Hi all

Making this thread for those who are also losing their mind a bit on this journey, we can chat to each other and try to keep each other up and positive and afloat!

I’d love to join, to help keep me sane!!

TTC baby#3, currently on cycle 7. Had acupuncture this afternoon, i’ve been having regular fertility massages but decided to try acupuncture this month!

Baby dust to everyone xxx

Welcome! And oo heard of fertility massages but never looked into it. Is it worthwhile? Xx

I feel like I’m overthinking it on month 8 as many of my friends seem to have either ‘accidentally’ become pregnant or have only taken 3/4 months. I rarely hear about much in between 3 months or taking a few years with medical intervention. Do you recommend acupuncture? This might be something to look into to make me feel proactive in this lonely/seemingly long journey!! X

bravotango · 11/04/2024 09:22

May I join? I'm on CD4 of my second cycle TTC. We have an 18m old DS who took 19 cycles to conceive...We were patients at a fertility clinic (diagnosis of unexplained infertility) when we conceived naturally! The month we conceived, we DTD every other day from CDs 7-20 and I stuck my legs up in the air against the wall after Grin maybe TMI! Anecdotally I am one of 3 mums I know who conceived naturally the month of their first fertility clinic appointment, and a couple of friends who took more than 1 year to conceive their first baby conceived very quickly second time round so I'm crossing fingers for a faster journey this time haha.

bravotango · 11/04/2024 09:23

Really interested to hear peoples experiences of fertility massages and acupuncture! Not something I tried last time but open minded this time!

Adamsapple89 · 11/04/2024 10:05

I’ve had acupuncture, found it quite painful and not relaxing so only had 2 sessions, still not pregnant of course but I have heard other positive stories around it

Of course welcome! And damn the timing to get pregnant when you join a clinic. But good luck you to you!! And yeah there's a few it takes a year. On month 8 about to hit month 9 as CD29 .. I really hope it doesn't take up to a year :( I'm hoping it's sooner.

I ain't even tested yet lol, my flo is showing 3 days as my cycles are a bit hit and miss between 29-33 days :( I eat good and do light exercise. But that's after coming off the pill last year I guess.

@starryx @OliveTurtle

I loved my fertility massages, so relaxing and they help to soften my stomach. I was very congested around my uterus and c-section scar (had 2 sections in 12 months).
I also really enjoyed acupuncture yesterday, found it really relaxing. I know 5 people that have fallen pregnant following fertility massage, i don’t know anyone else that’s had acupuncture but my therapists reviews are excellent. He specialises in fertility and has a wealth of knowledge around it!

To be honest, I don’t know if any of it ‘works’ as such but I find it relaxing and have to feel like i’m doing something otherwise I go out of my mind whilst waiting for AF to leave!! xx

SWeal · 11/04/2024 13:01

@OliveTurtle Many of my friends have taken 5months+ to fall pregnant. Some are 8 months, some are 12 months! And they all were trying for second/third babies.

Don’t get me wrong, one of my best friends just washes her husbands pants and falls pregnant and she has 4 children now. But it is normal to take anywhere up to and sometimes over a year xx

OliveTurtle · 11/04/2024 13:17

Thank you! Part of me wonders whether we should be having sex more often but aiming for every other day in fertile week! My OH struggles with any more than this. Do you think this means accepting it may take longer? Thank you! ❤️

It's hard seeing people with young children and thinking damn... wish that was me. I do have step children and love them dearly but they are older. I want to have the newborn stage. The toddler stage. I just want it all ❤️ hopefully soon

@OliveTurtle Me and my partner have been DTD every single day (sometimes twice a day!) during my fertile window and i’m on cycle 7 - i’m trying once every other day this month or SMEP. It’s so hard to know what the right thing to do is isn’t it!

I think if it gets to 12 months then definitely speak to your GP for some bloods mid-cycle and maybe an ultrasound. It’s so hard not to panic isn’t it :( But i’m trying to stay optimistic and holding off speaking to my GP just yet.

I’ve also been doing castor oil compress at home, I buy Naissance castor oil from Amazon, use a flannel or muslin cloth, soak it in the oil and lay it over your uterus with a hot water bottle on it, lay for 30-60mins listening to some relaxing music or meditation. Sounds insane but it’s so relaxing and helps you to destress! I only do it CD1 to CD9/10, shouldn’t do it going into ovulation xx

Yeah same here basically almost daily dtd and cycle 8 about to hit into cycle 9. You hear stories of people who dtd once in their fertile window and end up conciveing!! Sperm lives for 5 days.

As long as you do it at least once in your fertile window I think you're fine :)

Ooh interesting thanks for sharing! Will give this a go. When we were TTC before we went through a renovation, new.job, pandemic, wedding, all finished in Jan 2022 and I got pregnant next cycle - they say stress is the enemy of conception which certainly was true for us so if a.massage has relaxing effects that can only be a good thing!

SWeal · 12/04/2024 09:22

@starryx I’m CD7 today! How about you?

Tracey36 · 12/04/2024 14:54

Hey ladies. Hope u don't mind me jumping on this thread. Been TTC rainbow baby for 10 months now. This is my 1st month using the Clearblue fertility monitor. I got my first peak today after 5 high days. DH has low sperm count so would usually dtd every other day.. but didn't want to miss my peak ovulation day,so we've dtd two mornings in a row. Now I'm worried it didn't have time to build up enough! Sending u all baby dust and good luck this month!

CD31 today.. not tested yet. Had minor like cramps past few days. Woke up and my breast feel much bigger and tender. So not sure whether to expect af or having to test soon lol as.

Thanku. It's gets more and more disheartening every month. I'm considering ditching the monitor. It's just driven me insane and it's only month 1. I'm constantly googling and symptom spotting. starryx they could all be positive symptoms. U never know! It only takes one sticky little bean. I wish u all the best of luck.

It does definitely get more heartbreaking every test. And getting symptoms which could be pregnancy then ends up being af :(. That's why I'm not getting my hopes up too high at the moment. The bigger breast thing is unusual for me but just could be hormone flucation.. I'll keep you posted anyway and if you keep my posted too on how you get on 😊
