Anybody 1DPO?

Bit of background, we’ve been trying to concieve
for 11 years and I was diagnosed with PCOS, we successfully got pregnant on clomid in 2016 sadly ended in miscarriage at 11 weeks. Due to getting married we held off for a while plus covid got in the way. So now we’re trying again I’m back on clomid after losing some lbs and adopting a more healthy life style, I’ve successfully ovulated this month which feels like a massive achievement.

Here’s to our 🌈
never giving up. #1DPO

@PCOSunfortunately - it would be amazing! There's only my husband and sister in law that know we're trying again so they're both like bottles of pop at the minute waiting to explode 🤣

@MR5TD4 the post about looking at a sperm made me laugh. I had the same fear and thought it was easy to end up pregnant with quads.

Yolo23 · 17/11/2022 22:12

@PCOSunfortunately no further investigations so far - the ovulation appeared to be normal before when I had tests and I had a smiley stay on when I done the digital ov test for the very first time this month! I’m now fully on the bandwagon with testing for ovulation and currently down the slippery slope of timing it precisely 🤣 I’m 31 in March, trying for our first. Fingers crossed to you my lovely 🥰 what CD are you currently on? I speak as if I know what I’m talking about 😂 only found out what that means myself just now (I’m CD20).

PCOSunfortunately · 18/11/2022 08:25

@Yolo23 wishing you all the luck in the world for this cycle ✨ that's promising that you've had your smiley on your digital! Are your cycles usually regular? Oh yeah the TTC sex is not fun when it's timed and definitely not spontaneous! I'm cycle day 1 haha my AF came yesterday evening so it's a fresh new cycle for me 😊 love that we're all the same age! xxx

Whey atleast AF has arrived so you can start a fresh! Maybe a BFP just before Christmas!!

I'm dying to test but it's pointless I'm on 7DPO..slowest two weeks of my life!

Eeeek!! You can't test yet don't do it to yourself! How you feeling still hungry? Yes it arrived!! Finally! Start my 3rd cycle of clomid tomorrow! Fingers crossed would be the best present ever! Cheeky question and you don't have to answer if you don't want to but how's everyone's partners sperm analysis?

Scrumpy10 · 19/11/2022 08:05

@PCOSunfortunately Good luck for this cycle.

Would be great if we were all pregnant by Christmas!

I wanted to answer your question on sperm. So about 3 years ago now my husband got tested and was told of issues he would get a call back. He didn't hear anything and my test results were positive so we carried on trying. Then after 6 months we went back to the GP and found there was an issue with the sperm with just 7% motility and low volume. By now we were all living in the pandemic so that slowed everything down. He had further test same results. Referred to a urologist. We also paid to see a private urologist as by this point we were both getting older and wanted to explore our options. Outcome was we needed ICSI and so self funding this is our first cycle. If this does not work going to have a break and try again April/May time.

Sorry for slightly long message. I wanted to tell the story as for months I was blaming myself as people would always give me advice to just relax and it will happen and it made me feel really bad.

It's not cheeky, and mine come back above average so the issue was definitely me 🙄 - and I'm not going to I'm holding out as long as possible however I think Monday I'll cave ! 🤣

@Scrumpy10 - the worst advice on this planet is "just relax it will happen" people who say this generally haven't had any issues the next best is is so and so went on holiday for a break and it just happened after trying so hard..believe you and me we've been on enough holidays I know 100% that's not going work.

Stay strong 💪🏼 you've got this 🤞🏼 for you BFP soon!! Christmas BFPs for us all would be amazing, if we don't get a bfp this cycle we have a chance to just get one in before Christmas! Maybe we should write a letter to 🎅🏼 🤣

PCOSunfortunately · 19/11/2022 17:34

@Scrumpy10 really hope this round of ICSI works for you both 🤞 although your funding it yourself is it available on the NHS? Yes it's the worse when people say just relax stop thinking about it! I'm like mate how can I stop thinking about it when we're on so much medication. Even when I say medication they think stop the meds. I'm like without meds I wouldn't ovulate at all! People just don't understand! I'm so glad we can all talk on here about things and we all understand ❤️ how many days past transfer are you now?

@MR5TD4 that's good news for you and your partner isn't it how are you feeling today?

My partners sperm is under average 😔 his morphology is 3 which the gynaecologist shook his head at but said he has a high volume so it shouldn't make much of a difference. But you can't help wonder if that why were not. Catching 😫

MR5TD4 · 19/11/2022 17:43

@PCOSunfortunately - the worlds cruel unfortunately for us 🥺

I thought about going private for ovarian drilling because not once has the NHS offered me that and it's meant to be brilliant for those with PCOS completely resets your hormones apparently!

OP posts:
PCOSunfortunately · 19/11/2022 17:48

@MR5TD4 I went privately for my clomid because of NHS waiting times. In October when the hospital finally called and I'd already started my clomid they said there's nothing else they can do and if this doesn't work we would be referred for IVF this is on my doctors notes. I said well in between the referral can I have ovarian drilling and he said no as clomid gives the same 80% chance that ovarian drilling does. He said if it won't work with clomid it won't work with ovarian drilling. I thought fabulous 🤦🏼‍♀️ they're so helpful ain't they! How are you feeling today any new symptoms? xx

Scrumpy10 · 19/11/2022 19:41

@PCOSunfortunately today is day 6 passed 5 day transfer. Blood test Tuesday but might take a couple of days to get results.

We have not told anyone we are giving it ago as previously mentioned we might do it and a few different people questioned the meds and ethics of it all. We got no where with the NHS. I think bit of a postcode lottery.

I know few people who it's worked for they seem to offer if after clomid.I'm feeling okay just dog tired I had an hour nap yesterday and then went to bed a few hours later and slept through woke up this morning still feeling exhausted..and I can't stop eating 🤦🏽‍♀️ trying not to think to much into it! My sister in law is the only person in the family who knows we're trying again and she's dying for me to test tomorrow which will be 9DPO but I really think it's still to early 🫣

It's terrible how the NHS works! I had to change hospital to be honest my original one I saw a different doctor each time I went and all I got was lose more weight lose more weight which anybody with PCOS knows it's not as easy as it might be for others...so I changed to another hospital and got my meds on the first appointment! Crazy by my gyno is me at to be world class so I'm lucky really it's just a nightmare to see him at the moment because of the back logs..hopefully you have brilliant news very soon 🤞🏼🤞🏼
