I’m sorry to hear that @Mummybearto3bg ! May I ask how do you check for ovulation?

I also agree about clear blue! I don't think I got a positive on there for a while with my son. Would definitely try another FRER.

Does anyone have any experience with estrogen dominance? I'm concerned that I have it because, without fail, every lp I have a couple of days where my allergies flare up and I can't stop sneezing, congested etc. I've read it could be related to high levels of estrogen in comparison to progesterone. But that's not good for conceiving! A bit of a niche question, I know 😂

About 7dpo here and nothing to report except for a rapidly decreasing grip on reality.

Still no AF for me! I have some weird pinchy feelings rather than cramps now and my boobs are sore today so maybe I’ll give in and test over the weekend. Not feeling hopeful after my last few long cycles but we’ll see!

@Mummybearto3bg because CB are unreliable (as are most blue dye tests). So many get false positives or false negatives or evap on them. They just aren't worth the money. For cheap tests you would be fine with the One Step strips which work out at 10-12p each when you buy a few. You can get them on ebay or Amazon. If you get a faint (or dark) second line then you need a pink dye test. You can get FRERs for about £4 each but if that's a bit steep (tbf it is) for regular testing then Home Bargains sell packs of 2 pink dye tests for 99p.

LOL @digby86! I think most of us are suffering from that!

@Dob29 no AF for me either. My app says its due today but I ovulated late (it has been a strange cycle) so my AF might not be due until Wednesday.

Hi ladies, how are we all doing?
Work finished for the weekend now, so I am going to have a nice lazy one without testing and wait for AF to hopefully keep her business away! Due Monday, however my cycles can be anywhere between 26 to 29 days. So potentially another week of twiddling my thumbs 🤣

Symptoms wise - nothing out of the ordinary other than I am starving! I never eat breakfast, but this week I have felt so hungry in the mornings and felt so sick if I don't eat! But then it could be the cold that im catching making me want comfort food! Also I am really tired, however it is nearly the end of term so that is quite usual. Its a constant battle of 'is it or isnmt it?' 🤣 xx

So regarding tests, I used a CB 6day early one Wednesday morning and it said not pregnant. I got a cheap tesco/Asda one that I’m going to use in the morning and if I get nothing on that I shall go and get a FRER. I didn’t know CB were unreliable.
I am now 3 days late as no AF today and technically I should be finishing AF today so. Still got mild pains in lower abdomen like somethings going on, at this rate I’ll be surprised if I’m not…but you never know .

So, does anyone actually know why pink dye is better than blue and also some of the CB tests are digital but do they still work on blue dye? 😳

@Squiff70 at least if I’m going slowly insane I know I’m in good company!! I swear I have full on convinced myself I’m pregnant already, despite the fact I have zero symptoms, have tracked nothing and this is our first cycle - so the prospects are slim. I think I have issues!

Out of interest, and being fairly new to all this, what is a sensible time to test (assuming AF doesn’t rock up)?

AF is due next fri/sat so I had thought Sunday morning if she’s not arrived by then. But is it too soon? I really don’t want to be squinting at a stick trying to second guess (and would kind of prefer not to know if I have a really early chemical) so kind of want a day set in my mind so I can be like “this is the day when you will test, and the answer will be definitive either way”. Then maybe I can move on with my life in the meantime! 😂

I’ve been off the thread for a few days and so much has happened!

I think I’ll only dip in and out to keep caught up as I’m 100% positive that we didn’t hit the right days this month!

Think I’m roughly 3 or 4DPO, so will test at the end of the month, but really not hopeful at all.

I say this now and I’ll probably end up with pregnant with triplets because I’m 1000% certain and dead set that AF will arrive in a few weeks 😂

@BoyMum18 how many dpo are you now! When did you last test?

@Digby86 They say 1 week after your missed period is the best time to test. Now. im not sure who 'they' are, but the advise does not stretch far for me as I have spent the past 9 months staring, squinting and moving negative tests into different lighting 🤣 i used up 2 frers this month far too early, so now im on a testing ban haha xxx

@Missy95 I tested this morning on a cheap test and was negative. 11dpo but I didn't get a line on frer until 12dpo with my son

Honestly desperate to test 😅 10dpo tomorrow think I may try hold out till Monday have 2 10ml tests that arrived today wish are bodies instantly told we was pregnant so didn’t have to go through this horrible tww....

@BoyMum18 ahh Ive seen people saying they haven't got a positive until way after 14dpo so fingers crossed for you! Your symptoms sound promising! According to my app im 12dpo but I think I maybe ovulated 4 days later, pushing me back to 8dpo. But i dont test for O, so its hard to say! I have 0 symptoms and 0 tests 😂 xx

I'm not sure exact date I ovulated so could be a day or two off x

@BoyMum18 when are you next testing? I wish I had some tests. The need to poas is unreal 😂 but im going to try my best to wait xx

@Missy95 I'm really not sure. So many negative tests up until now so it's getting me down! Maybe test on Sunday/Monday

I know exactly what you mean @Digby86 about convincing yourself you're pregnant. In the last hour or so I've started with breast pain. I'm 90% sure this is AF about to rear her ugly head. The other 10% is totally convinced it isn't. First cycle for me too and I POAS this morning and got another BFN. It's probably too early but then I have no idea when I ovulated so I haven't got a clue.

The 'sensible' time to test is when your period is late. FRER say they can detect pregnanacy upto 6 days BEFORE your missed period. I'm not so sure but there must be truth in it otherwise Trading Standards would have been on it years ago. IF it can detect pregnancy 6 days before a period is due and IF my period if due in the next 6 days (which it is) then technically IF I was pregnant I wouldn't have BFNs, hence the 90% certainty. I just want to know one way or the other now so I can have a glass of wine over the weekend

Thanks @Missy95 and @Squiff70 I think I’ll aim for the weekend after next then - though in another 2 weeks I’ll be a gibbering wreck! Or, AF will come as expected and I’ll just have a good old cry.

@Squiff70 I didn’t realise you were first cycle too - you sound much better informed than I feel! I don’t know o date either, so it’s all a bit of a guessing game. I’ve also been on contraception so long I’ve no idea whether my past experience of AF is going to hold true, or if it’ll all change now I’m not pumped full of hormones.

I think the frers can detect it that early, but with much lower accuracy. So I guess if you’re testing early, even within the 6 day window, there’s a higher chance of a false negative. I think implantation date etc would impact as well…? So if implantation happened later the test wouldn’t pick it up until later either?

In any event, you should definitely drink the wine! 😂 I’m keeping everything crossed for a BFP for you soon!
