I've just been reading a pregnancy thread and its hit me so hard, I so want to be pregnant

We havent been trying long, only 2 or 3 months but it seems so long when you want something so bad.

When AF arrives even though its only a month till the round of pregnancy testing starts it feels like years.

And this months just gone off the rails for me, when I was supposed to be Oving my AF started instead, Its stopped about 4 days ago but now I have AF cramps again !!

Im just fed up (PS theres no way Im pregnant, someone suggested I might be - but its only 16 days since last AF and haven't done the deed since!)

Argggghhhh!! Im so frustrated!

There's a lot to be said for just relaxing and making love when you' want to rather than having sex at the right times in the hope that you will conceive.

It is actually perfectly normal to take up to a year to conceive, and in some countries,, gp's won't refer until ttc for two years, so three months is nothing by comparison.

It is frustrating when you want to get pregnant and it doesn't happen straight away, but the reality is that stressing about it and being sad/angry/envious of others who get pregnant will only actually make you miserable and won't get you pregnant any quicker. In fact stress can delay ovulation which in turn can delay af which can lead you to think you're pregnant and can lead to more stress which in turn can delay... you get the picture .

Relax, and if it is meant to be it will be.

And yes, I know how it is as I've been ttc for three years and highly unlikely to ever conceive another child. but allowing it to consume my life can only make things worse for me.

Disenchanted · 21/02/2008 22:36

Thanks wannabe,

we do make love at all times, not just around OV, but If i suspect its time then I will make the move on him, lol.

3 years is a long time to wait, i really hope it happens for you.

Agree with wannabe - have done the stressing side of it and it is pointless and doesn't help anyway.

lulu1414 · 21/02/2008 22:40

Can I join? I definitely need to moan tonight. I've not posted for ages to try to curb the obsession. I have been TTC for 16 months since a missed miscarriage in Oct 06. Finally feeling a bit better and then find out that one close friend is pregnant- an accident and then found out sil in expecting- also a total shock. I am happy for them, but feel like both are a slap in the face. I've been crying my eyes out. I just can't understand why it is taking so long. The baby we lost was conceived really quickly...

Sorry everyone- just needed to rant!

fruitloop79 · 21/02/2008 22:41

yeah, be good to have a good moan, ha ha. I'll note down your email x

Kewcumber · 21/02/2008 22:43

fruit loop - PCOS is the commonest casue of female sub-fertility if it were so hard to get pregnant with it the population of the human race would be falling! About 80% (IIRC) of PCOS'ers get pregnant using clomid and a furtehr proportion get pregnant using other drugs or otehr methods. You'd be very unlcky to fail completely - people like me are in the minority. Honest!

fruitloop79 · 21/02/2008 22:44

rant rant rant rant rant rant rant, ahhhhhh that's better

Disenchanted · 21/02/2008 22:47

PMSL,

I wish I could turn my feelings off, not just emotionally but physically too.

For example Im sat here with sore boobs and relatively strong AF cramps, but I cant be due AF yet, i really have no idea what the hells going on.

Id rather just not be able to feel it!!

lulu, please don't apologise for your 'rant'. My heart goes out to you for your loss. I know it seems so unfair, but have faith, it will happen to you. Have you spoken to your GP? It might be worthwhile considering you have been ttc for over a year.

fruitloop79 · 21/02/2008 22:48

hey kewcumber I remember you from the meetup page! I'm hoping for Clomid at my gynae appointment on 5th march!

Kewcumber · 21/02/2008 22:48

OPK's do work for some people with PCOS it depens on your hormone levels. Its expensive but if you want to use tehm, you need to test when you know you aren't ovulating to test that you're not getting a fals positive then test everyday until you OV or aorund then. Most commonaly OPK's give flase negative for PCOS but if you don;t get that then you're fine to use one. Very common to OV on differnt dasy though so you do need to use more kits.

Disenchanted · 21/02/2008 22:49

Hi Lulu!

Im so sorry for your loss

It must be so frustrating for you,

Rant away whenever you want, we are all in the same boat, just at different stages of the journey!

you ought to get it plus advice on diet and he/she may prescribe metformin too and advice you to lose wieght

fruitloop79 · 21/02/2008 22:50

Do you reckon we know too much? Maybe we're psychologically bringing these symptoms on ourselves??? Or maybe we just dont notice them when not TTC?

fruitloop79 · 21/02/2008 22:51

My weight's fine so I don't think I'll get metformin. But clomid would be fab! trying not to get my hopes up though cos I reckon they'll send me packing for loads of blood tests 1st

lulu1414 · 21/02/2008 22:52

IOM8- thanks, just feeling low. I have seen GP and specialist. Was put on clomid for 6 months and then recently had lap and dye. They found nothing wrong other than mild PCO. It just seems so wierd that everything is supposedly OK. To top it all off since the surgery I'm having bizarre cycles- 36 days, then 45 and then 21!!!

I tried an OPK for the first time today and can't make sense of it.

I have also just started using the ISIS scope. It showed ferns today and yesterday which would suggest OVing now or soon, but just stopped bleeding today! Any thoughts?

You may have a point there!

I did actually get a +ve OPK on CD36 but it's now CD60 and only just started spotting yesterday so I reckon that +ve was a wind up courtesy of the lovely PCOS! It was the only +ve OPK I've ever got, it was soooo exciting!

fruitloop79 · 21/02/2008 22:55

sorry to say it disenchanted but I think I have a point too!

iom08 · 21/02/2008 22:58

Your cycles are up the spout. Might not be completely unheard of to ovulate pretty much immediately after period has finished. I've never used the ISIS scope so can't really say much about it. I would go back to the GP and just get him to check your hormone levels.(LH and FSH) since your cycles have become erratic. Couldn't do any harm

iom08 · 21/02/2008 23:00

sorry, my last message was directed at lulu , just to add to the confusion !!

lulu1414 · 21/02/2008 23:14

Thanks, IOM08- I did wonder if it were possible to OV right after period. I have an appointment to go back to GP, but not until mid-March (she is only part-time). Just told DH about his brother's news. He is pretty upset too. Sometimes I forget that he is going through it all too!

Good to have company on these dark nights.

Disenchanted · 22/02/2008 09:24

Morning girls.

How are you this morning?

OP posts:
Disenchanted · 22/02/2008 12:42

Just been to the shops and seen the tiniest little baby ever!!

He was gorgeous! I asked 'how old' and he was 7 weeks! He looked about a week old!

And a lady who was fit to burst in the sandwich shop - she must have been having twins!

lulu1414 · 22/02/2008 12:54

Hi Disenchanted- hope you are feeling better today. Just a thought about your sore boobs and cramps... since my miscarriage I get really sore boobs from middle of cycle until AF starts. Never, ever had this before, but I understand it is hormone sensitive tissue reacting to changes in hormones. I have taken it that they must get sore right around OV time. Could this be possible? Could cramping be OV too?

As for me- feel better today. Did an OPK this morning and am sure the lines were the same... DH has just left for work and will be gone until Monday, but I hope the past couple day of DH might give us a shot... but after 16 months don't know why I still have hope!!!
