Ei still getting pains on and off, but not too concerned, just need to fast forward to scan date for peace of mind (hopefully) seem to be extra aware of every twinge now im pregnant, its a pain in the bum really, wish I was laid back about it, I have always been a bit of a worrier, so probably will still be worrying about one thing or another after scan! You and sparkly could post them on the temping buddies thread or fertility friend or even on here if you want to!

Hi all.
Got my themometer today so am going to start temping in the morning like EI. EI I'll post my temp here because I need Emmsy's expert advice to interpret it for me.
Emmsy When do I need to start OPKs with a 28-35 day cycle? I'm CD 7 I think; although AF started close to midnight so does that make me CD 6/7 lol!
Fruity Glad you're feeling better.
Disenchanted Hoping to hear some good news from you on Fri!

SparklyMummy · 12/03/2008 19:18

Mibbles Glad you had lovely holiday and made a holiday baby!

Emmsy I have been ttc like a bunny all week and just hope today's rise is my post-ov rise as BD'd yesterday morning. TBH I think I need to get pre-AF spotting fixed before I am in with a real chance but it is always good to practise and hey you never know .
Thanks Sparkly ! Both you and Ei should sign up with FF and get temps recorded as it tells you when you ov based on CM, temps and opks results (you don't have to record them all though). I would have given up BD'ing this cycle if I had not been temping as ov'd later than expected so am so grateful to the info temps give me . I'm sure Emmsy will give you loads of help interpreting temps and FWIW I'll help out too if I have anything to add but I really think FF is a huge help and it is free

Emmsy1 · 12/03/2008 21:40

sparkly probably more likely to be CD6 but not completely sure! you should have a sheet with your OPK's that would tell you when they think you should start testing, I gave mine to piper with the tests! I think it would suggest that you should start testing about cd11 for a 28 day cycle, but cant be 100% sure, I personally would start on cd9 between 2.00pm and 10.00pm (if your only planning on testing once) just until you start to pinpoint your ovulation, if you join fertility friend you can post your chart like fruity does and then we can view it and offer any advice, mibbes is also spot on with her advice, so you have at least 2 of us that will keep an eye out for you If you have spotted any EWCM yet then obviously start the OPK's straight away. If you don't want to join FFriend yet then post on here, its not a problem, just enter details like they do on the temping buddies thread (can also add CM if spotted on a daily basis) Sooooo excited for you now your starting to temp, we will get a BFP soon! XX

mibbes Glad to hear you have been at it like rabbits, even more so that you have probably just 'O' I hope with all my heart that you get that bloody egg this month, lots of baby dust your way *** XXX

Thanks Emmsy you are such a sweetie

scully · 13/03/2008 03:30

Hi I'm back, with good news Spoke to the receptionist at 7.45am this morning and luckily my dr had come in early so called me back and my 1st test was all good, can't remember the name of what they tested but she said they look for over 30 and mine was 44, so they were happy with that. I had more blood taken today to check hcg levels have doubled in the past 48hrs.
Now just have to hang on until my scan on 25/3, when I should be about 8wks.
Sorry for my small panic yesterday, I know that legally they can't leave detailed messages on the phone, but I would have preferred she didn't call at all, I wasn't expecting any news until the 2nd blood test had been done, which is why I was so worried.
Hi to everyone

Emmsy1 · 13/03/2008 04:18

scully dont worry about the panic, anyone would have done the same in your boat!,just pleased that it wasn't bad news just need to get 2nd result now and you can chill out abit! when do you get the results from the 2nd test?? XX

I have just read some bad news on one of the other threads, spink has lost her baby. I have tears rolling down my cheeks as I am writing. How is it that you dont even know people on mumsnet, as you do in real life (dont even know what some people look like, and true personalities etc...) but your just as upset when you read their bad news, can't bring myself out of this sadness at the moment, speak soon

OP posts:
sambrads · 13/03/2008 08:57

hello ladies

emmsy it is terrible about spink we are all so upset for her .

its strange how we form such a bond with eachother .

fruitloop was my rock on ttc thread and made sure to make everyone laugh even if she was feeing crap herself (hello by the way )

this place is a big family and support system

mibbes · 13/03/2008 09:51

Morning ladies. I know I read about spink too - it is so sad and you are right sambrads that it is incredible how close the bond can be between 'strangers'.
Emmsy I'll try to post a link to my chart later but can you help with what to put into FF today. I took temp earlier than usual at 6am (36.46) then missed my usual time of 7.15 and took it again when I woke at 8.15 (36.62) so not sure what to put in FF - coverline is 36.45 usually so both are above so am going to assume I did ovulate on cd19 so am on 2dpo. Temps are very low though, usually higher just after ov so am worried maybe didn't acually ov...? what do you think ?

fruitloop79 · 13/03/2008 11:01

ah sam I do try haha .

Poor Spink how far along was she? it's just awful, devastating news .

Well, I'm still suffering a bit but I've got my raging appetite back, just swallowed for slices of toast and honey. My temp has come down anyway so thats good news (and still above the coverline thank god!). I've told DP I'm testing on Tuesday if my temps stay high enough. I'm ignoring any signs or symptoms, I'm certainly not telling any of you lot! haha .

I dont think I've got the energy to update the list so I'll leave it up to one of you lovely ladies

fruitloop79 · 13/03/2008 11:02

oh, sorry mibbes I forgot to say HIYA!!!!!

fruitloop79 · 13/03/2008 11:04

I've obviously lost the plot slightly, there's no list here is there! hahahah, right, good.

Emmsy1 · 13/03/2008 11:09

Hi mibbes and sambrads your sure right about these bonds that are formed, its just so heartbreaking at times, feel so sorry for poor spink!

mibbes I would put in 36.46, some sites suggest that you increase your temp by 1/10 of a degree for every complete half hour that you take your temp earlier than normal, fertility friend doesn't agree with adjusting because we all have different metabolisms, they say that it could give false 'O' readings, your reading is above your coverline anyway, so shouldn't make much difference! Emmsy1 · 13/03/2008 11:13

fruity you always make me smile/giggle!

poor spink was 9 or10 weeks when she found out that baby had d!ied at 8 weeks

OP posts:
Emmsy1 · 13/03/2008 11:22

fruity just checked your temps, they are looking realllllllllly good!and sooooooo funny that you fell off the edge!

OP posts:
fruitloop79 · 13/03/2008 11:37

yeah, i know! that's how long my cycle is! I just fell right off hahaha. Do you think if I hadn't ov'ed my temp would have gone right back down to under the coverline?

Also, I wonder if anyone will know the answer to this!

I've been thinking about this all night....

Right, you all know how ridiculously long my cycles are, well, what if [hypothetically speaking] I am pg. If I timed this pregnancy from the 1st day of my cycle then I would be 81days pg! now that would be clearly insane surely! when would the professionals time my pregnancy from? ovulation?
I had to have a dating scan for DS cos I didnt have a clue when my last AF was at the time. This time I'll obviously know but how can they possible time it from my AF as it was so long ago. FF predicts I would be [hypothetically speaking - lets not forget that!] due on 24th Nov. But where do those dates come from? Anyone?

EiWishFor3MoreWishes · 13/03/2008 13:27

afternoon ladies in skiving off today so anyone around to keep me company?
so sorry to hear about spink is horrible to hear about one of our 'friends' having something awful happening
it is really funny how we form bonds with people who we have never met just through having a little virtual conversation i myself am always being 'me' when on here so i would like to think others are too and that if we all met IRL we would get on like a house on fire
i remembered to temp this mornin it was 35.81 so a little low but i was cold in bed todayso that might have made a bit of a difference
hope everyone is ok >
xx ei xx

fruitloop79 · 13/03/2008 13:35

hi Ei!!! I'm around! no kids today, well except DS but he doesnt count

Emmsy1 · 13/03/2008 14:07

fruity They probably wont give you an official date until you have your first scan, for the first 12 weeks of the bean's life 'most' beans grow at the same rate! at least you would get a scan a month earlier than most people! If you told the doc when you 'O' they could assume you were approx 4 weeks pregnant exactly 2 weeks after O but more than likely they will ask you to wait for the scan! how many days past 'O' did you say you might be??
