@Amy95 the pressure men feel is so sad. But then I think we put just as much pressure and more on ourselves as women to be able to get pregnant. It's all just pretty difficult from both sides when it's not working quickly!
Yeah you're so right! Life is short and you never know what your situation is gonna be in a few years time.. I don't want to put my life on hold anymore xx

dabs9 · 30/05/2023 13:13

@GeoSmed would the fertility check up do anything different than what we've had already?
I've had STI screening, fertility bloods (couple of times) including AMH levels, hycosy/internal ultrasound, husband sperm check and ultrasound of balls lol. Do you think it's worth having it all again to see if any changes?

We've been told they wouldn't offer us IUI due to the sperm and if treatment is required they'd go straight to ICSI. I wonder if private would be different though but if they wouldn't offer on NHS I'm not sure we'd want to risk wasting the money. It's all so difficult knowing what to do for the best isn't it. It's just a stab in the dark lol.

So do you just have 1 more scan before trigger?
I'm keeping everything crossed your 3 follicles keep growing and no more! Hahah. God, imagine having twins. It would honestly be the absolute dream! I hope you get that 🥰
Yeah I'm a midwife. I love it but I'm finding it difficult just now with my own fertility struggles, but have to remind myself not to be a self centred bitch and leave my own feelings at home haha. X

LeopardLover · 30/05/2023 13:21

GeoSmed · 30/05/2023 12:43

Can you imagine if they trigger 3? My husband said if we have triplets he's leaving with Mouse. twins is okay, triplets is making me hyperventilate! We'll see what they say tomorrow when we go back for another scan! I'm scared! I hate it when it gets close to ovulation as I know that theirs a possibility they'll have over stimmed and theirs too many for them to trigger. I get so nervous! But yes, manifest the twins, not the triplets please!

I have no clue about that song and what it is! The only hand washing song I know is happy birthday from covid haha! Defo wfh home vibes I can't deal with people at work on calls, so being in a room with them, I don't think I'd be able to hide my facial expressions of 'give a fuck'. Hope your new boss is settling in and you've had a call with her this morning.

Where are you going on holiday this year? @Amy95 has now made me want to book one!!!

Just think about all the matching clothes 🤣 Manifesting two!

I think it's from Cocomelon!? No idea 😅 Omgosh, I know. The office is so noisy! I'm really not productive in there haha. She's actually starting on Thursday (June). I need to get all my work done by then because I imagine we'll end up in loads of meetings. Should be easy as I've started off with another light week. Very unusual, gives me time to over obsess haha.

@Amy95 Ah lush, you'll have to best time! I want to book another holiday 🤣

LeopardLover · 30/05/2023 13:41

@dabs9 @chlx3 Haha so glad we're all in the same boat with our partners and their compliments 🤣❤️

@dabs9 Where are you thinking of going in South America? I visited many years ago, but hope to make it to Patagonia one day!

It's just so frustrating like come on🤣🥲x

dabs9 · 30/05/2023 13:50

@LeopardLover ah amazing, where did you visit in South America? We really want to spend as long there as we can and just travel around.
Definitely Peru and Brazil (we've set ourselves the goal of visiting all new 7 wonders of the world lol) but I'd love to go to Chile too. X

LeopardLover · 30/05/2023 13:57

@dabs9 Oh incredible! We did Peru, Bolivia, Chile... and passed through Argentina and Brazil (spent some time in Rio 💃🏻). Definitely recommended the Inca Trail and climbing Villarrica Volcano! Peru was my favourite 😍 Although Iguazu Falls is incredible! Would love to go back one day.

We met people travelling with little kids. Would love to be like that haha. I think we'll probably venture to New Zealand with kids one day but not more exotic that than.

dabs9 · 30/05/2023 14:05

@LeopardLover oh my goodness, that sounds amazing! I've screenshot your message for when we start planning our trip properly hahaha. Thank you for your recommendations.

Travelling with kids must be so different to just as a couple, in my mind now being childless, I plan for my maternity leave to be full of lovely abroad holidays! 🤪 I'm sure that's incredibly naive but I'll fool myself a little longer lol.

It really is pressure on both parties, life's far to short , when we first started ttc I stopped everything and months later I was like I'm just depressed from not socialising with my friends and said I'm not going to do that ever again , never put your life on hold xxx

Has anyone ever done postal progesterone blood test? (Via Superdrug or similar).
I'm considering doing one this month just to know for definite I didn't ovulate but don't wanna waste my time and money if they're crap.

No but I did a private clinic one in February when I had a vf positive then nothing but all the symptoms. It cost me £80 and had the results in less than 24hr to confirm I was not pregnant.

Literally haven't had chance to look at my emails for about 3 hours and the whole world has gone on on this thread in that time! 😂

@Amy95 & @dabs9 it is such a lot of pressure, and I totally feel them. Men have a pride thing, and i totally get it. It's almost seen as it's demasculating them and that they're not good enough etc. It's so sad, but I also can relate too. With the fertility being delayed due to me, I felt so guilty and I still do at times, that it's my fault and I even told him if he wanted to leave me and find someone not broken then i'd understand. It's ridiculous how we talk to ourselves isn't it?

@LeopardLover @Amy95 @dabs9 - nice has never been a complement ever!! I got the other side of it the other day, and showed him one of the dresses and got "it looks nice, but.... I dunno, the sleeves make it look a bit.... mumsy'' MUMSY!!!??? I ripped it off and sent it back within about 20 mins of that comment!

@LeopardLover your holiday sounds unbelievable! We're thinking of doing something similar this year, but it all depends. The past 4 years all our holidays have been a bit elaborate and different, and if we're pregnant come September (frickin better be!) then it rules out a lot of places. Where are you going this year? I'm dying for a holiday! I went away in Jan, but it was skiing and it wasn't exactly warm! haha xx

Mmmm not sure. I don't know what you've had, but you said you already know that your husband is a little low on the morphility right? I don't think they will then. Why hasn't your GP referred you if the results show that? We had to kick and scream to get everything going - it relied on me ringing them constantly and checking on it and pushing and asking for them to actually start moving things along. And even then it's still taken a year and a half, and we've had to pay privately in the background as we weren't willing to wait any longer! They're shocking sometimes honestly.

Oh that's interesting. My friend is in the same situation where they've been referred straight for ICSI as he has low count, morphology and motility poor bloke 😞It's so hard on what to do. WE started self funding while our fertility stuff ticked along with the NHS and then it's come through now for our IVF but we've obviously been paying for the ovulation induction on the side ourselves. Hopefully we won't need the funded IVF, but we'll see.

I have a scan tomorrow which is a progress one. They do day 7, 9 and then either 11 or 12 depending on how close they need to monitor you. They have to check me more regularly due to the PCOS and the chances of me going over stimmed again like before. So I have a scan tomorrow which is a progress scan on from yesterday to see what's been going on since our scan yesterday. Then depending on the results of that, we will be in probably friday but it depends on what they see in the one tomorrow. I know!!! I can't even think of it as I get so giddy! It would be cool if we had 2 release, as we would have 2 chances of getting pregnant rather than 1 so in theory, more likely to happen!

Awww not at all you can't help that you feel like that despite your job! It's totally not being selfish at all! IT's mad how much I thought midwives knew about fertility treatment you just assume that everyone involved in a birth knows everything haha

DuchessofSuffolk · 30/05/2023 17:43

Am going mad. Swear my body is starting to play tricks on me I have a weird metal taste in my mouth, which I googled, obviously and it said it could be a sign but also could be that I’ve injured myself somehow - probs the later. Normally a few days before my period I get quite tearful but atm I’m really happy. 3rd needs to come so I can get more of a sign and 6th can’t come soon enough!

dabs9 · 30/05/2023 17:55

@UKMummy2one thanks so much. I'll have a look into that. It's just so confusing and confirmation of what's happening with bloods would be so helpful!

dabs9 · 30/05/2023 18:03

@GeoSmed yeah we were referred by the GP to fertility in April 2022 and have been under them since then. Just having to wait the time until NHS will give us funded IVF basically 🙄

Ahh please keep us updated with your scans! I'm so excited for you!! 🥳 it must feel like such a relief knowing you're ovulating after so many years without. X

UKMummy2one · 30/05/2023 19:42

Managed to get the early detection from Boots but I can only see a wavy line here 😞 I waited 4 hr before testing.

I’ll do another tomorrow morning to make sure but not looking so positive now.

I can't believe your husband said a dress looked mumsy! Ded 🤣 that would be enough for me. Although, I wear Salt-Water sandals these days. I'm peak mum.

I love that you're into elaborate holidays! This was years ago and was a backpacking type thing. We did Australia, New Zealand and Fiji too! I miss big holidays. We always used to jet off for the weekend too. It's definitely possible to do that sorta thing with kids, if you have agreeable ones... We just got back from Portugal, Adolf wriggled out of his seat belt before landing and screamed and kicked... Wouldn't get back in. I had to just hold him in my lap (he was calm looking out the window) but geez.

Where are you thinking of going in September? I fancy going back to Portugal. Or maybe the balerics. Somewhere easy with the wild child! I also miss city breaks but they aren't so fun with a toddler. Fine with a baby who can't answer back 😅

Good luck for tomorrow! Hopefully the conditions are perfect 😍 what time of day is your scan? Xx

Yes! And then we can decide on their names 😉 do you have any names in the bank? Names are impossible with my husband because we disagree.

Oh lordy, have you got your head around GA4? I keep hearing people complain about it! So I probably said she's starting this week.
