can be. Hoping you’re feeling better soon x

Blueskycat · 17/04/2024 09:05

@Roseberry22 ah ok, sounds like this cycle is just a blip as you've had all the signs of ovulating regularly up until now. Frustrating though! Good that you've had a health check which looked ok too.

We just booked the private tests as they do everything at once rather than one test at a time & I was feeling fed up of waiting!! But to be honest the GP has been quite quick too so probably wasn't necessary. Hoping that you get your BFP next month and can avoid it all though 🤞🏽

Welcome @gonegrl, hoping it happens quickly for you again for baby number 2!

Blueskycat · 17/04/2024 09:06

And welcome @GreenPickle ! Hope it happens quickly for you too

OliveTurtle · 17/04/2024 19:51

Hi everyone! Just sat here overthinking things like you do…
do you think if I’m having sex 3 times across alternate days in the fertile window I can consider that I’m actively trying to conceive? Sometimes when I hear of people doing it every day I think that’s where I’m going wrong/the reason I’m not yet pregnant but this approach just wouldn’t work for my other half. Going into month 9 ttc now aged 32 xxx

Roseberry22 · 17/04/2024 22:15

@OliveTurtle i think this sometimes especially when DH doesn’t want to BD 2 days in a row but honestly I think 3 times is enough over the fertile window. The NHS recommend every 2-3 days to be actively trying so 3 times in the fertile week should be plenty! I’ve got everything crossed for you and your BFP will come, I’ve heard BD every day is no good for the little swimmers so I think if you try every other day and try using OPKs if you’re not already?

moosey89 · 18/04/2024 10:30

@OliveTurtleyes that definitely counts as trying - even knowingly dtd once in your fertile window is actively trying, even if not the most optimal.

I keep reading studies that say every other day is best, as if you dtd ever day the man hasn't generated more individual sperm, the semen is just more liquid less swimmers. So you end up with basically the same quantity of sperm whether you dtd every day or every other day!

OliveTurtle · 18/04/2024 17:14

@Roseberry22 thank you! That’s really reassuring! I guess I’m just overthinking that fact that I haven’t yet conceived. I am now using ovulation trackers and have been doing since December but prior to this I was just going by flo’s predictions.

@moosey89 ah thank you very much! That does put my mind at ease. Guess we will just keep going and keep positive!!! X

Hi all

Making this thread for those who are also losing their mind a bit on this journey, we can chat to each other and try to keep each other up and positive and afloat!

Aw thinking of you, such a weird and frustrating part of life! Sending lots of baby dust! Im on my 4th cycle after having a medical terminal at 23 weeks due to placental issues. I fell pregnant on my second cycle first time round. Seem to be having infections when trying at the moment which are frustrating and impossible to get diagnosed!❤️

SWeal · 24/04/2024 20:04

@OliveTurtle Sorry AF arrived. CD1 is always the most disheartening day ☹️ I’m having period pains so already know i’m out this month, not due on for another 8 days but atleast I won’t have all the symptom spotting now. I’m going to book in to see my GP this month just for some bloods to be checked. Also doing acupuncture again in 2 weeks xx

Blueskycat · 25/04/2024 07:46

Ahh congrats @Adamsapple89 !! Lovely news, how are you feeling?

Sorry to hear the stress is continuing @starryx !! I guess when you've been waiting a little while there's a lot of emotions around... plus pregnancy hormones 🙈

@OliveTurtle ugh cd1 really is the worst ☹️ So much disappointment and the period symptoms feel like they're adding insult to injury!! Hope you can take it easy/give yourself a little treat today.

I've got a private fertility appt later today where we'll find out AMH & my partner's SA results... so feeling nervous.

Also had the results back from GP bloods, which weren't promising (FSH a bit high, day 21 progesterone not high enough to confirm ovulation) although haven't discussed them with the GP yet (that's next week). I don't think I did the progesterone one on the right day (it's supposed to be 7 DPO and I did it at 9DPO). Maybe I'm clutching at straws tho...
