Cycle Day 1 - SMEP method?

Hi Mummies-to-be! Is anyone at a similar stage in their cycle and going to try the SMEP method this time? Would love to share the highs and lows of the journey together!

This is our second cycle, TTC baby #1, but first cycle I’m pretty sure we DTD around the wrong time / missed my ovulation day. Thought SMEP could give us a better chance!

I’m 11DPO today and still resisting the urge to test. I’ve got lots of PMS symptoms so pretty sure it’s a no this month but I can’t stand the disappointment of a BFN so think I might just wait till AF arrives x

@mrsS21 yes bfn on frer and one step after a long hold! So frustrating! I took 2 yesterday after I saw the first line I wanted to confirm, it’s just weird how 2 come up positive! Nevermind.. there’s always next month!

It is really odd, especially to have two with very obvious lines. I’m so sorry you’ve had such a rollercoaster the last 24hrs @Peonies94 💐

Yes there is always next month, hopefully our 2nd month trying smep will do the trick! My resting HR seems to have dropped off completely, so think I’m definitely out too…dammit. Would have been perfectly timed for a birthday present this week!

So sorry to hear about your situation @Peonies94 ❤️ is there anyway the bfn could be wrong still? As you said, if not this month then next month :)

I've had such a stressful day and was so desperate for a glass of wine tonight but then panicked in case it impacted anything so didn't - am I being ridiculous?!

@Firsttimetrier definitely don't give up any hope just yet, it's still very early days - positive thoughts 🤞

@MummyStevensToBe my apps say wednesday based on previous cycles but I ovulated a couple of days earlier than normal this month so I think it should be Monday x

Well, AF showed her ugly face this morning! Only saving grace is I didn't waste a FRER this morning before I realised. Sending all you ladies lots of baby dust.

@ExPatHereForAChat sorry to hear AF arrived :( but yes that’s exactly one of the reasons why I’m refusing to test until my period is due from now on! Hope you’re ok.

I’m 12DPO and woken up with a really strong sense of smell and I feel a bit tired and sicky. Hoping it’s a good sign but I have had a cold so could just be from that.

I’m basically symptomless at this stage, which I know is perfectly normal for 9DPO, but I swear I had PMS this time last cycle?

I’ve got some cheap tests which I might use over the weekend and into next week, then use my FRER if anything seem remotely positive.

Thank you ladies. It's a bit disappointing but hey ho. @MummyStevensToBe I've just booked my hair appointment. Blonde highlights with some pink and an Olaplex treatment. May as well spoil myself.

I'm very impressed at the people holding off on testing. I could have saved 12 quid this month if I'd been more sensible!

Well, a lot can change in the space of two hours.

I decided to do my cheap test out of curiosity and a second line popped up..

After a crazed call to my best friend as I can’t get through to my DH as he’s teaching (and probably not news he needs to hear partway through teaching 😂) I got another positive test.

I was so, so sure we were out this month as I don’t feel anything!

Only 9DPO, so going to wait and see what happens!

@MummyStevensToBe I think I’m going to give it till Wednesday which I know is a while away but I know then that my period is definitely late. Last month I tested on the day my period was due which was a BFN then my period arrived about 30 mins later :(

It feels so strange and don’t believe that it’s real. I think because I’ve not had any symptoms this week. Usually my boobs are so sore in the lead up to AF.

Feel a bit worried to get too excited as it seems to early.

I didn’t think lines would be so strong at this stage, but I will go and get more tests for my FMU tomorrow.

@MummyStevensToBe it’s funny isn’t it?! I’d say have a little glass of you want - if you then find out you’re expecting, you can avoid… it’s not like it’s a huge drinking session which could be harmful. ☺️

I’m 10dpo today, feel like AF is on her way… just felt like it was perfect timing for us to fall on this month. My RHR has dropped to pre-ovulation levels, so think I’m out completely. But, teetering on testing just to see. I know I need to wait for af, but my brain wants to see another bfn apparently 🙈

Thank you @mrsS21 I’m in a state of shock as I just didn’t think it worked this month as I’ve got no symptoms, including the usual PMS.

I was slightly emotional earlier this week but I put this down to selling our flat and the stress of buying.

I’m going to keep an eye on the thread as I hope you all get your BFPs! ❤️❤️
