So I have recently come off the mini pill, had my withdrawal bleed then 34 days and a period. I then had a 43 day cycle.

I did a test on the day AF came (before it came) and it was a very faint line but defo a line.

Any AF came and I assumed test must have been wrong, I had medium flow AF Monday and yesterday and very light today.

I did a test just now coz i have been feeling nauseous and just wanted to make sure any line has now gone.

Well there is still a line and it's stronger than Mondays test?

I've called the doctors who have said just test again in a week , but I'm very confused and just wondering if anyone else has had this and what was the outcome ?

Just an update here (sorry it's a long one)-

So went for scan and that morning had continued to have light spotting and some pain in my left side which was fine when paracetamol was taken.

Internal scan done as I have a tiled uterus, nothing to be seen in there. Left side they saw what they suspected was an ectopic pregnancy measuring around 12mm (less than 3cm). But given the pain I had told them about was told I would need surgery that day due to the risk of rupture .

So spent the day an absolute worried mess thinking every little pain was a sign of something life threatening!

Anyway had surgery - no ectopic to be found but I do have a cyst on my left tube and this is the tube I ovulated from. They also checked my
Right and said it looked as if something small and been there but wasn't there anymore / too small to do anything or say it's ectopic . So no tubes removed.

So I have been diagnosed with PUI. My HCG levels are 400 which is too low to see anything on a scan and it needs to be 1500?? I have to go back Friday for more blood to see if it's increased / decreased etc.

I'm so very confused .... would it be possible
To ovulate from the left and have an ectopic on the right ? Why are my clear blue tests (did another yesterday showing) 2-3 weeks with HCG so low ?

I'm not overthinking now as what will be will
Be and at least I know it's not life threatening , they told me my options right now are either I have already miscarried which would explain the bleed last week and my body is holding on to HCG or it's too early to see anything and everything is fine (unlikely)

I've had no more spotting since surgery but still pain on my left side - likely caused by the cyst!

I've been on such a rollercoaster the last 24 hours it's unbelievable! And just trying to gather my thoughts !

Just keeping this updated in case anyone comes looking like I have been -

Had bloods this morning they have risen from 400 to 708 so not quite doubled as they would like.

I now have to go jack for more bloods on Sunday morning and they have said they will have a better plan by then .

I am still spotting but I don't know if this is due the surgery I had , or the cyst on my ovary or something else 😥

This limbo is horrible. Xxx

I'm sorry, the limbo is so awful. My first thought when reading your post was ectopic.

When I had mine I didn't know I was pregnant until quite late because "I had a period".

When you say cyst on tube, do you mean cyst on ovary? Your tubes aren't attached to your ovaries. About 30-40% of the time your tube will pick up an egg from the other ovary. I have one good ovary on right, and one remaining tube in left (my left ovary wasn't functioning for a while due to a massive cyst. I was told I'd still be able to get pregnant (hopefully!).

missdt89 · 23/12/2023 12:57

@Confusedddddddd this is the thing , when they scanned me they said I definitely ovulated from my left, which is where they was the cyst and definitely was on the tube they said although close to the ovary.

This is what they thought was ectopic and as I had some pain on my left side rushed me down to surgery the same day.

Got out of surgery to be told that it was a cyst and not ectopic and they are confident it will resolve itself , so didn't do anything .

My right tube they said it looked as if something very small had been there but wasn't cause for concern currently as it appeared to have resolved itself

So they have said pregnancy of unknown location , but as they've checked my tubes etc they do not think it's in there .

So currently having the HCG tests done , on Wednesday my HCG was 400 and yesterday was 708. So I have to go back tomorrow for another load of bloods .

I'm so confused by it all as literally have no idea what's going on .

Xx

Just thought I would update incase anyone ends up going through the same .

So I have now miscarried, from Boxing Day my levels had started to drop , Christmas Eve HCG was 868 and by Boxing Day had gone down to 558, they asked me to go back in on Tuesday this week where it had decreased massively again to 58. So I will go back next Tuesday for hopefully one more blood test and hopefully HCG will reach a level they can discharge me.

Thankfully the last consultant I spoke to was very helpful , as I was confused as to where the cyst was, it turns it there was not one in my
Left tube but on my left ovary , which they believe is the follicle from ovulation and nothing more .

On my right tube there was something they suspected could have been ectopic but they were not certain .

I have bled now for over 2 weeks but my
HCG is dropping so wherever the pregnancy was it is resolving itself .

I am just looking forward to starting our TTC journey again and pray for a better outcome next time xxx
