Chemical Pregnancies - I'm looking for success stories after them please

I'm 37, after suffering a MMC and MC a few years ago I am now trying with a new partner. After just four months TTC I found out I was pregnant last Sunday at 9DPO. I couldn't believe it but we have had him tested and he's very fertile - I've been ovulating every month after losing two stone specifically

Now this morning it seems it's chemical, I have no bleeding (yet) had a ton of pregnancy symptoms and I'm completely devastated. I am looking for success stories after CP please to give me a little hope that I will one day become a mum 🥺💔

I had a chemical in Jan at the age of 36. Fell pregnant again on February and now I'm 33 weeks along. I hope it all works out for you.

MrsAlexander · 01/10/2022 08:39

Thank you so much for your reply @WandaVon - it's exactly what I needed to hear. My period would have been due in the next few days but the text still has a faint positive. Did yours come on time? x

@MrsAlexander sorry to hear about your losses. I'm 34. My husband and I started TTC in January 2020 and we thought we were so lucky as the first ever attempt we got our BFP! A week later I was bleeding and we realised it was a chemical. We had another BFP in August that year but the same happened again. Started to worry at that point but kept trying. We didn't get our next BFP until April 2021 and to be honest when it happened I was just waiting for the loss to happen again it wasn't a positive feeling. I bled at 7 weeks and knew it was happening again however this time the pregnancy tests lines were still strong and it turned out to be a successful pregnancy! So it was third time lucky with a 16 month wait but it goes to show it can happen. My little one is 9 months now. Please try and keep positive it's horrible to suffer but it can definitely happen. I also didn't change anything on that successful pregnancy I was so tempted to start taking all sorts to try and make it stick but in the end I thought if it's going to be a chemical there's nothing I can do to stop it.

Thanks so much @2020mission - I cried reading your story (I cry at everything right now of course!) This is this morning’s test. Most symptoms I had are now gone so I’m just desperately waiting for the bleeding to start so I can move forward. Did your period come on time or delayed and if so - do you remember how long by? My period would have been due in the next few days x

@MrsAlexander both times I tested at about 11 DPO. My bleeding came at around 5 weeks so the period was at least a week late. It was the tests getting fainter than was my first sign of the chemicals so I was similar and just waiting for the bleed. It's a horrible time and there's always a bit of you hoping it's just faulty test sticks or maybe just a later implantation. It's really tough but all you can do is try to keep positive. My husband was better at keeping positive I remember just crying in those following days both times.

MrsAlexander · 01/10/2022 09:24

@2020mission I was terrible on Thursday when I realised what was happening and I think of the past day or so I've come to terms with it to a certain extent. My massive positive is that I got pregnant on my fourth cycle! That's the earliest ever! Did you try right away? Of course I'm hoping that I am back pregnant in the next few months but we shall see x

I’ve read on here that you’re more fertile after a chemical.
I had a chemical in August (last period) and I’m now 4+4. BFP 12 DPO (say period was due), it was negative 2 days before but has gotten stronger and stronger since that first test.
Symptoms much, much stronger this time, I’ve already had to be prescribed drugs for sickness and had horrific cramps.
Good luck for next month 🤞

MrsAlexander · 01/10/2022 10:45

Congratulations @skyofdiamonds How wonderful. Can you tell me how long your period took to come? Was it late? This gives me so much hope ♥️ seriously, thank you x

No, mine was later than usual. I'm usually 23 days like clock work but it was more like 30 days that time. So keep DTD!

MrsAlexander · 01/10/2022 11:11

Oh I certainly will 😉 @WandaVon I was thinking potentially a week late ish so hopefully that's the case. Thank you again for taking the time to reply to me x

I'm 38, I had a chemical in cycle 6 and got pregnant again on cycle 8, this time I'm 36 weeks now!

My chemical lasted 12 days after my first positive test so period was about 10 days late but from the first day of bleeding I ovulated only a day or 2 later than usual, had a much heavier period that month and had a positive test the one after

MrsAlexander · 01/10/2022 13:10

Awww congratulations! What amazing news that you are so far along now 🥹 @justanotherlaura - At least I am now prepared for what to expect and hold a massive amount of hope that this was a trial run for my rainbow 🌈 x

Sorry @MrsAlexander, it must be heartbreaking - I had a chemical and a MMC since starting TTC last year and even though time wasn’t my friend, had to take a few months ‘off’ to take care of my sanity. Fell pregnant in my first cycle since restarting, 18 weeks now and all okay. I’m 36 and this will be my first. Wish you all the luck in the world x

MrsAlexander · 01/10/2022 16:21

I can totally understand you taking a break, it's such a mental thing too @SiberFox a congratulations on your pregnancy now! I hope it all goes well and that I'm not too far behind you. Thank you for getting me hope x

i had a chemical in July and just going through one now. Everyone keeps telling me how fertile you are after a chemical so I’m keeping everything crossed and trying as soon as the bleeding stops. I’ve self prescribed aspirin and vitamin b6, double folic acid and pregnacare! Might sound mad but I’m absolutely desperate to not go through a third so fingers crossed xx

MrsAlexander · 01/10/2022 21:36

Awww @bubble55 I'm so sorry you've had two of these. I should be getting my AF over the next few days but as yet all I've had is cramps today which came and went. I literally haven't had any spotting at all. You've gotten pregnant again pretty quickly so fingers crossed that it will happen again but this will be a sticky one ♥️ x

2020mission · 02/10/2022 12:18

Sorry to hear that @bubble55 I almost went in with aspirin on my next BFP but read something saying it can actually hinder implantation so that scared me off. I didn't take any supplements for my sticky BFP. Unfortunately it's just bad luck with chemicals and a lot of the time it seems to be chromosome problems that lead to the chemical and you can't correct that with supplements. Fingers crossed you catch again soon!

bubble55 · 02/10/2022 14:47

@2020mission how long did it take you to get your BFP?

LadyApplejack · 02/10/2022 15:18

Sorry about your MCs, it's probably just back luck. Before my last child I had an early miscarriage in the November, followed by 2 chemicals in the January and March, and I was definitely concerned. Got pregnant again in the May which continued normally.

2020mission · 02/10/2022 16:03

@bubble55 after the first chemical it was 6 months until the next BFP which was another chemical. I then had 9 months until the next BFP and that pregnancy stuck. Definitely didn't seem to make me more fertile in the following months.

TheSimpleLife88 · 02/10/2022 16:13

I had a chemical in January. Got pregnant in May.
When I got this BFP it was a much stronger line than before and I just had a feeling this one was going to stick, even though I was apprehensive and didn't get my hopes up. I also stopped testing before 14dpo as I was getting obsessive and it doesn't make a difference to the outcome.

S2357 · 02/10/2022 16:33

MarmaRell78 · 07/10/2022 14:08

@MrsAlexander when did your period come in the end? How are you getting on now?
I think maybe I had a chemical, and have spotting but no actual period and negative tests, so I'm wondering how long is normal for the bleeding to come. Partner is telling me to ring 111 😂 as if!

MrsAlexander · 07/10/2022 20:11

Well @MarmaRell78 - I feel like so much has happened since I last posted!

On Tuesday I did a cheapie strip and got a slightly more prominent line than the day before which utterly through me. I decided to test again on Wednesday with both a cheap strip and a CB digital (tight but they're expensive so I begrudge using them!) anyway, I wanted to see if it said more than 1-2 or maybe not pregnant! I had no idea. Wednesday Cheapie test was very faint again but CB said pregnant 1-2 weeks - the same as last week!

It was then I thought I need to speak to the doctor so I called and she said I needed blood tests to find out what was going on and then the mention of ectopic which has scared the life out of me. I've been referred to the hospital, I had a blood test that afternoon (I should be five weeks) which came back as 19 HCG. I was prepared for it to be low as I think I'll be miscarrying.

I had my second test this morning and I told myself I FULLY expect it to decrease and it's come back as 26! It's no where near the doubling expected so now they want me to have another on Sunday... everyone's telling me to think positive but I'm not convinced x
