underactive thyroid causing problems to concieve?????

hi ya i have ds and having problems ttc baby number 2 !!!!
as a result of underactive thyroid i am not ovulating and doctors suggest it will correct itself but im not so sure .
also has anyone known of anyone who had baby born with defects due to underactive thyroid?

OMG!!!!

Day 89 can now change to day 1 !

After 3 months, and on our 7th anniversary and on Xmas eve my AF finally reared her ugly head TEW

Her timing couldnt be worse. But like DP says, at least we know something's happening down there (if a little slow)

Trouble is I'm at my future parent's-in-law's house and she's only got super plus It'll drain me dry! ha ha. (sorry TMI, he, he)

Flying back tonight

Havnt managed to phone surgery yet. Gonna do it Monday. I still cant believe I got AF. Slightly disappointed it came while away. Bad PMS all week, too tired to do anything.
Oh well, managed to get away from freezing cold london so cant complain

im ok took the clomid as my period came on 23rd so hopefully this is my month

my dh was dissappointed that he was not going to get some loving over christmas and i told him he would be sick looking at me hahaha

bet your not looking forward til coming home but maybe you will be in for some good news too!!!!

Got my letter from the hospital

My scan's on 4th Feb. I assumed it was gonna be a normal ultrasound scan but I'm looking at the words 'transvaginal probe'!!! eeek!

new year not bad. went to mum's with DP and DS. I fell asleep on sofa at 10! woke up in time for 12 oclock bongs though

Just called surgery, blood test normal. Yes scan a bit scary! but needs must eh!

Did you do anything exciting for new year?

stayed at home with ds and dh and was in bed for 12.30!!

did not drink as i dont want to ruin the effects of the clomid .

i dont feel very positive about it as i dont want to get a big downer when im not pregnant !!
i was reading the other threads on clomid sucess rates trying to give myself a bit of a boast !!
i have been taking terrible hot flushes really dreading the menopause already hahaha
i have to go on 11th to get bloods taken to see if i have ovulated the 23rd is the big day preg test oh i so hope its this month !!

Well there do seem to be a lot of success stories.
I hope it's this month for you too. How long have you been ttc? You've prob said already but my brain's a sieve!

on and off for a year now and to see a negitive preg test for a 13th time would drive me nuts

what will happen after you get your scan?

no idea. The doc said I would have to see him after scan and he will talk to me then. He said may be a case of persevering. Dunno how long he expects me to do that for! He obviously doesnt understand the female brain and hormones sending us into crazy baby wanters!

my sis just had dd on 19th dec by cc!!
she asked the doc (which is a man ) when is it safe to have another child and he said that women are never ment to have periods they are always ment to be pregnant as god put us on the world to have kids !!!!!

i told my gp this and she is a women and she thought it was crazy as she should wait 6 months at least!!!!!
i no what i would ahve said to him god did not invent c sections!!!!!

bloody hell men eh, they know nothing. How can a woman always be pregnant? surely that would be biologically impossible! especially as it's virtually impossible to fall preg anyway(even for "normal" people)

well I'll wait and see what he says. Are there any side effects from taking Clomid that you know of? I dont really know much about it.

well when i got it from the chemist they give me a 2 page leaflet to say about side effects and how to take it .normally there is a wee leaflet in the box it took me a good 10 mins to read it!!!!!

i have not been to bad appart from sore heads and hot flushes and my dh says i am moody but not sure if it is clomid as you no yourself the whole baby thing is so stressful anyway!!!

you can get blurred vision and there is also a higher risk of multiple births and also a risk of producing too many eggs and ending up ill but that is not common i dont think as i am not being monitored!!
clomid is called the miricale drug so lets hope thats what happens !!

its my fertile time and we are at it all the time i hate doing it like this as your only doing it for one reason not cause your dying for it!!!

Hospital's not till 4th Feb. I still cant believe my blood test was normal. There must be something wrong. Or maybe it's just coming off the pill (hoping). I stopped taking it beginning Aug and I've heard either it comes straight out of system or it can take a while to get back on track. Who knows. Maybe that's all it is. that is strange that the blood was normal. maybe it is something to do with taking the pill !!

it is a strange one the pill as some people get pregnant on it and others take forever when they come of it!!

yeah, apparently. On a little too much Thyroxine but only by 25mg. Too scared to go down a dose in case I start putting loads more weight on!

tell me about it i hate having to watch everything i eat but now that mine has corrected itself i must say i have lost weight 6 pounds actually .
some advice i have started the rosemary conally diet and its really filling but you see results .
everything you eat is less than 5g fat per 100g basically just cut out the shit i want to be able to enjoy my babies (if i ever have another 1) without being unfit and over weight all the time

I tried Slimming World but got to a point where I just wasnt losing anymore. Begrudged paying for it. I don't know about Rosemary Conally but I find just cutting out crap and eating sensibly and exercising works for me- just hard to get motivated!
