I had my third early miscarriage in mid-late August. Had two blood tests, one with very low hcg (

Sorry to hear about your miscarriage 💙

I’m not an expert but this sounds like a new pregnancy to me - is your period due?

AwkwardPaws27 · 24/09/2021 20:03

PairOfPears I'm not sure - I haven't had one since miscarrying (I've felt like my period was about to start for about 10 days, emotional / PMS / sugar cravings etc).

If you test again tomorrow and it's darker that would strongly suggest a new pregnancy

AwkwardPaws27 · 24/09/2021 23:29

I'll definitely test again tomorrow.
I dont think it's possible it could be from the miscarriage, as the last blood test a month ago was negative so surely there would be no hcg left from that? Unless I'm missing something?

So this is the test from yesterday evening & this morning. I don't think there's much difference? Maybe slightly darker?

I fell pregnant straight after a mc, no period in between.

AwkwardPaws27 · 25/09/2021 13:55

Thank you ChocolateHelps (great name btw!).

Im really hoping this one sticks

That's definitely darker. Good progress for 12 hours or so I reckon. Tentative congratulations

AwkwardPaws27 · 25/09/2021 22:17

Thank you squee I really hope this is the lucky one

@ChocolateHelps

I fell pregnant straight after a mc, no period in between.
So did I
AwkwardPaws27 · 26/09/2021 19:04

I had a panic attack earlier as it hit me that I might/probably will lose this pregnancy too & I think it'll break me
I'm already on antidepressant following the 2nd one.
My GP told us we should keep trying while we wait for the recurrent miscarriage clinic appointment (average wait here is 45 weeks) but I don't know if I can keep doing this.

Cautious congrats. Fingers crossed for a sticky baby. Does sounds like a new one as you previously tested negative. Also that line does look a little darker

Bells3032 · 26/09/2021 22:30

Ps I got no symptoms (didn't even realise I was pregnant despite trying) til I was 7 weeks.

AwkwardPaws27 · 27/09/2021 10:07

Thank you Bells

This is 48 hours progression. I know I should stop testing (I wasn't like this in the last 3 pregnancies but I'm so anxious this time - I don't want to be blindsided). I don't think there's much change?
I'm not sure when I would have conceived; somewhere between 28th August - 14th September.

Cheapies don’t progress much if you get the digital weeks indicator you will have a better idea of progress

AwkwardPaws27 · 27/09/2021 11:22

Donthaveaclue1 thank you, I ordered a couple of clearblue weeks ones last night, should arrive soon

OP posts:
Lou98 · 27/09/2021 11:38

Definitely sounds like a new pregnancy, that test would be too dark for your hcg being negative last month I would think!

Sorry about your previous losses. Fingers crossed this one sticks for you OP and is your miracle baby!🤞

Donthaveaclue1 · 27/09/2021 11:42

Always do those first thing in the morning otherwise it won’t be accurate x

squee123 · 27/09/2021 14:48

The Clearblue weeks indicators are notoriously unreliable and cause so much uneccesary stress so please don't panic if they don't tell you what you're expecting or don't progress.

AwkwardPaws27 · 27/09/2021 15:03

I wish there was a urine test that gave a hcg level!

OP posts:
AwkwardPaws27 · 29/09/2021 09:38

Latest test definitely looks darker, and I'm sooooo tired and starting feel more nauseous (yayyyy!) so hopefully all good signs.

I'm not sure what to do about not being sure about my dates - I can self refer to the local midwifery service so I guess I'll do that and just say I don't know? Maybe I'll be lucky and get an early dating scan?

Lou98 · 29/09/2021 18:23

@AwkwardPaws27 definitely darker, congratulations!😁

Yeah self refer and just explain the situation to them, they may want to see you earlier because of the recurrent miscarriages anyway so definitely worth phoning!

JasonMomoasgirlfriend · 29/09/2021 18:25

Definitely if your second HCG was negative and then you got a positive after that.

Woo hoo

I had a chemical pregnancy beginning of Feb but was pregnant again by the end of Feb!

jpclarke · 29/09/2021 18:34

Congratulations, it is a very nervous time for you but could I suggest asking your doctor to prescribe progesterone for you. It might help.

AwkwardPaws27 · 29/09/2021 19:27

Thanks Lou98 I've now done the self referral (it's an online form but I should get a call within 3 working days - I included a note that I'm unsure of dates).

Jason that's brilliant, I hope your pregnancy is going well

jpclarke I asked for progesterone at the EPAU when I started bleeding in the last pregnancy (3rd miscarriage) and they said no. I spoke to a Tommy's midwife earlier who said the studies they are trying to get made info clinical recommendations say you should give it if there is bleeding in pregnancy (so why did they refuse?), and it makes no difference if you aren't bleeding?

I don't know, I'm so confused. I've got a GP phone appointment on Friday morning (earliest I could get) to see if they will prescribe it. It seems like a postcode lottery.
