Did you fall pregnant after a HyCosy?

I’m clinging onto all sorts here, so bear with me!

36, 2.5 years in to TTC#1 and diagnosed with unexplained infertility. We have had our one and only round of NHS IVF, with one unsuccessful fresh embryo transfer and one frozen embryo in the freezer.

As part of the fertility investigations, we had everything but a HyCosy because whatever the result, I still wasn’t falling pregnant so would have need IVF regardless, so went down that route instead.

It’s been at the back of my mind ever since, so after our failed fresh transfer in March this year, we are now deciding what to do next. Using the frozen embryo feels too soon for some reason, so I decided to book in for a HyCosy for 3 weeks times.

what pushed me more down this route, rather than using the frozen embryo, is the stories I’ve read of women becoming pregnant soon after a HyCosy because it effectively ‘flushes’ the tubes out and the sperm and egg are able to get to where they need.

Does anyone have any real life experience with this?

we are pushing out the frozen embryo transfer to later this year/early next year and I want to cling onto some hope of still falling pregnant naturally.

coming up to 37, I know if the HyCosy doesn’t work/shows nothing, and the frozen embryo transfer fails, we will have to do a self funded IVF round, and realise I need to be as young as I can for that.

sorry for the long winded post!!

No BFP unfortunately, thank you for checking in though. I always hope that one day I can bring a positive update to my threads!
My period came bang on schedule the cycle I had the HyCosy. I remain ever hopeful for the next few months before we go back to IVF in the new year.

Good luck for your dye test xx

Yes second month after

Keeping my fingers crossed the same happens to me, as it didn’t happen the cycle of my HyCosy.
thank you for sharing!

I had one as a last step before starting ivf and we fell pregnant a week after I had it. They told me then and there my tubes didn't seem blocked and they couldn't see anything to worry about but it definitely did something🙏🏼good luck with yours x

Exact same happened to me! Good luck OP

Hey, yes I did!!

I had my HyCosy in September and I fell pregnant in November. I am currently 15 weeks + 4 days.

I can’t explain how incredible it feels to update one of my threads with positive news. I have read so many positive updates on these threads over the years and I feel so lucky I am now one of them.

Baby girl is due in July 🩷🩷

@whomoon congratulations! 💕💕💕

Unfortunately did not convince after my procedure even though the doctor told me it did increase the chances.

I also had unexplained infertility and was told my tubes were clear during the procedure.

I was 32 and had a successful first round of IVF.

there is a higher rate of pregnancy after a HyFoSy than a HyCoSy. If you're paying, try to find a gynaecologist who uses foam instead of the saline contrast.

Hey! After 3 years of TTC, one failed IVF round, AMH 0.75. I had a hyscosy done in September 2023. I am now 27 weeks pregnant with TWINS!! We fell pregnant straight after getting it done 😊

TTCRainbowBubs · 14/03/2024 15:51

Thanks for sharing @Marialeonie ! That’s amazing news! Congratulations! I’m a bit disheartened I didn’t fall pregnant straight after the Hycosy but praying this month is the month as i think my right ovary produce better eggs (random theory of mine). Was you on Clomid or anything to conceive twins?

Marialeonie · 14/03/2024 16:08

@TTCRainbowBubs I was prepping for another round of IVF. The place I went to they did the hycosy before ivf. After I had the hycosy we decided we wanted to wait 3 months to get healthier and just generally feel better for another round. I had the hycosy done on 11th September and got my positive on 8th October.

I don't know if this helps but I had tests done for food intolerance and changed my diet (ended up gluten, egg and milk free for 3 months, then reintroduced them gradually back in) I also took vitamins and did acupuncture for a year.
