i like it!!

Kay, NJ...how have your respective days been? The weather here has been perfect so I hope you both got that

Big shout out to everyone else ...very quiet on here today?!

calsworld · 16/03/2008 20:06

Hi all, been quiet coz I've been shopping! Doesn't happen very often so get far too excited...we braved Ikea!

Got a new unit for DS' room, we have a big chest of drawers from there (this one) that we use as a change table and to store stuff in, but have been given LOADS of books so have found this drawer/shelf unit to go with it.

It looks DIVINE in his bedroom and I'm very very proud of it !

Its sad really but hey, in a house we've been doing up for the last seven years its a room that finally looks really finished.

Anyone else doing garden / home improvements?

And whilst on the subject of random questions, who of you owns pets? We have a dog, a 13 yr old collie called Susie, who James loves but ignores most of the time, much to Susie's relief!

AF is beginning to tire and I think may end her visit fairly soon , there will be no stopping us this month !

Have an early meeting tomorrow (8.30) but will try and drop in if I can - I've got an assistant starting tomorrow too...hmmm...promise you won't forget me!

Diege · 16/03/2008 21:22

Evening! Love the furniture Cals - v.brave of you to go to Ikea on a Sunday! I love that style, but out home iomprovements are all pending moving house.
Hi Teuch! The weather here wasn't at all perfect (clouds, rain) but we still had a good time over in Sheffield. Had the usual rants from dd2 about the journey, but had a lovely pub lunch etc, and all 3 dds very well behaved, so can't complain!
Love the new name PINK - fairydust is fine, just none of that babydust!
Looking forward to hearing about Kay and Nat's big days. A bit of ironing now, then bed as I have an extra early one tomorrow! Working from home though, so have a chance of keeping up!
Night night

MoosMa · 16/03/2008 21:36

No pets or home improvements here, although we are planning a barn conversion. My parents have a big barn on their farm that we've got our eye on to turn into a workshop and showroom for DH's furniture and a house for us. Trouble is, it will only have 3 bedrooms so DDs 1 and 2 will have to share, which has made me think about bunk beds, what do you think of this one?!

Diege · 16/03/2008 21:53

OMG Moosma that bunkbed is gorgeous (though I think there might be a few arguments over who gets the top one!)DDs 1&2 share a room now, and sleep in a bunkbed. They love it, and even if/when we move to a new house they say they would still want them as they'd feel 'lonely' in single beds, awwww, fast forward 10 years and I'll remind them of that!
Re: pets, we have a cat called Red (dds calss him 'big cat' - he's of the stomach brushing the floor variety). We did have another cat until quite recently when he decided to jump ship to a neighbour's house for far better board and lodging..They have got him a waterbed with a leopard skin throw, so I can hardly blame him. DH went round to see him a while ago and the look on his face when he saw dh standing at the foot of the waterbed was priceless!

Diege · 17/03/2008 07:13

Good morning , , (think that's it! )

I haven't got time to catch up properly yet, but just wanted to have a read through to make sure no one had announced a BFP without my knowledge!!

I hope it all went well yesterday Kay, and you all had good weekends DS1 was in his element yesterday, the weather was a mixture, kept coming over very dark, and then the next minute was sunny again, but it didn't rain so he had a good long bounce The bouncy castle is really good, I am very impressed, thought it would be like PVC type material, but it is proper tough, proper bouncy castle material! DS2 loved it as well And I also thought the air blower thingy would be really noisy, but while yes it did make a noise, it wasn't that loud, and in fact after the first minute or so, you didn't really notice it anymore, just a low hum in the back ground

Right, will be back after school run, to catch up properly xxx

kayzisbroody · 17/03/2008 09:13

Morning all,

Yesterday went well except for the pain but it was only spitting lightly really.

I didn't take any pictures, well dh didn't. I had ds and he was meant to get the camera but forgot and left it in ds's changing bag all day. So I'm going to get my mum to e-mail the ones she took.

I'm going to have to try and get to York today or tomorrow as I need to get ds some more things for his birthday. My mum is getting him a Ginea Pig to keep at her house(I secretly think it's for her)

Hope everyone is ok and had great weekends.

I'm glad ds1's birthday party went well and he enjoyed his bouncy castle Nat.

kayzisbroody · 17/03/2008 09:14

Ginea pig is a new breed of Guinea Pig!!
Duh!!!

BeMyLilBaby · 17/03/2008 09:24

kayzisbroody · 17/03/2008 09:36

I know BB, I want one but we dont have a garden so we cant. Ds will love it cos we saw some a while ago in a pet shop and he was amazed by them. He wouldn't stop watching them.

NatalieJane · 17/03/2008 09:42

Hello again

Awww Kay, did DS enjoy the attention?

FD, sorry about the BFN, but as you say, 'tis not over yet

Moosma, that bunk bed!!! I would sleep in it! You have just sparked my little voice that pops up every now and again saying 'I really want a little girl' then I think of how bankcrupt she would make us and I have a little re-think!!

Cal, we have a few home improvments planned for this year, we are hoping to put it on the market at some point this year, got to paint the outside, sort gardens/garage, a couple of rooms inside will need a coat of paint splashing on, and then I think we will be ready to sell. Oh and we have 1 cat, she has no name, she will be 3 tomorrow on DS1's birthday, thought she was 3 last year but DH worked out last night that she is 3 this year! Can you tell how much notice we take of her?!!

I have OV'ed over the weekend, and had plenty of GOF's Symptoms range from severe morning sickeness, to smelly farts Is it too early to test do you think?

Bugger, looks like they are going to be resurfacing the path outside Blokes out with a spray can.... hope it's not the same lot that did the resurfacing the other week, was one of them that asked me out that day, would be a tad embarressing.....

Oh and MIL has out done herself, DS1 is turning 6, she bought him a card with 'Happy 5th birthday' on it I know it isn't exactly important and that we should be grateful for the card (blah blah blah.....) but for pity's sake, is it so hard to remember how old he is? And he isn't a small child, as in height, did she think he was four? he's been at school for 2 years for god's sake....... Ahem, sorry, had to get it out!! Cowbag she is, I don't like her, not one bit!

NatalieJane · 17/03/2008 09:46

Forgot to say, DH's neice came over with her nearly 12 month old little boy, DS2 kept walking up to him and giving him cuddles It was soooooooooo cute Especially as he isn't the most cuddliest child in the world, you have to bribe him for a cuddle Made me wonder if he would be like that with his baby brother

DS1 said "Maybe DS2 can marry T" (T is the nearly 12 month old!)

kayzisbroody · 17/03/2008 09:47

Yes ds loved all the attention! I think he was a bit overwhelmed. He has got £115 to spread between his 5 money boxes!

Have to do it all over again on Thursday for his birthday.

Looking forward to getting my house back once my sister has gone home.

Playingthewaitinggame · 17/03/2008 09:57

Morning all,

Had a good weekend we were gardening in the pooring rain . Our garden now looks more like the battle of the Somme! Been building raised beds so basically now all we have is pile of earth (2 tons of it), lots of bits of scaffold boards, some of which are screwed together some aren't yet and a lawn that now looks like its had a rugby match played on it! Anyhow, in some perverse way it was actualyl quite fun to get muddy wet and put in soem hard physical work, good exercise anyhow.

Cosmos, long time no hear. Glad you are ok. Move forward to September then we will both be ttc in Sept!!!!!

Natalie, you are the duracel bunny.

Cal, We have exactly the same Hemnes range, our day bed and double chest of drawer are both from that range, although we bought them on ebay for half the price . Oh and pic wise, sorry couldnt see a thing. Mind you know idea what I was looking for, never had any pg friends so not got the eye for it yet!

Sure I have missed comments but the thread has moved on so much from Fri that by the time I have read it I have forgotten half of it!

Hi to everyone else!!!

Diege · 17/03/2008 09:58

Sounds like a great party Nat, though at your MIL!! What was her excuse? Very odd . LOL at flirty workman possibly resurfacing your pavement That would be sooo funny (for us!). I am also slighly concerned that your cat has no name - we must name her for you! Maybe something easy to remeber - Fanjo? Gof-fy??? . Excellent with GOFing too - so you're on the 2ww now? How exciting!!
Kay, how long is your sister staying for? I find I get to about 3 days with with family and I start to get bit 'irritable' with them ..then really miss them when they are gone!
Right, better get some 'work' work done. So hard to get motivated when the sun is shining outside and tv is on!

Playingthewaitinggame · 17/03/2008 09:58

Oh and I meant to say, glad the christening went well Kay

Diege · 17/03/2008 09:59

Hi Playing! Can just imagine your garden from your description! Glad you had fun though

NatalieJane · 17/03/2008 10:07

MIL's excuse, she didn't have one really, just said "I thought he was going to be 5" If it was that she didn't see him very often, and had loads of other kids to think about I could understand, but we are there every sodding weekend, and although she does have about 17/18 grandkids, and about 3 great grandkids, there is only 5 of them young enough (in her book) to warrent a card and a fiver, and 2 of them she rarely sees (is only our two boys, and the 12 month old that was here yesterday that she has regular contact with)

GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR cowbag

LOL It does make me feel better! LOL And I very very very rarely call anyone names but she deserves, I don't like her!! I have said that haven't I?!! LOL

The cat is staying nameless, I think we did give her name when we first picked her up, but IME cat's never answer to names, so didn't see the point in calling her anything, she is just "cat" LOL Can't even remember the name we gave her now LOL

NatalieJane · 17/03/2008 10:10

LOLOLOLOL just got a vision of me outside the back door at 11 o'clock at night calling 'Fanjo, come on Fanjo' LOL think I'll stick with the tut tut tut sound!

Playingthewaitinggame · 17/03/2008 10:18

Our cat is called Smirnoff. Twas a joke down the pub and it kinds stuck. Is very funny calling that one in the garden!

BigTeuchLittleTeuch · 17/03/2008 11:02

No pets for us unless you count working dog...oh, and 30 cows, 300 sheep, 10 hens and 9 ducks!!

Bloody, b@st@rding washing machine has died...thankfully got all laundry done for going away but do you know how difficult it is to get a bloody machine delivered here??!! Meh...dirty farms cannot do without a washing machine for more than a day or two...

On the plus side, our new bathroom is going in whilst we are away . Hurrah!!

Glad all the celebrations and visits went well. I'm off to load the car up. Catch you later!
