Anyone got pregnant from pre-cum?

Partner and I had unprotected sex yesterday. He didn't "finish" as we agreed he wouldn't as we were both in a rush and just wanted some clean fun. But he was really close, like super close and kept having to stop and start again to stop himself.

Turns out I am due to ovulate today or tomorrow.

Is there any chance pre-cum or any sperm could leak out? Is this likely or just some kind of myth or super rare?

Not TTC right now but wouldn't be a disaster either if I was pregnant.

Sperm can leak into precum and therefore lead to pregnancy. Probably fairly unlikely, but it only takes one!

@Regenbogen22 I know, everyone says it just takes one. But then I look at the stats and it's minimal so I'm guessing I will be okay.

TMI but I could definitely see some clear fluids coming out, which I assume was just pre-ejaculation fluid.

Also, didn't realise I was so close to ovulation. ARGHHHH.

When my DH went for a sperm analysis the urologist said to make sure he got the very first drops in the pot as apparently it contains a higher percentage of sperm.

Yup! Happened to me and I was flabbergasted! A very surprise pregnancy but we were delighted nonetheless

@PartySuziPlease Oh god help me ahaha. I'm not against being pregnant right now but definitely wouldn't be planned.
How many days before ovulation was it? That's if you remember still!

I know pregnancy chances are low the further away from ovulation, and even lower with pre-cum.

I can't remember exactly but I'm guessing a couple of days before. When i got that positive test we couldn't even remember when we did it, haha!

MAP isn’t effective once you’ve ovulated as it delays ovulation to be affective

Yep, that’s now DN was conceived 😬 There was quite likely sperm in it so if you’re ovulating and young and healthy, massive risk of pregnancy. If that isn’t for you, there is still time to have an IUD fitted to prevent the egg implanting (works up to 5 days after sex.

Not sure if morning after contraceptive pill works after ovulation or nor but feels like a question for doctor / chemist not me…

Basically yes unprotected sex even if he withdraws = big risk of baby.

Lol how do you know how your Nephew or niece was conceived?! I'd hate to know that much about my brothers (or in laws) sex life GrinBlush

Yep - me! She's 12 😂 I've no idea where in my cycle I was though but it's definitely possible

Yes happened to me too. Like you, I realised there was a very small risk of pregnancy so i took MAP but it didmt work and bingo... i was pregnant. Withdrawal method is a bit of a lottery and not something i have relied on since.

You do realise that Catholics across the world use the withdrawal method for natural contraception as their religion bans other forms, ie the pill and condoms. Now look at how big some Catholic families are/were. Have you ever wondered if the two are related?

HAHA same, I couldn't do it. But partner can control it (well, I guess time will tell how well he controlled it... 🤔)

I haven't wondered that as I didn't know that was a thing for Catholics. Interesting. And also making me anxious a little haha.

@Pixiedust1234 definitely not a thing in my Catholic Church / groups. Yes, as with any groups, withdrawal is used. However you are taught rhythm method instead, not withdrawal.

@Tigerandthetea - more than happy to be corrected. However I doubt women were monitoring their secretions and temperature 40 years or more ago which meant withdrawal being the favoured contraception. Was trying to get OP to see that it doesn't actually work effectively (enough) by giving an example she mght be more familiar with. I failed.
