Pregnancy symptoms after chemical pregnancy the month before

Hi all

I had a CP last month and have ovulated 3 days early this month (CD13) and am only 3dpo but feel like exactly I did at the start of the pregnancy last month (extremely sore boobs already, a bit burpy) so I was wondering, did anyone have the same or similar symptoms as their CP and go on to have a healthy pregnancy? I'm very aware of my body potentially playing tricks and hormones being weird from the past few weeks, and I know it would be too early for HCG to be rising.

Any personal experiences would be great! 🙏

@Dan521 that's just really odd! Have you thought about switching to another brand to double check? It's annoying spending more money on these things though!! I've got Mommed ones which are terrible also 😅

AF came for me super early this month @J3llycat at 8DPO but that was expected as I hadn’t bled since last miscarriage so this is super heavy. Just pleased I can start a fresh cycle!

J3llycat · 25/09/2023 15:32

@LacedBouquet glad you feel you can now start afresh, my thinking too when AF shows (feels like it's also just around the corner at 10dpo now). No nausea or much cramping this month so expect that's the way it will be 😊

Oh I really hope yours doesn't come @J3llycat ! Got my fingers and toes crossed for you that this is your month :)

LenaJ · 26/09/2023 11:54

@J3llycat i hadn’t a symptom at all this month, literally not one…and good strong line! You never know…hoping it all goes your way!

Dan521 · 26/09/2023 14:49

have you tested yet @J3llycat ?

J3llycat · 26/09/2023 15:09

@Dan521 i tested this morning at 11dpo with a Mommed strip (despite better judgement that these tests are terrible, my bbt has dropped and feeling very much like af is imminent) and annoyingly there's a bit of an indent line with it which isn't helpful for my reasoning 😂. Feeling very rough like I want to sleep all day. I think af will be here tomorrow (CD 25 so will be a short one this month!). Thank you all for the positivity 🌼💖

@J3llycat you’re not out until AF arrives! I just don’t know what tests to trust any more. I’ve had false positives on pretty much every brand. I considered boots the most reliable but I am not sure if they give me false positives last month or it was CP. I don’t even know where I am in my cycle my opks are still going up and down.

do you have a home bargains near you? They have early detection tests there for 99p, those are probably the only ones I’ve not had a second line on, although I’m not sure on the reliability of their sensitivity because I’ve never had a second line but they say they can be used 5/6 days early.

fingers crossed for you xx

J3llycat · 26/09/2023 17:05

@Dan521 the strips are a nightmare I find, but then again my eyes seem to find a line on anything! After the CP last month I'm feeling much more patient on waiting for af to arrive that's for sure although wish I was one of those who could fully hold out 😂 I've seen other posts where after a CP people have had up/down LH readings, you'll know in good time! Hope you're feeling okay in yourself x

Did you say you ovulated 3 days early? Did you continue to opk test? Ive attached pics of my cycle I’ve had so many positives this month, could you have ovulated later and be 7-8dpo? I can see a line on your test, this was mine at 7dpo last month, it was followed by loads of faint lines until AF arrived.

I hope yours is a BFP @J3llycat soon! I also had a faint line when my AF came at 8DPO this month. I kept testing for a few days after and still had vvvvfl but definitely neg today. I’m not counting mine as a chemical this month but considering it as failed implantation. Will post my vvfl below x

Sorry if this is derailing but what is a chemical pregnancy please? I tested positive on a clear blue digital 1 day after my period was due last week but have started bleeding today (would be 5 weeks tomorrow), too heavy for implantation bleeding - I guess this is a chemical?

LacedBouquet · 26/09/2023 23:53

I’m sorry to hear that @Firstbaby2024 ! But bleeding can be normal in early pregnancy. Have you tested again? I’d definitely recommend texting again.
a chemical pregnancy is just the name given to a loss before 5 weeks. At 5 weeks, this is the earliest you can see a pregnancy on a scan so they refer to pregnancies before this stage as ‘chemicals’ because you only knew you were pregnant from a positive test. They are still a pregnancy loss.

Firstbaby2024 · 27/09/2023 00:06

Thanks for explaining @LacedBouquet. I haven’t tested again but will try tomorrow, there’s so much more to ttc than I ever realised, feel like I have no idea what I’m doing!

J3llycat · 27/09/2023 07:35

@Dan521 i track my BBT every morning and it went up past the cover line on CD13, followed by a negative LH test when it was positive on CD11 and 12 so I'm certain with this one! Definitely suggest tracking your BBT too as it helps to pinpoint O day 😊 How's it going this morning? My test this morning was pretty stark white, although to throw in the mix my BBT has gone up past the cover line again 😂

@Firstbaby2024 so sorry to hear - how are you feeling today? I recommend trying to get a GP appointment today, that way you can discuss these things which really help when you're feeling worried, also if it is a CP it's best to log it with the GP for any future referrals. Hope you're okay, I've read that some women do have quite heavy implantation but best to be on the safe side and speak to a GP or professional xx

Firstbaby2024 · 27/09/2023 07:53

Thanks @J3llycat

I took another test this morning and the line is very faint, it was really clear last week so I think that’s my answer! It’s now like a heavy period so I guess this is day two of a new cycle and we try again. I’ll try giving the GP a call.

J3llycat · 27/09/2023 18:14

@Firstbaby2024 so sorry 💖 it is an awful thing to experience. Hope you have the support you need around you 🙏🏻

LacedBouquet · 27/09/2023 20:28

So sorry @Firstbaby2024, it’s really hard to go through after all that excitement of a positive test. But hopefully it’ll pass quickly and you’ll be able to try again next month 🥰

@J3llycat How are you getting on? Did you test again?

Firstbaby2024 · 27/09/2023 21:10

Thank you both xx

J3llycat · 28/09/2023 08:59

@LacedBouquet took a boots test this morning which was negative so think that seals the deal! Which is absolutely fine. Just waiting for af now but in the meantime covid has decided rear it's head 😂 - a non ideal covid/af duo! How are you doing?

OP posts:
Dan521 · 28/09/2023 11:53

Oh no @J3llycat 😞 sorry to hear that. The tww is agonising for me, there’s nothing worse than when af arrives and the whole roller coaster starts all over again. I think I am around 6/7 dpo, I have had a nightmare with false positives so I have bought a new box of tests. I have done two of them to check for false positives as I knew it would be too early for bfp and both were bfn as expected so I am hoping for reliable results from these ones.

LacedBouquet · 29/09/2023 00:15

@J3llycat sorry to hear about your negative test but no way RE covid! I also have come down with it too 🙈 It always seems to cause IBS for me for a few weeks so not ideal for ttc this month, hoping symptoms go away soon!
Other than that I’m good thanks, I’m just about to go onto Cycle day 8! I also have a private ultrasound booked next Wednesday to see if anything abnormal in uterus causing the CPs
