3 years trying, I can’t believe it - line eyes!

I have been on this board for over 3 years, and have watched with joy other line eyes threads hoping it will be me one day.

I had this this morning!! I cannot believe my eyes. I’m around 11dpo, and I can’t believe how strong it is.

3 years of trying, one round of IVF in Jan this year, and it’s actually happened.

I have never had a BFP, ever! I’ve never uttered the words, I’ve never let myself think it could be true, as I’ve had so many blank tests and failed months.

This gives me so much hope. If you’re struggling, hang in there. I am proof it can happen.

Hi OP
I can tell you're absolutely on cloud 9 so congratulations!
You mentioned taking folic acid - I was provided with folic acid tablets at my booking appointment with my midwife and took one everyday throughout my pregnancy with DD (who will be 2 next week!)
Have you referred yourself to local midwives and arranged a booking appointment? Given your journey re. IVF, would you also be able to book an early scan (7 weeks maybe) before your standard dating scan?

Sorry if this just adds to your anxiety! Just some practical things to do that are an exciting (but important) part of these early pregnancy days.

Again, a huge congratulations!

Thank you for the practical advice!
I do have folic acid to take so I’ll be much more consistent with that now. I’ve also just ordered another batch to see me through.

I was thinking about the early scan, I’ll definitely want this. I don’t know if the private clinic I went to for my IVF will do it? Obviously for a fee, but I will contact them to ask.

I don’t even know how to refer myself to the midwives! I will look into that and perhaps do it next week, once I’ve taken one more test to settle my nerves. I also ordered the weeks indicator tests with my folic acid, just so I can see the progression!!

Thank you for the congrats! To everyone! ❤️❤️

Don't be like me @whomoon when I splurged on the expensive digital weeks test. I was shaking so much I peed on my hand, dropped it down the loo and then had to fish it with some kitchen tongs (got thrown away).

This made me laugh so much!! Money down the drain or what!?
I’m a dab hand at taking tests. I have my very own wee pot to dip tests into to avoid such incidents… lol!

Oh OP this has made me well up for you! We tried for 3 years and had a failed round of IVF and then by some miracle I got pregnant naturally. That baby is 12 now and has an 11 year old sibling!

Congratulations lovely and wishing you a happy and healthy pregnancy ❤️

Such lovely news!!!

And have I read it right that you had a failed IVF attempt earlier this year and now this pregnancy is a natural conception? Sorry if I have misunderstood.

But however this baby came to be is absolutely amazing and I’m so so happy for you. I would be crying buckets too!!

Ive had a rough few weeks with my health lately (not pregnancy related) and I’ve felt quite low but your post has put such a big smile on my face!!!

Congratulations 🎉🎉

charliebelle · 21/11/2023 11:32

Thank you so much!!

Yes that’s right. We had a failed round of IVF in Jan. The fresh transfer didn’t take and we put our second and last embryo in the freezer.

We wanted to take the rest of the year to try naturally, relax, go on holiday and put TTC to the back of our minds. I also had a HyCosy in September which showed up clear, but that means it could be related to that as this is my third cycle after it and I had read success rates increase after a HyCosy. I am proof of that!

I was going to email the clinic this week to get the ball rolling for the frozen embryo transfer in Jan 2024. I can’t believe I am now one of the success stories who falls pregnant naturally after IVF!

Keep going! You will certainly get there. Everything I could say you will have definitely heard already, but I really found that enjoying life in the present helped so much. Continue to make plans, enjoy your hobbies, enjoy your relationship.
I don’t even know how many cycles 3 years is. But, this is just how it’s happened and it’s happened now, and I wouldn’t have changed it to sooner or anything.
Wishing you so much luck xx
