Hi, can anyone help please? I'm 27 and I'm currently feeling so heartbroken and deflated. We've just started trying for a baby, I've been using the flo app to track my periods / ovulation. My last period was 19th - 23rd November. My periods are usually 35 days. Up until last year they use to be every 28 days. So I'm now going out my mind with worry that my body is broken. My fertile ovulation days on the app are 5th December - 11th with tomorrow (9th December) been the peek day. I keep getting negative ovulation test day after day. Its sole destroying. Is it possible the app is wrong with my ovulation days? Should I test every day for a month? Is there a certain time of day I should be testing? I'm totally new to the whole ttc and don't really understand it all yet. With my first baby I was 18 and he was conceived when I was on pill with an ear infection. Just looking for some kind words of wisdom really xx

Cat32tt · 08/12/2021 12:17

Your body isn't broken, if your cycle varies by a few days then your ovulation day will change. The apps are great as a tool but they wont be 100% for everyone. The OV strips are good, it might be worth checking a few times a day when you are in what you expect is your fertile period in case the surge is later in the day.

Hi. I had an early miscarriage where nothing was ever seen on a scan. Bleeding started on the 22nd Nov lasting 6 days. My HCG levels have dropped in the space of 7 days from 82 to being 8 on Friday the 3rd Dec and now I have received a strong positive on OPK on Sunday the 5th Dec. Using the first day of miscarriage bleeding I would’ve been on cycle day 14 on Sunday and my next period is due in 12 days. When I fell pregnant I ovulated on CD15.
No idea if I really ovulated. I have an app that takes pictures of the tests and charts them and allows you to see your LH Surges. Apparently I'm 2DPO

@pudding16 so things that we have done

  1. Taking folic acid with vit D and a B vitamin complex (studies show it can reduce MC risk so I see no harm in taking it)
  2. Used ovulation tests from day 6 of my cycle. I bit the bullet and bought the clear blue ones which are expensive but it does give you high fertile days and peak.
  3. Have sex every other day on the lead up to peak fertile days and then on the day of peak.
  4. Tried to add more healthy stuff into my diet like nuts and things and avoided caffeine.

I’ve read before that if sperm is not ‘released’ shall we say on a regular basis then a lot of dead sperm can accumulate so your better to try and start having regular sex on the lead up to ovulation.

Ultimately it is a game of odds and hopefully all you guys are more fertile and take quickly. Try not to get too disheartened if it doesn’t happen immediately though. Ttc is such a tough journey and it can be easy to take the fun out of sex. My DH feels a lot of performance pressure which he puts on himself. It is difficult.

@Hannabanana2021 I also had an early miscarriage and I got a positive opk around 14 days after my bleeding started. I’m hoping to have fallen pregnant again immediately as they say you are more fertile after MC. Did you try again this month?

Yes I have baby danced for the last 6 days 🤭
I've also heard you're more fertile and heard you're more likely to have a successful pregnancy in the first few months after a loss

This was the same as me last month and I fell pregnant straight after my first MC previous cycle. Hoping it will happen again this month and be a sticky bean this time 🤞🏻

Hannabanana2021 · 08/12/2021 19:03

@Geemmm I'm really hoping so 🤞 the process for me was awful as my HCG was slowly rising but they couldn't see anything and I wasn't bleeding. Leaving me with 3 internal scans and 6 blood tests overall with the words "ectopic" and "molar" being mentioned. I wasn't in a very good place but thankful my body resolved on its own even though I was left with pregnancy of unknown location. Luckily they've told me if I fall pregnant again I can come straight in and they'll do blood work and keep every monitored to ease the anxiety a little. Would be amazing if we all got positives just before Christmas ❤️

SGChome20 · 08/12/2021 19:56

It’s strange that the losses are dealt with so differently in different areas. I’m in Scotland and when I had bleeding I was just told to manage it at home.

Do you have Early Pregnancy Assessment Units in Scotland? It's those we get referred to by doctors here x
SGChome20 · 08/12/2021 20:34

@Hannabanana2021 yeah, you just self refer yourself to EPU and that’s the advice I got. They did say if I still got a positive test a week later though they would have gotten me in for a scan so I think when it’s so early they just avoid scanning everyone. Or maybe it’s a covid thing, who knows.

Same with me both times - I thought it was just cos I was so early on. Really don't think I can hear them say 'ride it out and test at the end' again 🙄

Aw gosh hun that sounds awful - sending lots of love ❤️. Ur right it would be a dream if we all ended up with a little early Christmas present!

HelloPippa · 09/12/2021 08:21

Hi all, I’d love to join the chat too! I am TTC #1, month 1. 7 DPO, going crazy naturally... Did a cheap test this morning just for something to do 😂 BFN obviously. Hope everyone is well!

SGChome20 · 09/12/2021 08:56

@Geemmm yeah that was hard wasn’t it, as if waiting a week is really easy. You still have the hope as well which is really crappy!

KateInHappyland · 09/12/2021 09:42

Getting so close to AF being due now and the wait is still so tense! App predicts it’ll start around the 12th (still hoping it doesn’t, but we’re 3 days away and tests are still showing negative - it’s not looking likely).

HelloPippa · 09/12/2021 10:53

@KateInHappyland fingers crossed! I am a couple days behind you, AF due Mon/Tues. What tests are you using?

SGChome20 · 09/12/2021 14:11

@KateInHappyland not out till AF shows! The app could be wrong with dates as well

Cat32tt · 09/12/2021 14:48

hi @HelloPippa - I was the same with #1 totally obsessed and very fortunate that once was enough! but BFP didn't come till 10 DPO so maybe a tad early yet lol

I’m 8dpo today and getting some cramps this morning and last night. I’m really hoping that’s implantation cramps but then again it could just be something I ate! Anyone else symptom spotting like mad?

Not symptom spotting as of yet but only 4DPO. It's such a nightmare pregnancy symptoms are similar to AF isn't it 😩😩 I've had cramping ever since I ovulated and driving me insane thinking I might start bleeding 😰
KateInHappyland · 10/12/2021 11:22

I was using some cheapy strips from Amazon, but used a FRER yesterday and it was a BFN. I feel like that would have picked it up by now if it was positive.
I’ve run out of tests now! Will have to stock up again for next month and see how next cycle goes. I do have a feeling AF is going to start in the next couple of days.

Same position here! AF due 13th and felt it was on its way last night however symptoms have stopped. Not feeling optimistic and want to wait until after this point to test if it doesn't arrive prior. Testing over and over and seeing BFN's starts to get to you.

Onto the next month! I hope to see some BFP's on here tho Smile

Geemmm · 10/12/2021 12:42

So stupidly tested today at 8dpo - obviously it was a BFN. Not counting myself out yet as feel like it was daft to test so early as I usually test after at least 12dpo. Any luck for anyone yet?

Bubblegum093 · 10/12/2021 13:17

Hi everyone
Could I join in Smile I’m 3dpo - new to whole process of TTC and first time posting on here! Third month TTC, think I am finally getting the hang of tracking my cycle now, after being on the pill since forever (I’m 28 and been on pill since I was 16 so think my body is still getting used to not being on it). Started BBT this month after reading different threads on here (still getting majorly confused by it though as it had a huge dip this morning and not sure what it means haha)! My one step OPKs never show much but I had a clear blue static smiley when Flo app also estimated O day the start of the week so pinning all hopes on that. The one step had a very faint line but it’s never been as dark as the control line.

Feeling all your pain on the TWW! Fingers crossed for a BFP for you all x
