Thought I’d make a new thread for those of us Ttc in May 2024. I know some of us will cross over from end of April to May ! Wishing everyone all the luck ✨❤️

Can I join please? TTc baby number 3. Had chemicals in January and March, now on CD9 after the chemical. Hoping that this is our month! X

RW269 · 08/04/2024 09:29

@Herewegoagain0 So sorry to hear about your chemicals! Got everything crossed this is the month for you!! 🤞x

@RW269 nice to see you but also sorry you’re on another thread ☹️.

I also started one not realising there’s one going!

RW269 · 08/04/2024 11:09

@YaWeeFurryBastard Ahh they’re quite hard to find aren’t they! Same for you :(
im kind of half on the thread tbh I thought I came on yesterday and made the thread in a huff but then it went after like an hour so who knows!

Hello! I was really excited to see this because I am coming off the pill next month to start trying for baby no.2. So really I guess I will be TTC in June when I will hopefully ovulate but it feels like I am starting the process in May! I got pregnant really quickly with my first and so I am really hoping it'll be easy for us again, but obviously I know that is not always the case. My daughter is going to be one this month and we've always wanted them close together so fingers crossed!

RW269 · 08/04/2024 16:25

@imy how exciting! Got everything crossed for you! 😊✨ you’ll likely meet a few people Ttc in May threads who will follow over to June (hopefully as few as possible as we want all the bfp !) so you’ll at least get to have some familiar names maybe :)

Hi all, thanks for the new thread. Could someone please give me their opinion on my ovulation date. I have long cycles and have been doing opk tests daily this month. This has lead to a strange pattern of multiple positive ovulations. Fitbit says period should start today. Still nothing so I’m clinging to hope that the 3 day peak last week was it (we dtd plenty around then). Or do you think that’s likely af on the way?

yellow is positive opk.

@maybemumtobe this is really confusing. One thought I had was whether you had exercised prior to taking some of those OPKs? I would get a false positive after exercising and I googled it and found it was actually a known thing.

satsumaqueen · 12/04/2024 18:26

Hi All, I was on the last thread but it’s full so I’ve come to this one which makes more sense as I am due to ovulate in the next few days.

Im currently TTC #2 - this is my 5th month of trying. I never used any ovulation trackers with my first as we fell pregnant first time (totally took that for granted). Last month I used the clear blue purple ovulation stick with the smiley faces and after seeing alot of people on here using the easy@home strips I thought I would get those as well to try this month alongside clear blue just to be sure it was correct.

Can anyone help me with these results please? The first two at the top I took first thing in the morning Tuesday and Wednesday this week the day after I finished my period, presumed it would be the same as clear blue, but my husband asked to read through the leaflet that evening and he then showed me it said I should be testing between 10am - 8pm instead. I did that yesterday at work (didn’t drink anything for 2 hours before like it said) and the line was so faint in comparison to the previous two. Decided to try it again this morning just to see what happened and the T/C ratio shot up which is in line with clear blue as I got my first flashing smiley face today.

When am I supposed to be doing these test strips lol? I’m not sure I’m using them properly!

@maybemumtobe not sure if you are using a app or it’s just the calendar on your phone, but have you got the flo or Premom app at all? If you put all your period dates in it will predict your ovulation date. Might be worth doing to see if it lines up with any of the tests you’ve been doing, so you can use that as a guide?

Hey thanks for the idea. I wish I could say I’ve been exercising but I’ve not at all. I’ve still not come on so let’s see..!

Hey, thanks for the message. Yeah I use Fitbit which does exactly that. Only thing it does though is change the suggested ovulation date when you put your own in (which I do after positive opk). I’ve still not had my period so I’m clinging to hope but also refuse to test for another few days as I have previously had a chemical and it’s really heartbreaking to see a bfp turn into a period.

Afraid I have no pearls of wisdom but wanted to say thanks as I have never heard of this before and if it’s true then I must have been doing mine all wrong!

With the clear blue ones, how many do you get in a pack? I think I might use them next cycle if unsuccessful but my cycles are so long I’m guessing it would cost a fortune.

Yeah I was a bit suprised I have to say. I’m definitely not a expert and it’s all gone over my head to be honest, but it said that the hormone it detects doesn’t start to build until 10am, but in my case it sees to be the other way round.

you can get a 10pk or 20pk in boots. I managed to get the 20pk on an advantage card price For only £5 more than the 10pk so I’ve been able to get 2 months from the one pack. How long are your cycles? Mine has been 33 the last few months and I started testing the clear blue from the 2nd day after my period stopped. I’ve found I tend to do 3 tests and then on the 4th day I get a flashing smiley face.

Ok great I’m definitely going to get them if I’m not successful this time. My cycles are longgg and weirdly way longer since having my daughter. 35-40 days approx but they do vary. I have pcos. Like you, we conceived on 1st cycle last time and have now been trying since around October so a while. Urgh. Just want it to happen now!

TTC1990 · 20/04/2024 14:11

Hey,

On to cycle 5 TTC! Is this thread still active? If not, could someone point me in the right direction please. Need some people in the same boat for a bit of moral support. Thanks!! X

YaWeeFurryBastard · 20/04/2024 19:26

I’m still here 👋🏼. Cycle 4 for us ttc our first, CD16 today and ovulated today, I’m not drinking at all this month so I really hope this is our month. Another distant friend announced her second pregnancy today and it’s very hard not to get jealous!

TTC1990 · 20/04/2024 22:29

Oh hey @YaWeeFurryBastard ! Let me know how you get on and fingers crossed! I’m only CD3 so a little while to go. We are off to Rome over the ‘fertile window’ though, so really hoping we can relax and it’ll happen! X

TryTheNight · 22/04/2024 06:02

I was wondering if the thread moved because it was so quiet. I'm still in the April one because I still technically have a chance despite AF showing up on April Fool's Day.

So.... 10 days DPO (next Saturday) is when I'll be hosting a baby shower for my sister. AF is probably due sometime around there, too. Could be a horrible weekend if AF shows up while I have to play happy host

Bb542 · 22/04/2024 06:37

Is it ok to join? Just started a new cycle after our loss in February this year. Periods are not fun after miscarriage 😩 only on CD2 for me but excited to start a new cycle 🥹

Fingers crossed for you this month and hopefully you have some happy news to make it a bit easier!

TTC1990 · 23/04/2024 06:38

Oh @TryTheNight got everything crossed for you. How are you feeling? It may be a good distraction. How long have you been trying?

@YaWeeFurryBastard how are you feeling in the TWW?

@Bb542 welcome! So sorry to hear about your loss. I heard you’re more fertile after a loss. Hope this is your sticky month!

Think it’s the last day of AF today, so ready for her to be done!

YaWeeFurryBastard · 23/04/2024 07:34

@TTC1990 not great to be honest 😂☹️ gearing up for another disappointment. It’s the not knowing and false hope I find really hard. How are you getting on?

TTC1990 · 23/04/2024 07:44

Ah I feel you @YaWeeFurryBastard ! I find the TWW the hardest because it’s completely out of your control. I also find I can be productive in a sense in the lead up by OPK testing but then it feels weird to going to just ‘waiting’. Will you test early?

Not too bad here. I have a Hen do in Edinburgh this weekend so that’ll be keeping me distracted. Then I’m back and it should be the fertile window that week. Then I’m off to Rome the following. So feel like I have a lot to keep my mind off things! Reckon my mood will come crashing down when back…
