Posted in pregnancy but realised that's the wrong topic so reposting here

I'm currently undergoing fertility treatment for PCOS. My cycles are extremely long and they stopped scanning weekly at 5 weeks and said to try again next month but that it could still happen on that round. In order to start a cycle I have to take provera, I finished 5 days of provera on Thursday after taking a negative test on day 1.

The last 2 days my breasts have been unbearably sore. I usually get slight tenderness before a period but nothing like this.

I should technically start a period in the next few days but this morning something told me to take another test because of the soreness.

This is the test (hopefully you can see pic) and to me it looks like a faint positive. It's only a cheap Asda test and I did get some wee on the control window but its one of the ones where it's got a plastic covered window and still seemed to work as normal.

What would you do? Can provera cause incorrect results or could I actually be pregnant? Or do you think it's just because I got wee on the window

It looks positive but for the reasons you gave (wee on window, other drugs) I would wait until tomorrow, use first morning urine and dip the test rather than trying to hold it and weeing.

Congratulations though - looks like it’s a positive!

Thank you all! I think like @Scarydinosaurs said I'll hold of until tomorrow morning to be sure. I think after over a year of negatives I'm just trying to explain it away!!

I did another test like an hour later because I couldn't help myself and it was negative, but I'm trying to ignore that and do another one in the morning to hopefully get a more definite answer!

@monsteramunch I totally know how you feel which is why I'm trying not to get my hopes up about this just yet x

It’s so tricky not to test again! But it may have been negative as you didn’t have a chance to hold the urine for the levels to be strong enough. Try again today and see what it comes up with! crossed fingers for you 😊

Tested again this morning and a BFN :(

Also spots of blood so looks like AF is arriving

@Ihatepcos you say your period would have been due soon? I had quite a lot of spotting over a few days when my period was due, and I know someone who actually had period like bleeds for the first two months when pregnant.

Sorry to read about the negative test. Seems to be a lot of people on here that are getting faint positives and then getting negatives recently. Very strange.

@CZ9294 i have no idea what DPO I'm on as I think I ovulated late with my symptoms so I could be anywhere from 11 - 15 DPO 😭

I had one faint positive last week and then 4.negatives since, last one being last night 😒 AF symptoms are all ramping up now alongside nausea etc. So I really have no idea what's going on. But I'm doubtful I'm PG.

How are you getting on this cycle

@CZ9294 and now my brown discharge has started, I had this when pregnant with my 2nd but this feels different. Its constant on wiping. Sorry for TMI.

Seems I'm not the only one getting mixed signals.

It was just the one little spot of blood this morning and then nothing since, that's strange for me because I never usually spot before a period. Also last time I took provera I started a period 3 days later and it's now been 5 days. Very strange

@Ihatepcos really sorry to hear your cycle is playing silly buggers with you 😞 how has the rest of the day been?

Typically my FRER tests turned up just as my brown discharge turned red 😞 so going by that I think I ovulated 27th and my DTD on 28th and 29th obviously just missed the target. I know we weren't trying this month but honestly I'm pretty gutted, now wondering if I really do want to wait the year before trying.

@Ihatepcos I don’t think you’re out yet to be honest. If you are a FRER would give a decent line based on your first test. Good luck!

Thank you, the rest of the day was normal and there has been no more bleeding since the tiny spot in the morning.

Sorry to hear you're disappointed, I waited before starting and really wish I hadn't, if that helps!

Any ideas where I would be able to get one This morning? If I can hold my wee for that long now I'm awake!

I've got a clear blue digital, do you think that's good enough or shall I go to try and get a free? X

Any major supermarket will do one, not usually any problems with stock. If you can’t hold it just take a sample in a clean pot and use that when you’re home :)

Thank you! I might test this morning with the clear blue digital I have at home and if this is anything other than BFN I'll grab some frer this morning x
