Just got this line at 10DPO. Afternoon urine after feeling rough all day. This is my first time TTC and my second cycle. I don't want to get hubbys hopes up yet. Should I wait a few more days? Ahhhh! No one knows we're TTC any advice would keep me calm! 💕

@NalaNana Congratulations! I know what you mean, at one point I was so anxious I was testing morning and night and then spiralling at the difference 🤦🏻‍♀️

katherine123x · 08/02/2023 08:58

@NalaNana I think I'm going to do that too. My first and second positive was in the afternoon after a 3 hour hold! This morning I just could not wait!!

I'm also 10 DPO. I have a fainter line than yours but it's there. Hoping it develops!

katherine123x · 08/02/2023 09:41

@BoyMamaChloe @NalaNana

I know it's a bit keen but when are you planning on telling your nearest? We are extremely close with our parents so I would want them to know once it's more confirmed.

@blebbleb good luck! When is AF due?

OP posts:
blebbleb · 08/02/2023 09:45

Saturday or Sunday, I forget which day! I had a missed miscarriage in December so I'll only share it with my husband for now. Already have a 2 year old boy.

katherine123x · 08/02/2023 09:48

@blebbleb oh so sorry to hear that. I hope this time is yours!!

@katherine123x I had an ectopic pregnancy last June so we didn't tell anyone at all until 6 weeks as I had an NHS scan then to make sure it was in the right place. At 6 weeks I told a couple of my closest friends! I'm close with my parents but my mum suffered through miscarriages so I knew it would only stress her out to find out before 12 weeks, so I let my parents know then.

24 weeks today and announced on social media following the 20 week scan!

katherine123x · 08/02/2023 10:24

@NalaNana so pleased for you!! I bet that was a lovely feeling!

I just want to get passed Friday ... then I can allow myself to trust it!

@katherine123x it's entirely up to you when you decide to tell people. I've told a close friend, just to be able to share my anxiety etc. We would probably keep it between us until 12 weeks but as we have a 2 year old we may tell parents sooner so that they can support a bit more with some childcare etc to give me a break lol x

badgergirly · 08/02/2023 10:36

I'd say you are pregnant. Congrats hun! xx

katherine123x · 08/02/2023 10:43

@BoyMamaChloe that's a good idea. I might need to tell someone just to share the anxiety of it all. Probably my mum! 😂

@badgergirly thank you! Just hoping it sticks now!!

@katherine123x

I had my second and final baby last year.

You never stop bloody worry from start to finish! Good luck will keep everything crossed for you 🤞🏻 Exciting times!

katherine123x · 08/02/2023 11:06

Thank you!! @badgergirly ..

I know this a really silly question, when do you have to tell your doctor?

Thank you ladies for all of your advice so far!! It's really helping when I have no one to ask! 💗💗

I would give it a week or 2 then ring the reception. They'll book you in for a booking appointment at around 8 weeks and then at that appointment they will start to arrange your first scan.

BoyMamaChloe · 08/02/2023 11:11

@katherine123x you self-refer online to the midwife team in your area and they'll contact you to arrange your booking appt before 10 weeks. You can do this as soon as you find out you're pregnant as doctors don't really see you when you find out anymore x

katherine123x · 08/02/2023 11:11

@badgergirly perfect!! I will do that - thank you!

Check the website of your areas trust. Where I am you self refer to the maternity unit and then have a booking appointment at 8 weeks. GPS won’t see you anymore.

SnookyPook · 08/02/2023 11:13

@katherine123x ah congratulations! Love all the positive stories! With my first I rang GP straight away as thought thats what you do. They told me to ring midwife base as they aren't involved in pregnancy. Midwife base said to call again closer to 8wks. Was all a bit of an anticlimax! Haha.

We told everyone after 12wk scan! A couple of relatives had experienced early losses etc so I knew people wouldn't be able to relax and enjoy the news if I told them too early (and I couldn't quite believe it would be fine until that first scan either!) - not sure if I'd take the same approach this time. Might be nice to share anxieties etc and if the worst were to happen, to get more support through it. Just go with what feels right to you and your partner. There's no right or wrong.

RoseBucket · 08/02/2023 11:14

Congratulations! It’s def not one of those tests where you have to really concentrate to try and see a line, it’s very very clear.

katherine123x · 08/02/2023 11:20

@SnookyPook thank you for that! I will hold off then and see if I can find a number or something! I can agree. That's anticlimactic!! Thank you, I am just keen to try and not get ahead of myself!!

@RoseBucket thank you! I'm hoping it gets even darker!!! The temptation is KILLING ME! 😂

@BoyMamaChloe thank you!!! I mixed them up and covered the days and asked hubby which he thought was darkest 😂😂 I was so sure yet my mind was saying "no, you're imagining it!" 😂
Definitely afternoon urine for me! So will hold off until tomorrows afternoon. I know I won't be able to not do one tomorrow at all so I may aswell accept that now 😂
