Hey guys first time poster here!

TTC cycle #2 and want to try the SMEP but have a few questions:

1. Does it matter what time of day you BD?
2. Do you have to start on day 8 or could i start on day 10 and it still be effective? I usually get my peak ovulation on day 17.
3. Any success stories anyone can share?!

@HellsBellsK good luck hope you managed to dtd! Now the 2 week wait starts! Anyone else in their TWW? 5DPO today for me, and a week to go for testing! I struggle with this last week as I have to fight temptation to test from 9DPO! I’ll probably test 11DPO anyways 🤷‍♀️

I am smack bang in the middle of the TWW, 9dpo to be precise. Promised myself I wouldn't test until 12th Feb. Naturally I've been testing since 7dpo... like a twat

Stark white every day! No discernable symptoms to speak of at the moment. Last cycle I had every symptom imaginable so maybe there's still a chance!

How is everybody feeling? If you ever wanted to slow down time.. just start TTC

@Putlebebeinme ahh I’m 5DPO but my LP Is only 11 so I’m pretty much half way too! I’m hoping to hold off until Saturday for testing but we’ll see! Usually I cave at 8/9 DPO!😂

@Putlebebeinme no symptoms been feeling rubbish, think I’m just stressed and have flu like symptoms! So true about time going sooooo slow!!

@Peonies94 Saturday feels like an age away at this rate. I'm going to do an easy @ home hcg test every morning. Can't help myself, then a fret Saturday morning if I can hold up.

Hi ladies I'm starting SMEP this cycle can I join in ☺️.
This is cycle 6 for me ttc #2. Had a miscarriage in November.
I'm CD 7 and we DTD tonight to kick things off as they say haha!
When do you all start using the OPK kits? Last month I started way too early and wasted some. Tested today and it was an empty circle so will try again in a few days.

@Putlebebeinme hoping the 12th gives you a BFP. It's my birthday that day so would be lovely to hear you got your BFP on that day 🥳

Hi @Shiny88 welcome! I'm so sorry to hear about your miscarriage. Hopefully this is your cycle!

I started tracking with OPKs on cycle 2. I've been using the easy at home ones from amazon which I feel are way more inexpensive than the CB ones! I started testing CD8 and I have a little book with the past three months stuck into it so I can monitor changes.

Aww of course if I was so lucky to find out on Saturday you'll all be the first to know!

Have you ever done SMEP before? Did it take long to conceive your first baby?

I'll be thrilled to even see one BFP in this thread, everyone seems fairly early along which is nice as we have company for this insane journey

@Putlebebeinme yes clear blues are expensive. I think if I don't catch this cycle I will give the ones you have mentioned ago.

No never done SMEP before this is the first time trying.
With my first we weren't trying it just happened very early in the relationship so it's hard to get my head around the fact this time we are trying and it's not happening for us 🙈.

Yes I can't wait to see everyone's BFP too be nice going along the journey with others too!

@Putlebebeinme I know it does seem ages away! I’m losing hope of this months success already! 😢 yes keep us posted on yours too! I may test Thursday and Saturday and then AF should arrive Sunday!

@Shiny88 sorry to hear about MC!:( I too use the CB tests, I’ve tried the IC but I find them more difficult with my really irregular cycles! Wishing you all the luck! It’s hard when you want it so badly isn’t it! This cycle marks 12 months since ttc so I want it so bad this time! Had a chemical back on oct/nov cycle!

Morning Ladies, SMEP didn't go to plan. Did end up DTD again as DH is sick. Im upset but if your sick your sick. I had a little bitty party for myself.
So I think I am pretty much out this month.

Welcome @Shiny88, sorry to hear about your MC. I usually start testing everyday from CD 6 with clear blue I also have IC but find them harder to ready. This month IC had me ovulating the day before CB but not much in the difference.

On day 2/3DPO depending on which ovulation test I'm going with.
I started symptom spotting even before ovulation
More so I really felt like I ovulated this month. Dull pain in my lower abdomen but I am pretty sure it is all in my head.

How is everyone feeling? Anyone started testing yet?

It hasn’t been going to plan for me too much either! On CD13, DTD on CD10 but DH has a bad back so didn’t feel up to it yesterday.
Will try again tomorrow - trying to not put too much pressure on us as I won’t ovulate until Thursday/Friday probably.

At least you have a few days until ovulation. I did three days. If I take the IC positive we DTD that day too so hopefully enough. But not getting my hopes up trying to put it to the back of my head.

DH doesn't get it at all. I was like I'm ovulating today and have to DTD today or tomorrow and thats it.
He was like that's ridiculous that can't be the way it works . Little do they know the stress we go through!

How are you all getting on ladies? No signs of ovulation for me yet!

BFN at 11dpo this morning. I know I am not yet out for the count but that stark white! There was a positive today on my husbands antigen test

So ladies this is Abit tmi but I don't know where else to put it haha 😂.

So basically my AF that has just been was early only lasted a day and a half then had some brown spotting after. My uterus feels very strange if I'm honest. Almost heavy.
Iv done 3 pregnancy tests (wishful thinking I know) all negative.
Do you think there's something wrong with me? Haha or could there be a secret baby? 😳 prob sky my mind playing tricks I know

Hoping I can join in. Very early only 1DPO.
In December I had the booster jab and unfortunately my period was 2 weeks late and I had built my hopes up so much and literally convinced myself I was pregnant despite having negative test results.
I knew that there would be no chance of me being pregnant as my husband and I both had covid when I was ovulatinh and was to knackered to DTD. It's mad what your brain will convince you.

We have been trying for almost a year but I started doing ovulation tests and I have been ovulating after the apps predict when my ovulation is, which may be why we haven't been lucky so far. It is mad how much your body can convince you your pregnant and make you get obsessed.

@Putlebebeinme I’m 9DPO and bfn too! Feeling really disheartened! Officially a year this year! I know it’s eaarly days, I just feel like it’s going to be me done! aF due in 2 daus!

@Peonies94 there must be something in the air. Dishearten is the word. I have no right, 3 months in with the struggles some ladies have. Going to sleep it off and regroup tomorrow!

9dpo is early, I would love to see some BFPs on here!

@Putlebebeinme we all feel like it sometimes! Doesn’t matter how long to what bumps on the journey, we all feel the same I think! I know, it is early I’m going to test again tomorrow, and then the next day! Crazy I know! Yes that would be fab!

We’ve done smep last two cycles… but, we found that dtd every other days until LH surge, and then every day… it was too much! By the time we got to LH, poor DH was knackered and had no more baby dust left in him!

I’m testing in a couple of days, and then if we’re still tct, we will save the baby making activities for a later start day, maybe: 11,13, 14, 15, 16. (Usually LH on 15).

I’m 10 dpo and TRYING to wait til Saturday to test

@DogsAndGin I think that sounds like a good approach. Looks like we'll be going every second day again from day 10 until 16!

I hope you won't even need to make plans for the next cycle! Love your username.

Out of interest does anyone avoid alcohol entirely while ttc or even just during the Luteal phase?

Well AF has officially arrived today. I need to realign my expectations as to how long this process is going to take!

TTC kind of took over my life these last few months, I'm going to keep tracking but not lose my head this next cycle.

@Putlebebeinme oh I'm sorry to hear AF has arrived. It's such a deflating feeling.
We are all here with you and know what you're feeling.
Have a nice hot bath and a glass of wine and relax. The pressure we put on ourselves is crazy isn't it xx
