Anyone testing this week between the 18th or 26th October? It’s my 2nd cycle ( first where I’ve tracked ovulation) ttc first child. Im trying to avoid temptation to test too soon! I’m currently 5 or 6 DPO and hoping to wait until Thursday where I’ll be at least 9 DPO.

So I’ve just started having some pain across from the bottom of my hip bone about half way between that and the centre of my stomach (on the left) I’m having some twinges there! Could be totally unrelated and nothing to do with anything, but I just noticed them this last few hours

Remind me how many dpo you are @Peonies94? Xx

Peonies94 · 18/10/2021 21:07

I’m 6-7 DPO ☺️

Hi Ladies! I am so glad I found this group, thank you mamas. My husband and I just decided to try for our second child (first was an accident, took 4 months no pill). I came off birth control 4 weeks ago and freaked out after researching thinking it would take forever to conceive (i'm 36, he is 39). I out of the blue really wanted sex despite our natural contraception (our 21 month old child) and it turned out that was because I ovulated. I took LH test the day after sex and it was strongly positive (very long cycle though). I took a PDT test today (6 DPO) to make sure and there is progestreone so it definitely happened. I have had intense stomach and back cramps from ovulation day which just stopped today though still a bit tender. My uterus felt heavy. I've been needing to pee constantly until today, and i was exhausted at the weekend. Basically most of my symptoms are fading today. Last night and today though (DPO6) i've been feeling low level nautious (I had extreme morning sickness last time). I am sure that I am reading too much into this, and it would be so strange to get pregnant on shot 1, and without really trying, while being older and newly off the pill, but work is quiet and i've been low level obsessing about this. I'm a Brit living in the USA and we have PDG tests. I've read that as long as PDG stays high until HCG kicks in and can be detected that you are probably pregnant, and if PDG drops after the next 2 days you are not, and it is unlikely that HCG will show a BFP. So I guess i'll keep testing PDG until a pregnancy test shows one way or the other starting the end of this week. Best of luck mums. This is TOUGH, you're all strong ladies!

Hi everyone ! This is our first cycle of ttc #1 … have been doing the easy @ home ovulation tests and dtd plenty during our fertile window so fingers crossed! Think I am sitting at 4-5 dpo right now and plan to test from 9-10dpo (this weekend).

I am quite tender across my pelvis and very windy (tmi!) but apart from that nothing in terms of symptoms as of yet.

This week is going to drag in!

Peonies94 · 19/10/2021 05:45

Well yesterday I had some strange sudden pain a few times just above pubic bone, on the left hand side. When I got up for work this morning I had some really mild lower back pain, but this could have been from sleeping awkward or anything 🤷‍♀️ I also feel a little nauseous, but that’s probably the fact I’ve been on edge waiting for Thursday to do my first test! I caved, I’m only 8 DPO but it was a definite negative!

I caved too. And I’m also 8DPO.
It wasn’t first morning wee and it was really diluted because I’ve been drinking throughout the morning but I wish I hadn’t tested because now I feel sad and like it’s not going to happen this month. Here’s the test, something I think I can see a bit of a shadow then other times nothing.

Peonies94 · 19/10/2021 16:17

@Moonshine160 I feel exactly the same! We have to just think though, we are only 8 DPO and it would likely not show up anyways! I can’t see anything, but that isn’t to say there’s not something there in real life! Good luck!

@Moonshine160 I'm 1-2 days behind you but in the same boat. Caved and tested this morning. I had lower back/stomach cramps all night, and feel sick, but that is probably bc I didn't sleep thinking about this. After like an hour the test is negative but looks like there is the feintest of lines/its likely just a shadow/the light and i'm seeing things that aren't there. I also did the progesterone test and it's positive, but said it is low level, and if it is falling then its probably not happening this month so idk. I hate this 2 week wait so much and this is just month 1. Hope yours comes to BFP though in a few days :)

Peonies94 · 19/10/2021 16:19

@Moonshine160 I want to test at 10 DPO and 12, but I may cave tomorrow and end up testing again!😂🤦🏻‍♀️

This is torture isn’t it. Today I am so so crampy in my lower back and when I just wiped I had a streak of pinky brown blood. I’m sure it’s too early to be AF, I’ve never had a cycle this short. I’m 9DPO which is the most common day for implantation so I have everything crossed it could be that.

madeleine85 · 19/10/2021 16:55

@Moonshine160 that sounds like a great sign!! fingers crossed for you :)

Moonshine160 · 19/10/2021 16:59

Thanks @madeleine85 :) fingers crossed for you too. What is the progesterone test that you mentioned? I haven’t heard of that before

Lovexoxo · 19/10/2021 17:01

Hi ladies! I'm due AF on Friday, I've got lots of symptoms but negative tests each morning so far (internet cheapies) I'm praying it's just too early still!
Good luck everyone!! Xoxo

madeleine85 · 19/10/2021 17:11

@Moonshine160 basically the LH tests check that you are producing the hormone that helps you ovulate, then 5-10 days after you ovulate your body produces progesterone if you actually did ovulate as opposed to just having the LH. If you are pregnant the progesterone stays high throughout pregnancy, and after day 12 or so the HCG should be high and can confirm that you are a BFP. The test is called Proov, caveating that i'm a Brit who lives in the US so i'm not sure it is available at home. I think it just gave me another aspect to stress over for 5 days. This is my first time testing so I didn't buy it in time to do the baseline test pre ovulation, you're meant to test first thing in the morning with 6+ hours no peeing, which I didn't do as I had to get up in the middle of the night, and the reviews are hit/miss. I think i'm just clinging to anything. The strips said that one line is positive for the hormone, which I had, but then I plugged it into the app and it said it was low so i'm thinking that purchase might have been a bad idea, even if it did confirm successful ovulation. This 6 day count to next Monday is going to be fun haha.

Peonies94 · 19/10/2021 17:48

@Moonshine160 ahh that’s so promising! If implantation occurred you wouldn’t have a positive today anyways, so give it some time and 🤞🤞

Moonshine160 · 19/10/2021 19:16

@madeleine85 that’s interesting, I’m in the uk so not sure if it’s available but I’ll look into it if unsuccessful this month!
@Peonies94 thanks so much 🤗

whymewhyme · 19/10/2021 19:26

@whymewhyme I am due AF the day before you… This wait is killing me! Have you been trying long?

Lovexoxo · 19/10/2021 23:28

Has anyone else been experiencing cramps - kind of feels like a dull period ache crossed with constipation feeling, had it about a week now and also noticed I feel really wet down there (sorry for tmi!) x

I'm experiencing period type cramps aswell, not sure if its a good or bad thing
madeleine85 · 20/10/2021 00:30

@Lovexoxo I also have cramps, backache and some nausea that seems to be getting stronger. When I had our first baby I had no symptoms until week 6, but then I was a train wreck, so trying to not read into it, but failing miserably! Hope it’s the real deal for everyone here

Moonshine160 · 20/10/2021 06:07

@Lovexoxo I have some awful period type cramps. I think I had them when I was pregnant with my DS but can’t remember if they felt the same as this. Lots of cramps but with the pressure sensation I get before my period.
