Hello ladies,
I think there is research which links weight/BMI with infertility and obstetric difficulties.

As far as I'm aware BMI breaks down as:
normal weight (BMI 18.5-24.9)
overweight (BMI 25-29.9)
obese (BMI>30)

Underweight women have similar problems with infertility so it presumably affects either extreme.

I know if I drop below a certain weight I don't ovulate, part of the reason we think it took so long ttc1 because my BMI was 17 at the time.

I've always wanted to try Reflexology.

Has anyone else noticed feeling ill just prior to AF? I regularly have a day or two feeling flu-like with aching muscles, headache, queasiness and generally feeling washed out. Two days later AF.

Or is it just me...

Orchidgirl - I sometimes get queasy before my period... but washed-out and achey is saved for during - just to add insult to injury.

Lottie - love your soapbox rants ... and you are, of course, totally right, I should get the most out of my reflexology session - I just don't know that I can face telling her about trying to conceive. I know she would keep everything confidential, it's just I am furiously private, and hate people knowing. I wish I hadn't even told my mum now! How about suggesting that I had read that reflexology was good for pre-conception? I could lie and say that we are thinking about trying, and would it be a good idea to get balanced? I do wonder about seeing someone else... but it seems a shame to not give her my business.

I think I am going to need acupuncture to get over the stress of lying to my reflexologist

There's a lady at work who's been trying to convince me to try reflexology for my PCOS for years! I think I'm finally gonna do it when we move up to Warrington. The fitness centre near us there has a qualified nurse who also does reflexology, reiki, sports massage, etc. The prices seemed really reasonable.

Oh we bought a car today! It would be very nice to put babies in. . .

Lottie, I hope we haven't jinxed anything! I tried very hard not to even think about kids when deciding what to buy. Just went for the features we knew we wanted: cruise control, automatic transmission, and big enough so DP doesn't bash his head getting in or get a cramp in his long legs. Once we figured in our budget, there were only two cars left, and after ruling one out due to reliability problems, we were left with the Citroen C4. And it just happens to be a 5 door hatchback with a big (pram-ready) boot, child seat thingys, and a 5 star safety rating. . . not that any of that crossed my mind....nope....not me....

Sounds very nice Sarah

I have a very non-sensible car that I decided I was going to sell when we found out I was pregnant. Even after the mc I wanted to sell as I figured by the time this summer came around and I would want to use it again I would be huge! Glad I kept it now LOL.

Morning girls....I have never had such low temps and no idea of ovulation - I should be due on today - ish!!!! Off on holiday tomorrow - yes I know I am always going away! Off to sunshine for 12 days! I wonder if the accupuncture screwed my cycle up?!
Ready no harm in telling the reflexologist about reflexology as they will be able to work more on the fertility parts e.g. your ovaries and also to show you where to massage too...
must dash will catch up later !

Temp has risen a bit headache has returned tho'

Lottie are you are northerner? You used to words which made me think you might be, 'nowt' & 'bairn'. I would use those words and they're very northern

Ready I wouldn't tell the reflexologist for your 1st session, see how good she is
She will be able to feel if there's a blockage and will mention that to you anyway for you to confirm whether you suffer from a problem or not.
If you feel comfortable enough to go back maybe tell her then about any specific issues.
When I see clients for Reiki I don't ask them what's wrong, just normally what made them think of Reiki, but that's purely because that info helps me with my practice.
I'll feel where there is a problem during the session. hth

Morning everyone

NappyValley · 02/04/2008 13:07

Hi all forgot to temp before being ordered out of bed by DS to "Get Milk NOW mummy". Followed by a "please" after a rather withering look from me!

I am away for the next week doing various training stuff/road trip - Southampton - Lytham - Scarborough - Halifax - Southampton

Loving all these new cars, although FYM make sure you test it or get it RAC checked before parting with the cash!

We still have a Citroen Berligo which we bought 3 yrs B4 DS turned up, but have to say the sliding doors are brilliant. Graceful, powerful and aerodynamic it is NOT, but roomy and practical YES. Make sure you test the ability to leap from passenger seat to back seat while doing 80 on a motorway to change babies nappy on long journey!!!

Speaking of babies, don't think there are any down here this month. hardly surprising, only got round to BD once!!!!!!!

Starting to give up hope really.

Love the idea of getting the reflexologist to sense the areas. very good!!

I had a massage yesterday which was lovely!

Hoping for lots of BFPs very soon from you girlies. Baby dust and bamboo ceremonies galore!
