Hi - I have just had my positive OPK & CB digital ovulation and expecting ovulation in the next few days. Weirdly I had stopped tracking for a while due to irregular cycles and just had an urge to test today!

DTD today and plan to for the next few days (sorry tmi!) but wondered if anyone else is on the TWW - it would be nice to have talk and share our experiences 😀

@Hopefulx AF arrived today.... gutted but happy to start a fresh cycle and hopefully the vitamins are going to help regulate them! Acupuncture has been shown to have good fertility benefits as well as regulating cycles and improving egg quality. I'm hoping more than anything just to get some regular cycles!

I'm unusure whether to start BBT testing this month or just go with OPK's and DTD every other day. What's everyone's thoughts?

@AROSE9 i’m sorry to feel that, but as you said it means you can get on to the next cycle instead of being left in limbo waiting for AF.

Personally I would just dtd every other day (or more) as I think even if you track bbt it can suddenly change and then you may have missed ov by the time you realise.

Sb86 · 12/01/2023 15:31

@AROSE9 sorry to hear that af has arrived, you get to a point where you'd just rather it come and a new cycle start than live in limbo don't you!

I bbt with natural cycles but stopped once confirmed ovulation as I didn't need any extra worries about temp dropping and such after.

I've been spotting and cramping since 7dpo currently 10 dpo so I'm convinced that I'm out this month but ordered some b6 vits for next cycle to try and up my progesterone levels. Going to test Monday or Tuesday if af doesn't arrive as don't want to be disappointed, waste a test and to be honest I think it would be pointless.

Blooming ttc is a complete head and body fk!

Sb86 · 12/01/2023 15:32

I can't believe I tried to be good by using blooming and still dropped the F bomb 😳🤣🙈 apologies!

PrimarilyParented · 12/01/2023 19:38

@Sb86 😆 that did make me chuckle.

cd35 and no sign of AF still. I just don’t know what’s going on tbh.

PrimarilyParented · 13/01/2023 18:11

More spotting tonight and pretty sure it’s AF starting now. Glad to be on to the next cycle to be honest.

Sb86 · 13/01/2023 18:23

@PrimarilyParented I'm still spotting and cramping, I've made a docs app today but won't get seen until 2nd of Feb so will be near my next tww. I want to try it differently next cycle so I'm not stressing as much, got vit b tablets so starting to take them from now. I've not been going to the gym like I usually would and that doesn't help my mood either so defo need to be doing something active!* *

I'd rather af just come so I know I'm defo out and can start the next cycle than this crappy spotting malarkey! Will we stay on this thread or has there been a new one made?

PrimarilyParented · 14/01/2023 08:31

@Sb86 i don’t know if there’s a new thread.

I’m sorry it will take so long to see the doctor. If you’re spotting and in any significant pain I would call again to speak to them and say there is a chance you’re pregnant and due to the risk of an eptopic they ought to see you urgently or refer you to the epu to be scanned. Only if the pains are bad though.

I’m certain my period is here now and frankly just relieved. Last month was incredibly stressful at the start so I reckon I may not have ovulated at all but if I did it must have been very late.

Sb86 · 14/01/2023 10:28

@PrimarilyParentedoh no I don't need to see a doc because I think that, the cramping has been like period cramps and brown spotting. I think af will arrive Monday as it says on my app but after googling I think my progesterone levels may be low. That might have had something to do with my mc back in October and the day before I started bleeding I had a blood test so I'm going to see if they can access those results.

Do you track ovulation and use the tests? I know the tests only really tell us when our body is getting ready to ovulate and not if we defo do. I hope this next cycle is less stressful for you 🙏🏼

Sb86 · 15/01/2023 19:11

Well I'm out af arrived last night, had a little cry 😢 but I'm like right onto next cycle, let's try things a little different!

How's everyone else getting on?

PrimarilyParented · 15/01/2023 22:14

@Sb86 i’m sorry to hear that AF arrived. We all need a little cry sometimes and it is gutting when AF arrived and you desperately don’t want it to.

getting progesterone checked is a good idea. As I’m only on cycle 1 of ttc I’m taking it is easy and not testing for ovulation or anything. Tbh me and dp dtd all the time anyway so I’m not too worried that we‘ll mistime things, just have got to see whether we’re lucky each month. I’ve mentally got the 6 month mark in my head and so hopefully won’t get too stressed about not conceiving until after that (or even better won’t need to if we conceive sooner than that).

Sb86 · 15/01/2023 23:01

@PrimarilyParented

I don't know why we do to be honest as we are at it all the time really but I think because we are actively trying we just want to up our chances. We are both older and have children from previous relationships but we really want a baby together. I'd also like to have a baby with someone who gives a toss and I know that he is amazing with all our children so to have that would be great. If it doesn't happen for us then I'll be gutted but I also count my blessings. I think I'm even more upset because we were pregnant together and I couldn't believe we'd be parents together and then for it to mc well it broke me. So getting af is like a painful reminder of all that and brings it back that it's another month etc etc. So many different emotions and things going through my head.

Fingers crossed for you getting your bfp soon then and everyone else, I'm really rooting for everyone 🤞🏼❤️

PrimarilyParented · 17/01/2023 20:17

@Sb86 i am so sorry for your loss and can only imagine how hard it is each month that you don’t conceive.

I could have written the rest of your post though. Also both got kids from previous relationships who all love each other to pieces and I can’t wait to add one more and complete our family together. My partner is an incredible dad to his children and I’ve always been a lone parent so it’s incredible to see him being that and a fantastic step-dad to boot. Being with him is what made me want another child.

Sb86 · 18/01/2023 09:07

@PrimarilyParented thankyou, yeah it's gutting especially seeing so many pregnancy announcements on fb around the time our little ones due date should have been. I've had to unfollow a few people just because it's so upsetting, even though I'm happy for them I don't want to see it constantly.

How old are you if you don't mind me asking? I'm 36 and my youngest child is 14 in March so massive age gap but we both just love family. Same as you my partner is a brilliant dad and that makes me want a baby even more.

PrimarilyParented · 19/01/2023 21:00

@Sb86 unfollowing is sometimes the best thing to do. They’ll never know and it’s easier for you.

i’m 32 and have a 4 year old. Oldest step child is 12 and so I think adding one more now is a great time as my DS is off to school soon but also the step kids are young enough to still enjoy having a sibling. I don’t know what won my DP round really as he went from maybe, to definitely no more (with me going the other way to desperately wanting one) and then after taking some time he totally shocked me by saying we should go for it. I couldn’t be more thrilled as I know it will be amazing having a child together and that all our existing children will be the best big siblings imaginable. I grew up always saying I wanted 5 kids and I am so excited that that might actually happen.

PrimarilyParented · 31/01/2023 20:18

@Sb86 how are you getting on this month? Anyone else still on this thread?

I’m pretty sure I’m in the 2ww now based on cm and despite not planning to use them I saw £2 packs of Opks in Asda and thought what the hell and used a few. No line Friday, strong almost positive line Sunday and no line again today so I’m sure I surged over the weekend at some point. Trying to just relax now for the next few weeks.

Mrsrobinsonx · 31/01/2023 21:48

@PrimarilyParented still here 👋🏻
currently 6dpo x

PrimarilyParented · 31/01/2023 22:20

Hi @Mrsrobinsonx its good to know I’m not alone. How are you feeling this month?

Mrsrobinsonx · 01/02/2023 07:34

@PrimarilyParented umm tbh I don’t feel much 😂 at the moment I feel totally normal, last month was very different and had quite a few ‘symptoms’ but so far nothing, probably all start this week now I’m due on in 1 week.

So do you think you’re about 3dpo? X

Sb86 · 01/02/2023 08:56

Hey @PrimarilyParented I'm in the 2ww but not really sure how many dpo I am. Trying to take a more relaxed approach this month and will just see if af arrives or not. Haven't measured bbt like usual but did do a couple of lh tests and the clearblue digital ovulation tests however one day it didn't work so not sure if the static smiley I got the day after would have been showing that day too. I'm pretty sure we covered all bases though so just a case of waiting now. Fingers crossed for our BFPs 🤞🏼

Hopefulx · 01/02/2023 11:38

@PrimarilyParented hey! Yes still here, currently 6 DPO but hubby felt too pressured this time and we only dtd once, the night before ovulation, so I haven’t got much hope for this month! I tracked temp to confirm ovulation but have stopped to try and relax a little.

Got frustrated last week as I don’t always ovulate every month so was upset we only dtd once - but like they say it only takes one strong little swimmer so I guess there is still a small chance!

How are you and everyone on this thread getting on? xx

PrimarilyParented · 01/02/2023 21:53

@Mrsrobinsonx it seems that no symptoms is a sign of a BFP for some people and for others loads of symptoms is, so really none of us know and we just have to wait it out. I think I probably ovulated on Saturday/Sunday so yeah 3/4dpo roughly.

@Sb86 we covered all bases too so 🤞

@Hopefulx it really does only take once, plenty of people seem to find the month they take it easier is the one they get pregnant on while months they’ve been at it every day they don’t. I hope this month proves that theory correct for you.

MrsL22 · 01/02/2023 21:57

Hi all! Been pretty quiet in here this month - I’ve been trying to play it cool and not stress over it all. I stopped testing and now I’m pretty sure I ovulated last Friday from ewcm on Thursday and mild pain in right side on Friday. My boobs have been so tender since Sunday and my gums are sore/bleeding so now I’m driving myself mad again wondering what it means and googling every little symptom! How do I stop?! 😂🙈

Mrsrobinsonx · 02/02/2023 07:40

@PrimarilyParented the last time I got bfp I didn’t have many symptoms in tww but it was a chemical so that could have been why.
yes it’s so annoying how pms and pregnancy basically make you feel the same 🤦‍♀️

@MrsL22 my boobs were tender after ovulation this month as still are a tiny bit but nothing to write home about 😂
I’ve heard that bleeding gums is a good sign as the increased blood volume that comes with pregnancy. 🤞🏻

MrsL22 · 02/02/2023 07:55

@Mrsrobinsonx as much as I am trying to stay positive, I know it is far too early for me to be pregnant or have any symptoms 😂🙈 possibly just caused by rise in progesterone after ovulation but that will probably die off 😢
