Ok, here we go then, best foot fwd everyone!

My goal: gym three times a week and not catching the bus to work - it's only a 15 min walk!

munnzieb · 26/11/2004 18:38

my goal, to swim twice a week and do at least 40 lengths, also to get my instant abs machine out and use for 10 minutes each day (to start with)

Tania2 · 26/11/2004 21:34

Iam in girls back to walking 2 laps around my local lake pushing ds in the pram. and will start my detox diet next week too. This better work well if it doesnt then we will all look and feel better!!!
Good luck girls

ernest · 27/11/2004 13:56

ok my goal - walk ds to playgroup & back on Fridays & trampette every other day. (crap start really as I'm going on holiday in a few days, so will miss 1st goal anyway, but the intention is there!)

pooka · 27/11/2004 15:15

My goal - gym twice a week and 30 sit ups per day.

runtus · 29/11/2004 08:22

I'm in - my goal, get to the gym at least twice a week and start detox diet......

ernest · 29/11/2004 09:23

so how's it gonna work - when do we sign in & confess (sorry - that's a nag. start!) or say we've stuck to it - every Friday?

runtus · 29/11/2004 10:42

I think we need to agree a day to sign in and confess our weeks progress..Friday probably best?

runtus · 29/11/2004 10:43

OK, I failed at the first hurdle - meant to restart at the gym on Saturday but unexpected guests turned up.

But will start TOMORROW (probably). Aim is to go the gym three times a week, but I will forgive myself if it is only twice. May also try to do 50 sit-ups another 2/3 days a week, but only if i can be arsed.

Aim is to get a bit fitter and more fertile, NOT to get slimmer.

Happy to report in on Fridays! Do you think we should appoint a sergeant-major for that bit of discipline? Twiga?

Hulababy · 29/11/2004 11:17

Haven't got any 'proper' exercise goals, but determined to spend at least half of one day a week, walking more. So later today I will be walking into and around, and back from town whilst doing the Christmas shopping. not exercise as such, but better than nothing - and more healthy than grabbing a tram to Meadowhall.

I am also continuing with the WW points diet, after a weekend off.

Nikkichik · 29/11/2004 12:10

Don't really do any structured exercise other than walk everywhere - ie. to nursery (5 mins), to work (20 mins), so reckon that should be OK (and Gym Joyes with dd!). I don't do running and having big boobs and juming up and down is quite painful (despite a well fitting sports bra). Used to do yoga after work but our yoga teacher had a fatal heart attack about 6 weeks ago which was all very tragic - he was such a chilled out guy and had the most soothing voice you can imagine! Haven't got round to finding a new class yet!
Dh has bullied me into virtually giving up the wine and I've had to change my diet due to being wheat/gluten/dairy sensitive, so ...... bring it on!!!!!

Twiga · 29/11/2004 12:19

Made it to the gym yesterday! Hester not sure if I'm scarey enough for that role and am probably amongst the most likely to miss my target . Fridays sound like a good day to check in.

Alright you 'orrible lot............

OP posts:
geordie · 29/11/2004 12:24

Nikkichik- I am also sensitive to various food products....the month I was really good was also the month I was very active.....my reflexologist reckons that wheat/gtulen in particular slow down the metabolic rate of the body- (hence why they are good for filling us up etc etc) but if your metabolic rate is very slow (as mine is) then this also affects your fertility.....

so defo do the diet as well as you can...and make the walking brisk enough to feel hot and slightly out of breath when you stop.....

runtus · 29/11/2004 14:03

Ha ha Hester, a girl after my own heart ......."only if I can be arsed"!!

Nikkichik · 29/11/2004 14:06

Am ususally running late so have to do the walking in a hurry anyway so often arrive hot and flustered!!
I'm not surprised about the wheat/gluten - haven't had any bread/wheat products for about 2 weeks now so let's see if it makes a difference.

hester · 29/11/2004 14:07

and runtus, if you could see the state of my belly, you'd know how rarely that actually happens...

MrsFogi · 29/11/2004 16:38

I'm in - nothing else has worked so far so maybe getting fit will get me pg (well, with a little input from dh!). My goal - I'll go to my pilates class once a week (rather than bail out at the last minute) and walk to work once a week (45 mins) in December (I'll up it to twice a week in January if I manage December).

munnzieb · 29/11/2004 18:35

well, i'm out on the swimmin tonight girls! ;o he he i mean pmpl!

munnzieb · 29/11/2004 18:35

(ment to tbe )

hester · 30/11/2004 10:39

OK, I've now found out I'm ovulating, which I'm really, really pleased about. this may mean I jack in the gym this week in favour of baby-making, but I promise faithfully I'll go on Saturday. honest.

Nikkichik · 01/12/2004 11:36

Well Hester, that's exercise too surely!!

hester · 01/12/2004 13:38

That depends on so many things, Nikkichik. Believe me, on a tired night it can involve almost no calorie output whatsoever

Nikkichik · 01/12/2004 14:56

I can identify with that one totally!!! Am frequently having a 'tired night' but if it does the trick and dh/dp is happy - who cares!

runtus · 01/12/2004 16:47

Well I have managed to fail spectaularly so far....presently esting a family bag of Walkers Sensations and I can forsee total crap for tea as well! DP away for the night so I have full run at the fridge with not guilt inducing looks in my direction!!!

hester · 01/12/2004 17:00

You go for it, runtus. tomorrow is another day
