HyCoSy… the miraculous fix

longingtobe23 · 27/06/2023 16:05

I know there are old threads on here which share anecdotal stories that HyCoSy can work in a therapeutic way… flush those tubes
and lots end up pregnant after a long TTC journey

I guess I want to know if there any any updated stories ?
I had mine last week, and my fertile window is coming up whilst my husband is away 🙃

have I royally stuffed up there and wasted a good chance lol
TIA

@Anotheranonymousname I had an ectopic 2 years ago, was partially ruptured so I lost the tube. We have been trying ever since. I have been looking into getting this procedure done privately though. At this point I'm desperate so willing to try anything in case there is an issue with my one remaining tube. I do have a DS but took 2 years trying to conceive him. I'm just exhausted with it all now 😢

I feel your pain. There are 5 years between my DC and the pregnancy for DC2 was going to be the final one, regardless of outcome, because recurrent pregnancy loss was so exhausting. I was offered the procedure as a 'you never know' option and as the hospital is at the end of our road, was able to be fitted in when someone else didn't turn up.

Frustratedttcno2 · 08/12/2023 01:01

@Anotheranonymousname thanks I'm going to give my gp a call tomorrow and see if I can arrange something. Weirdly very similar in that the hospital is just literally round the corner!!!

longingtobe23 · 10/12/2023 23:40

@Cloclo93 i will be 9dPO tomorrow - mentally in my head about testing too soon. But really want to get it out of the way ASAP and know if it’s a yes or no !!

Cloclo93 · 11/12/2023 14:24

@longingtobe23 just test in the morning! At least you will know, did you get a positive ovulation on a stick? Can't remember the short name for them opk or something, I had mind Thursday so I'm guessing I ovulated Friday so currently 3DPO, I have it in my head I'm gonna test at 10 dpo because it's the morning of my ivf assessment scan! Praying we get our Christmas miracles 🙏

longingtobe23 · 11/12/2023 22:43

@Cloclo93 well I got a peak at 1st December but super late at night so practically 2nd December so I might actually only be 8 dpo not 9DPO!
nonetheless negative today
i will test daily now until 12DPO then I know I’m out for good.

fingers crossed for two Christmas miracles xxx

Cloclo93 · 12/12/2023 08:11

@longingtobe23 if you had a peak december 1st would you not of ovulated on the night of the 2nd? Some times them tests confuse me, I read after peak LH surge you release a egg 8 hours after 🤔 I was trying to figure mine because I had peak LH for 2 days on 7th and 8th before it went down but I think the 8th I ovulated had some cramps, I can never go by cervical mucus because I never get it!!
How was your test this morning??xx

longingtobe23 · 12/12/2023 13:27

I just looked and I’ve been doing them for years at this stage and I’m still confused sometimes ☹️ I got high on 1st and I assumed it was my peak ! Then I got even higher on the second! So I was like wait what lol I just DTD as much as I could anyway

my peak was 11:30pm at night too I tested again just before I went to sleep and luckily I did! I had cramps and egg white …

regardless, negative again
I’d be either 9 or 10DPO by now! So could be too soon as they say 😔

OP posts:
Cloclo93 · 12/12/2023 14:06

@longingtobe23 yeah implantation might not even take place until 10 DPO. I'm gonna stock up on wine and enjoy my Christmas if I get a BFN next week , keep me updated on you line progressions 🤞🤞xx

longingtobe23 · 12/12/2023 14:43

@Cloclo93 ohhh I have a cupboard full ready to go if nothing by Sunday hahah!

Hi, I hope you don’t mind me joining this thread!

I had a hycosy (hyfosy as they used foam contrast instead of dye) on 21st dec which was cd7 for me. Have been TTC for 2+ years now with no positive pregnancy tests! One of my tubes was initially blocked but the consultant was able to clear it during the appointment by flushing through saline solution which was really reassuring. Maybe this is what was needed all along?

Hoping for a Xmas miracle indeed. Baby dust to all x

Cloclo93 · 29/12/2023 15:24

No luck for me yet unfortunately, next month will be my 3rd cycle after the hyfosy 😵‍💫

longingtobe23 · 11/01/2024 19:19

@Cloclo93

best of luck everyone on the thread!

@longingtobe23 OMG A HUGE CONGRATULATIONS TO YOU!!! 🎊 👏 💐 🥳 💖 👶 I'm so happy for you!!! Seen that second line your legs must of went like jelly lol how many tests did you take? 😅 how many dpo did you get your bfp?? I'm on my 3rd month after the hycosy AF due next weekend I have my IVF booked into start around January 8th I'd love to get my own bfp!xx

longingtobe23 · 13/01/2024 19:14

@Cloclo93 thank you that’s so kind!! I hope and pray you get your BFP too ✨♥️

I am still in shock - and probably won’t settle until my scan I’ve booked for two weeks today!
I was 8dpo - I am SURE I saw a line at 11:20pm I had a huge cramp and fell asleep on the sofa and just “felt” weird… who knows but I just knew!

then 9DPO morning I got a positive on a cheapie - husband didn’t believe me so I rushed at work and in my lunch I did a clearblue and there it was 🥹 ending up texting him like LOOK I AM not the most romantic lol

They did tell me the surgery can help - but it was the month we didn’t track did it only twice given up and settled into other ideas! I used to eyeroll those ladies when I heard such nonsense on my TTC journey but … now I believe it!

HyCoSy… the miraculous fix

This is fantastic news! We conceived on our third cycle after Hycosy too! We were a bit the same. I couldn’t find the new box of OPKs I’d bought so we just did it a couple of times around the right time and bang, pregnant after 18 months!

Sadly it didn’t work out for us and we had to have a termination at 14 weeks as baby had Edwards. Now on third cycle after that and hoping it happens again. I’d almost like to have a hycosy again!

longingtobe23 · 15/01/2024 15:46

@MrsScotland so sorry ♥️ hoping you get a quick and healthy happy pregnancy again soon ✨

I had to have the endo scraped off and the hycosy and laproscopy but I’d do it all again for that shock on the test and being able to do it naturally I felt so lucky X

Goldendoodlelover · 15/01/2024 19:08

@longingtobe23 congratulations, this is fantastic news!! ✨✨✨ out of interest, what made you decide to have the laparoscopy? I’m just wondering whether I should discuss having one with my doctor as part of further investigations / to find out if I’m truly ‘unexplained’, but I don’t want to have surgery unnecessarily - I don’t have any symptoms of endo and all scans have supposedly come back normal - but you hear success stories such as yours and it makes me wonder if it might be worth it!

@MrsScotland I’m so sorry to hear about your loss ❤️ wishing you lots of luck in your ttc journey xx

longingtobe23 · 16/01/2024 14:10

@Goldendoodlelover I was exactly the same when they booked it and said 8 months wait.
i decided I didn’t need it surely as I had no need. i did have symptoms of endo … only heavy periods (not every month but some) and some clotting. So to me it felt unnecessary all my bloods and scans looked fine

i wasn’t convinced I had it… but turns out I did!

endo on my ovaries and My tubes were clear on HyCoSy but in the laparoscopy they get a better look and whilst they did “fill and spill” meaning sperm could travel… they were sluggish and a bit slow!

i am at risk of ectopic because of that… but they said now they’ve “milk” them and stretched them it should help and clearly it did!! ☺️

I’ve a long wait to check baby is in the right place but I am 4 weeks 4 days today so ever closer to finding out 🙌🏻

Has anyone ever thats had a hycosy also used castor oil packs? I've started seeing a fertility acupuncture specialist and she has recommended doing them daily from day 4 until ovulation. Apparently it's very good for flushing things out and helping to regulate cycles. I'm giving it a go and my hycosy is booked for next week. So I have everything crossed for a miracle soon

CotswoldConceptionJourney · 13/03/2024 06:48

Hi all,

I’m 32 and have been trying to conceive for 14 months. I just wanted to share my positive recent HyCoSy experience in case it is helpful to others (I nervously read lots of posts before mine).

After all the build up, it was quick (no more than 5 minutes from start to finish) and far less painful than a bikini wax. I took Ibuprofen before and would describe it as an uncomfortable sensation. My tubes didn’t show any signs of blockage so I’m sure this helped make it mostly pain free.

I’d recommend taking a pad with you as it was similar to a light period after. But I made it to a gentle yoga class that evening and don’t have any cramping or bleeding on day 2.

My doctor also scanned my ovaries again which was helpful to have done for a second time, though I still have low ovarian reserve with about 3-4 follicles/developing eggs per ovary when it would ideally be 12. My husband has 0-1% normal sperm morphology too despite us being otherwise fit and healthy.

I’d love to hear any HyCoSy success stories to keep me positive and hopeful!

Thank you and good luck all x

longingtobe23 · 14/03/2024 23:33

@CotswoldConceptionJourney fab you've had it done and not too painful! Always promising..
I did conceive after a tubal flush. But I had it done via Laparoscopy .... as well as having hycosy.
Mostly due to finding endometriosis so I needed that treated too.

There are so many anecdotes to say 3 months prior to a hycosy and 'flush' are top times...including my surgeon who said keep going girl lol
Indeed I was pregnant 2 months later and now I'm 13 weeks ❤️ I was also TTC nearly 2.5 years so it can happen

Best of luck xxx

longingtobe23 · 14/03/2024 23:46

@CotswoldConceptionJourney ... It was the shock of my life and I know some people wait 3 x as long but it feels like an eternity no matter the months.

I really hope this is what works for you too 🌈 xxx

I got pregnant the cycle after my HyCoSy after 11 cycles of no luck - no idea if that made the difference but we're probably starting to TTC again shortly and I'm very tempted to book another...

Hi I just thought I'd jump on and reply as I had my HyCoSy today and I had the exact same as you - my tube appeared blocked but after he applied a bit more pressure the foam flowed through and now open. Hoping and praying for a BFP now 🤞🏼✨
