I think I'm finally going to get my peak today 🙌🏽 it's so annoying because we DTD at the beginning of the week because I thought I was supposed to ovulate a couple of days ago, none in the middle as we were both not feeling well & we have friends staying tomorrow so I'll only have tonight, I'm not sure of my chances this month 😔

I'm the same 😂 flo app said I was going to ovulate on Tuesday but finally got a static smiley face on clear blue this morning! I had a feeling last night as I had a bit of niggly pain and then felt so bloated this morning 😩

We dtd last night, should we try again tonight and tomorrow or will last night and tonight be enough? 🤔

Dreading the tww as I'm the most impatient person ever!!

MrsHousePlant · 27/10/2023 13:09

@wanderlustre sending good thoughts and support your way. It really is so hard sometimes. I hope you’re able to take some time for yourself over the busy Christmas period. There are so many twists, turns and emotions in the TTC journey that I don’t think many of us feel well prepared for. Thinking of you 💕

Outliers · 27/10/2023 13:31

CD8 - still coming off AF (which was oddly 7days early) - so doubt I'm close to ovulating, but will start testing more regularly.

DTD after a wedding yday, not that it matters at this stage.

Hello can I join the thread?
AF arrived in full force today so I am out for October.

I am 33 and trying for first baby. Only stopped mini pill on 30th September, started tracking with easy@home ovulation sticks straight away and thought I ovulated on the 15th Oct (only discovered the app where it could read the strips a bit later so not 100% but had ovulation pains and EWCM around then) and then AF today.

So I'm hopeful that my body seems to have got back on the ovulation train quite quickly 🤞 On to November!

You are in the same boat as me! I'm 32 came off my pill a few days before you and ovulated 2 1/2 weeks after.... now just coming to the end of my first AF and hoping this will be our month 🤞

ReginaPhalange12 · 27/10/2023 16:50

@Optimistic2021 if you can DTD tonight & tomorrow then I can't see any harm. Good luck!

I'm just hoping this isn't a fluke and my cycle will continue normally now 😅

We did consider not trying in November to try to avoid an August baby who would be youngest in school year but just suddenly feel very aware of my age and weight not ideal either (BMI 33 down from 40 at its highest point!) so want to just keep going in case it takes a long time and what will be will be!

As a September baby myself, I actually think August is the best time to have a child. Saves almost a year off mandatory schooling.

MrsHousePlant · 27/10/2023 18:23

@Lovelesslily I had the same thought around summer borns but having realised how much harder this whole TTC thing is than I initially realised I don’t want to waste a month 🙈 they’d be the youngest in the year but as @Outliers said it actually saves a lot of potential childcare costs as they go to school much sooner than a child born in sept.

dg3131 · 27/10/2023 18:26

Joining this thread from oct. AF just arrived 😔 I have similar reservation about an august baby but also will be grateful for DC2 and whatever's meant to be will be so we will keep going :)

Alwaystired2023 · 28/10/2023 08:01

Hi ladies hope you are all doing well, I'm reading all of these threads you are all giving me strength and support in knowing we aren't alone in the ups and downs. 4dpo today making up lots of symptoms in my head 🤣

Hope everyone has a good weekend 💐

pontipinemum · 28/10/2023 14:27

@Jee95 any thing stronger on the tests?

Only 4DPO here and I am so impatient! I've been looking up progesterone testing, do any of you do that?

I was at my GP yesterday and she has said she will refer me to a private fertility consultant, I'm luck to have health ins to cover most of it.

Jee95 · 28/10/2023 14:29

@pontipinemum no been negative so far. Will try in a few days time.

when I went to my GP I asked for private referral and they suggested I wait a year due to age/weight/health all ok. But was disappointed. I’ve found a private clinic and will make a consultation appt. If I’m negative end of next week.

Willow89 · 28/10/2023 14:34

Hi all hoping it's ok to join you all! This is my 1st month TTC, my 1st born is 13!! Will be a big gap.
Had my IUD removed start of October; light period on the 13th of October. Started OPK testing and had a positive on Thursday, so officially 1DPO.
Dreading this 2WW hopefully we can keep each other company.

musingtoday · 28/10/2023 16:19

Hi everyone, CD1. This is our 2nd month trying

I feel really disheartened that AF has shown up today after a 33 day cycle. Had a very early medical termination a year ago, the time wasn’t right and I was so upset but I thought given that we’d got pregnant accidentally last time that it would happen instantly again.. and it hasn’t. Taking folic acid and Vit D, DTD every other day and had a whole week of EWCM. I’ve scared myself by googling and some sites seem to say over a third of couples conceive on the first month?!? Can’t believe it is that high 😮 we are only mid twenties and I really naively thought we wouldn’t have a problem, now I’m so scared I threw our chance away.

Really hoping this month is our month. Baby dust to you all, glad to be on this journey together and it will be so nice to chat as I can’t really speak to anyone in real life about this.

dg3131 · 28/10/2023 16:23

@musingtoday hi, I'm CD2 today, feels like it's going to be a lifetime waiting again but also comes round too quick. I have a DS aged 4 and this will be our 3rd month trying for number 2. I'm sure it will happen for you again, it's just really hard when you do everything 'right' follow the rule book to a T and then BFN. I feel you. Fingers crossed for us this month

pontipinemum · 28/10/2023 20:28

@Jee95 this is only my 2nd month properly TTC but I don't think ovulated since DS was born in July 2022. I didn't get periods back though until I stopped breastfeeding him in Sept. Any time I did random OPKs during the last year they've all been negative. Before DS I had 2 mc's and it took ages to get pregnant before both of those. My GP is really good though I'm very lucky with her.

A year is a really really long time to be asked to wait!!

@musingtoday well firstly you didn't loose your chance or throw it away. The time wasn't right, so be kind to yourself about that. Remember if 1/3 of couples conceive 1st month that means 2/3 don't so odds are higher that you don't

Sleepysheepish · 29/10/2023 01:45

Fertility friends says I’m 3DPO, not sure I entirely trust it! Natural cycles and Tempdrop haven’t confirmed ovulation yet, I definitely had a clear temp shift last night so I’m sure I did ovulate in there-from CD19-21.

Anyone else a similar DPO?

Sleepysheepish · 29/10/2023 01:48

@pontipinemum I’m using Mira which measures PgD, I think really it’s only useful for trends tho. And I’ve found it quite stressful watching the levels lower even tho I know it may mean nothing 🤪

Outliers · 29/10/2023 02:09

CD10. Starting to get faint positive on LH test.

Flying out early Tuesday AM. May try and DTD either tomorrow night or day after to get in rhythm. App says ovulation will be day we fly back 8pm and arrive at midnight. We will be out of hotel from 11am - so very limited time during that day to make much happen, but we'll try.

MrsHousePlant · 29/10/2023 07:44

I woke up thinking I felt a bit nauseous this morning so decided at 9DPO to wind myself up and test 😂 BFN and not sure what else I was expecting. It’s hard when you see others on her get a BFP that early! I should probably save myself the pain and expense and wait for AF on Wednesday now.

wanderlustre · 29/10/2023 09:04

AF is due today or tomorrow so I'm thinking ahead to my next cycle. I've always used easy@home ovulation tests but thinking of using CB this time. There seems to be two types though - ones that show your 2 most fertile days and another type that shows 4. Which ones do you all use and what's the difference?

MrsHousePlant · 29/10/2023 09:16

@wanderlustre I use the 4 day one, I like it because it shows when you’re at high fertility too so peak isn’t so sudden and you can time BD knowing a peak is on the way. It takes some confusion out of reading lines but a couple of us this month have questioned knowing the LH peak is the real peak, I might use OPKs alongside my static smiley next month (AF due Wed) to help me see and check. I think whatever you use it’s very easy to over think it! CB tests unfortunately aren’t cheap either.

Alwaystired2023 · 29/10/2023 09:16

Have used both @wanderlustre the ones (pink) which give 2 days are either 'fertile or not fertile' the 4 days ones (purple) give fertile, possibly fertile and not fertile

I usually splash out on the 4 days ones and they are registering the rising levels (flashing smiley) before you get the peak day (static smiley) which stays for 48hours

Main problem I have is I always start testing too early and panic I'm not going to ovulate. Works best for me if I try and start on the days my app says I should be fertile

MrsHousePlant · 29/10/2023 09:17

@wanderlustre sorry I totally missed part of your question, 4 day shows flashing smiley faces (estrogen rise) up to your LH peak when you get a static smiley. 2 day just shows peak with a static.
