HyCoSy… the miraculous fix

longingtobe23 · 27/06/2023 16:05

I know there are old threads on here which share anecdotal stories that HyCoSy can work in a therapeutic way… flush those tubes
and lots end up pregnant after a long TTC journey

I guess I want to know if there any any updated stories ?
I had mine last week, and my fertile window is coming up whilst my husband is away 🙃

have I royally stuffed up there and wasted a good chance lol
TIA

Never heard of this what is it? 💖

PinkMandalorian · 27/06/2023 18:18

Oh it's real. After years and years struggling I got pregnant after my dye test. Not the month of the test, but the following month. Unfortunately I lost my pregnancy and now I'm still here 7 months later trying to get pregnant again.
I'm in a group with other ladies and one of those fell pregnant the month following her dye test

longingtobe23 · 27/06/2023 19:29

@Kellyaust
Essentially its a dye test to test the patency of the tubes .. make sure your Fallopian tubes aren’t blocked.
I did lots of research when I wanted to book it, and kept seeing so many women get pregnant after it!?
i will say I’m not expecting to, but it’s nice to feel hopeful after months of uncertainty

p.s the HyCoSy was very painful

@longingtobe23 did you ever manage to get pregnant after your hycosy?

MrsScotland · 14/11/2023 13:30

I had a hycosy in May, missed the next cycle as I was away without hubby but fell pregnant the next month. It had taken us 18 months. Who knows if it helped, they certainly didn't see anything wrong with my tubes.

Sadly though the baby had a problem identified at the 12 week scan and heartbreakingly we had to terminate a few weeks later.

bookish83 · 16/11/2023 16:58

Fell pregnant the month after my hycosy (no issues shown on it)

Was TTC 8 months

Cloclo93 · 17/11/2023 07:51

@MrsScotland I'm very sorry you had to terminate 💔 hope ye are okay! On a positive note at least you know your body is capable of falling pregnant naturally! X
@bookish83 congratulations 🎊 I'm praying for the same outcome had my hycosy last Thursday 🤞 never had any LH surge do kinda wondering did the hycosy stop my ovulation

Amy259 · 17/11/2023 14:24

I fell pregnant the month after mine (not the month of, Dr advised the dye likely prevents implantation the month of, so your af that month sheds that lining and gets rid of the dye) after just over a year of trying. LO is now 16 months old :)

Currently ttc number 2 and regularly talking myself out of paying for another hycosy!

ceruleansky · 17/11/2023 15:04

@longingtobe23
May I ask how it felt? Was it painful?

I have only one more cycle of Letrozole before they check my tubes. I just wanted to know how the procedure feels.

Cloclo93 · 18/11/2023 10:17

@Amy259 interesting I never heard it can prevent implantation 🥴 I was told not to dtd for 3 days to prevent infections but can try after 3 days so 🤞🤞 your outcome gives hope xx

@ceruleansky I also had a hyfosy last Thursday I barely felt it, there was definitely no pain! Maybe because I had the foam flush? But I also took 2 strong nurofen that morning 😊

Amy259 · 18/11/2023 10:26

@Cloclo93 yeah they told me at my appt. I guess it makes sense if you think about a potential layer of residual dye lying on your uterine wall? I do hope you get your bfp this month, but if you don’t don’t be disheartened because next month could be the biggie 🤞🏻🤞🏻

Goldendoodlelover · 18/11/2023 10:34

Hi all, just jumping on this thread! Been ttc for a year now, had an ultrasound scan and bloods and a semen analysis and all normal. Trying for our first and never ever even seen a glimmer of a bfp so feeling pretty disheartened. Going to try and book in a Hycosy as soon as possible to see if it can diagnose anything / give me a fertility boost but am a bit anxious as heard lots of horror stories about the procedure but if it gets me my bfp will be worth it 🤞🤞🤞 so I love hearing Hycosy success stories!

Werewolfnotswearwolf · 18/11/2023 10:37

Didn’t make any difference to me! Hurt like fuck though. Have a little boy now after 6 transfers and 3 rounds of IVF. Hope it works magic for you though!

Fruitandnuts · 18/11/2023 10:41

Was told it increases fertility for 3 cycles afterwards. I had procedure done last December, was pregnant in the February so was nearly admitting defeat after 15 TTC.
My little girl will be 3 weeks old tomorrow 👼

longingtobe23 · 21/11/2023 22:36

Hi all late to reply sorry. Hycosy didn't help me get pregnant sadly.

I went on to have a laproscopy and dye test. Which found actually my tubes whilst open are a little chubby and slow. I also had endo removed. None of this was shown on my scans.

So, I am still considered fertile for another 3 months after this surgery. I had on October 17th! So I am praying this flush might do the trick. But it did show more than the HyCoSy did. Xx

I'll let you know!

Goldendoodlelover · 21/11/2023 22:52

Hi @longingtobe23 thanks for updating us! Did you have symptoms of endo? I’ve heard endo can be a common cause of unexplained infertility and I always assumed you would know if you had endo from symptoms but apparently some people can suffer with ‘silent endo’ - another thing to worry about!

Best of luck, hope the surgery has worked it’s magic! 🤞🤞🤞

Cloclo93 · 22/11/2023 13:34

Hi @longingtobe23 when is AF due? I'm 13 days after my hycosy :) praying for a little miracle xx

MrsDR · 22/11/2023 14:38

Hey there, can I join? I had my tubes flushed as part of a laparoscopy to remove a large 10cm endometrioma on my ovary. My consultant said my tubes were fine, no blockage and then encouraged me that for the next YEAR would be a great chance to get pregnant. That was in June, still not pregnant but I'm 42 so that's probably playing it's part. Can't comment on how it felt as I was fast asleep thank goodness!! But good to know my tubes are clear, plus I think flushing the dye through also clears away a lifetime of goop and mucus, paving the way for those little swimmers!

longingtobe23 · 06/12/2023 23:35

@Cloclo93 sooo I’m now in my two week wait! My first period post lap / flush was a bit weird but back to normal this month! So fingers crossed 🙌🏻
how are you feeling!? Hope you’ve got good news.

also how are you getting on @MrsDR excellent they say it can improve for so long after 🥰

IDontLikeMondays88 · 06/12/2023 23:42

Hi - I had / have silent endo. I had a lap at start of August 2019 got pregnant in September 2019. Now have a 3.5 year old.

tried got another, nothing has happened so I really feel the lap helped me get pregnant

Anotheranonymousname · 06/12/2023 23:42

The month after I had the procedure, I became (and stayed) pregnant with DC. I'd had a ruptured ectopic previously so only have one fallopian tube left which made for interesting images on the scan.

DC is nearly 15 years old now.

Frustratedttcno2 · 07/12/2023 01:12

@Anotheranonymousname I had an ectopic 2 years ago, was partially ruptured so I lost the tube. We have been trying ever since. I have been looking into getting this procedure done privately though. At this point I'm desperate so willing to try anything in case there is an issue with my one remaining tube. I do have a DS but took 2 years trying to conceive him. I'm just exhausted with it all now 😢

Goldendoodlelover · 07/12/2023 07:35

Hi all, finally had my Hycosy on Tuesday, tubes all clear so really just hoping it can work some of its magic now 🤞🤞🤞

dammit88 · 07/12/2023 07:37

. reread whole thread sorry my comment not helpful ...

Cloclo93 · 07/12/2023 15:44

@longingtobe23 any updates? Never got my BFP last month so hoping to get it this month 🤞 second cycle after hycosy, currently on CD 13 :)
