@J3llycat I may be in the same boat, although I am not sure. I’ve only been tracking a couple of months so I’ve tested throughout my cycles to experiment and see how the tests change throughout my cycles. Sorry for the long post but wanted to share my experience…
last cycle I had a vvfl on easy@home hcg around 8dpo, I thought maybe it’s the start of a BFP so continued testing (I got a box full of easy@home tests so I’ve got them to waste 🙈). Anyway, I continued testing and continued seeing faint lines. Then I seen threads and reviews saying these tests give false positives so I tried boots 5 days early tests and again had faint lines on about 6 boots tests. I’ve never had even a hint of a line on boots tests, even after they’ve dried, so I considered the boots tests as quite reliable. I also had positive opks during this time too, which I have read can happen if there is hcg in your system.
The lines did not get darker and AF arrived right on time (day 28) so I was left unsure if it was a chemical or false positives. Because I was unsure, I decided to carry on testing with both opk and easy@home hcg with the aim being to see if the pregnancy tests ever had a faint lines at a time when I knew for sure I was not pregnant (during af and between af and ovulation). Both hcg and opks were negative during AF and for a few days after.
CD8-CD11 of this cycle, I had positive opks with peak being CD8. According to Premom I ovulated CD9 instead of CD14! HCG tests were all negative at this point, not even a hint of a line. So I started reading through posts and noticed that there was a few people saying they ovulated early after a chemical, I’ve also seen people say they had 2 opk peaks With the second being the true peak. So I have continued testing opks daily to see if I have a second peak because I am finding it difficult to believe I have ovulated on CD9. So far they have been complete negative since CD11.
I am now on CD13 and potentially 4dpo. I have just tested again and opk has gone dark again, although not quite positive, and hcg has a faint line!! There’s no way I’d get a bfp at 4dpo, I only testing to confirm reliability of the tests.
So in conclusion, the outcome of my experiment has resulted in me being as equally baffled as I was to begin with. 😑
Pic of the row of easy@home hcg were some of the faint lines from last cycle.
Pic of the test on its own is one of the boots tests from last cycle. (The photo was taken once it had dried but the line appeared within 5 minutes of taking the test)
pic of the hcg and opk are from today.
sorry I could not help in any way to your post but I might be in the same boat and around the same dpo so thought I would chip in and share the journey.
