Struggling to get pregnant after a chemical pregnancy

I struggled for a while to get pregnant with #1 and I had a hsg dye test last October 22. Test was clear , tubes are open and in the month following that test i fell pregnant. Tested 14dpo and bled 14dpo , appx 1 hour after my BFP 😞 . Apparently the dye test can increase your chances by 30% in the following month.
Anyway.. it's now August 23 and I haven't been able to get pregnant since.
Has anyone else been in the same situation? It's really disheartening to hear everyone say they fell pregnant the month after a chemical. I haven't met anyone who struggled again afterwards. I guess I'm just looking to hear any long term success stories . We've had all the tests with the clinic prior to ivf and I just don't know if we should proceed with ivf or give it another few months.
I'm 38 so I know time is not on my side.

@Endomummy Hey! Ahh it was lovely thanks, really enjoyed it - Budapest is gorgeous and we had sunshine the entire time which was great. I didn’t need my tablets - because my cycle this month is weirdly 30+ days… the worst thing is, I have a big event tomorrow with over 100 people coming and I’ve got a terrible feeling these next 24 hours is when the pain is going to kick in 😅 I hope not 😭

it is crazy the anxiety and planning you have to deal with knowing you’re going to be so unwell!

I don’t think being hopeful is crazy but I do think the ups and downs take it out of you! I’m the same.. especially with the impatient part. I can’t believe I’ve lasted this long and not lost my head 🤣

Awwww fingers crossed the ovulation days are lucky 🍀 🤣 I’m definitely a glass half full sorta person - so I’m getting excited at the thought of IVF although a bit scared about the process and how I can keep it all under wraps when going through such emotional highs and lows… I’ve decided I’ll tell my boss so hopefully they can review their family policy and provide support for people going through this - my boss is HR and we’re a small organisation so fingers crossed!

Hope you’re keeping ok xx

Oh I know the planning everything around your cycle! I do that and have done for years. It always seems to come at the worst time though doesn’t it. I hope you are ok!

that’s a good idea, hopefully they are supportive! I’m actually a HR manager but I don’t feel like disclosing everything at the mo. I am a little jaded as in a previous role I experienced pretty awful pregnancy discrimination so it’s made me extra wary although I love my current job and company. I may have to disclose if we get to the ivf stage tho as will need lots of time off. I hope they can support you with paid time off! And will be good on the emotional side too, hopefully they can be understanding that some days you might not be your usual happy self. X

@Endomummy it is crazy! My period this month is bonkers which isn’t ideal. I’m expecting it to hit properly this eve or tomorrow now 😅

Oh never! Wow that’s a shame isn’t it. I work for a charity which is run by majority women so hopefully this will make some difference. I’ve booked a meeting in with my boss next week (Weds) so I’ll be sure to let you know - I guess when it comes to treatments and needing time off at certain points, you sort of have to be honest or it could be detrimental if you don’t so it’s a double edged sword isn’t it 😢 as if we don’t have enough to deal with 🤣 xx

@xCrystalQueenx how are you doing? I hope you’re keeping ok. Any further on decisions re. IVF? We’ve been referred - I figured that I’d rather be on the waiting list and it feels progress than to hold off. We had a chemical in Nov 22 and nothing since xx

@Yolo23 thanks for asking . We've decided to go ahead and pursue ivf. We contemplated giving it a few more months but as the GP reminded me, " time is ticking on" we will be commencing later this month. How are you getting on

@xCrystalQueenx thats great news! Fingers crossed it all goes smoothly. We’ve been referred (funded) so we’re just waiting on a date to start… keep in touch! Xx
