Hello all,

Today is my first month of trying to conceive my third. Me and my partner decided at the beginning of the month that we are ready for another child.

I am currently 4dpo I believe. According to my app, I was supposed to ovulate on the 16th however my clearblue ovulation test showed a peak on the 18th. I tested that morning and it was negative then that evening it was positive. Then the next morning it was negative again. I'm guessing my LH surge must have been a short one.

I'm not exactly sure when I'm due my AF as the dates have changed on my app due to ovulation being later than assumed. But, it is stating that I should expect it on the 2nd of Oct. And oh boy does that seem so far away. I am becoming so impatient. Everyday I'm forcing symptoms onto myself lol even though it is still so early and implantation has not taken place yet. This waiting game is sending me crazy. Time is going too slow.

I need some testing buddies. Is anyone else due around the end of this month?

I had a nice chilled day with the family yesterday. My mum is down from London so I’ve been spending time with her and the kids. aAd today we’re all going for a meal to a Chinese buffet. So I’m happy my mind has been occupied because I’ve been obsessing over the sensations I’ve been feeling in my uterus! 😂

@W0W123 that sounds promising! Fingers crossed for you’ 😊 have you bought any pregnancy tests yet? And which brand do you usually use?

@TTCyay Yeah I understand that ovulation tests can make you obsessive. For me, it sort of gives me relief. Because if it wasn’t for me testing this month, I wouldn’t have caught my peak as my Flo app predicted my ovulation day to be a few days earlier. But to be fair this is just my first month trying. If this continues then I can imagine the following months being stressful.

@Tee93 Glad you had a nice day yesterday. The Chinese Buffet idea today sounds so good! Might steal that.

Ovulation tests definitely help, I think I may end up using them as my cycle seems all over the place :( No sign of my period this morning either- it's just stopped.

Any more pregnancy symptoms?

@Tee93 omg Chinese buffet sounds amazing! We don’t have any here and I miss them A LOT. I think I’m just overthinking symptoms and willing there to be some, I have stomach problems so who am I kidding 😂😂 i just use which ever brand is at the supermarket at the time I need one. After this month though if not bfp I’ll probably get some cheapies from Amazon just to abuse when I feel any kind of symptom.

@TTCyay maybe it was implantation and you conceived last month? That is weird to start and then stop see what happens over the next few days and do a test if it doesn’t come back. I mean can’t hurt to test, only the bank balance 😂

@W0W123 I think it's the Covid vaccine OR me gaining weight that's messed my cycle up. I'm due on in 5 days so I'm just going to wait to see what happens...although I do have a first response test in the cupboard. So.tempting...

Are you still planning on waiting until your period is due to test?

I am really looking forward to the food! My diet has been rubbish recently. After returning from Jamaica in August (all inclusive) I haven’t gotten back to a healthy eating lifestyle. So this buffet is my last chance to go all out! 😂 Then tomorrow I shall start my low carb eating regime again.

@W0W123I think I’ll also get some cheapies from Amazon. The same with the ovulation tests too. Clear blue can be quite expensive.

@TTCyay Yeah, maybe it is implantation bleeding. Fingers crossed that it is! I haven’t had anymore other symptoms than the slight tugging feeling in my uterus. I am going to try and hold off from testing until the day after my period is due if it doesn’t come. Just because the thought of testing is giving me anxiety. I just don’t want to feel the disappointment of seeing a negative result. Whereas if my period comes, it won’t hit me as hard I don’t think

@TTCyay Hopefully it doesn’t mess you around for long, especially as you conceived so quickly before, so long as you still ovulate I guess it doesn’t matter on cycle length so you could use some ovulation tests next cycle just to make sure.

@Tee93 oh wow lucky you going to Jamaica! We have put off a holiday the past couple of years because of this whole covid thing and now the testing you have to do, I’m not sure how my kids would be with the testing none of us have done any so far. We did say maybe next year for a holiday if things have calmed down. I took my daughter to Mauritius at 8 months old so I’m not fussed if we have a baby to take or not I just want some clear sea and sunshine!! 😂 did the kids go with you to Jamaica?
I will try and hold off until next weekend I agree won’t be so hard if af arrives but a negative test is horrible to see when you want a baby.

@W0W123 Aw I’ve always wanted to visit Mauritius! Looks like such a beautiful place! Yes my little ones did come with us. They didn’t need to get tested because of their age but me and my partner had to take quite a few tests which amounted to around £300 each just for the tests which is ridiculous. But to be honest Jamaica was amazing so it was sort of worth it. And we just needed a break after the pandemic we have all been going through.

But you won’t guess what I’ve done this morning… I’ve taken a test! I don’t know why I did it, it was silly of me. But I just had an urge to do it. The only test I had is the Morrison’s pregnancy test which I believe is 25mIU (whatever that means) and the instructions clearly state to take the test after missed period. But me and my impulsive self decided to still test 😂 I’m 8dpo today so it really made no sense me taking this test.

However….. I honestly feel like my eyes are playing tricks on me. I can see the faintest of lines on the test. It’s so so faint it may not even be there. I’ve taken a picture but if my eyes can hardly see it, my camera won’t pick it up very well but I’ll post the picture anyway. For the test to be positive, there should be a line in the ‘T’ section. I didn’t use my first morning wee either. I highly doubt it’s a positive test but now I’m second guessing…

@Tee93 the photo on my phone is slightly blurry I’ve got quite and old phone though. It looks like a shadow on there, I really hope there is a shadow on there!!
Tbh Mauritius is nice... but it’s just nice if you know what I mean, sounds absolutely ridiculous of me to say that and I’m totally not stuck up but I’m not in any rush to go back, lanzarotte is my favourite place and we will return over and over 😂
I thought all kids had to test for all places so that’s handy to know and what a relief they didn’t have to go through it, I bet it was more than worth it for you guys! Any holiday is probably worth a little swab it’s a shame it’s so expensive!
I’ve got my fingers crossed for you that the line gets darker over the next few days. I’ve convinced myself I’m not this month we really haven’t done it enough, he seems to think we are just super fertile and it really doesn’t matter but I guess I’ll see end of the week.

Lol yeah I get what you mean. I've never been to Lanzarote but I've heard good things. I've travelled to Marbella a few times though which I really enjoyed.

I don't know, I'm trying to be positive but I just don't feel that it's my month either. I don't feel pregnant at all and I know it's early but I want to feel something lol. The symptoms you have had though do sound promising!

Yeah, the line is like a shadow. So I don't know if that's just how this particular branded test is or whether something is actually there. I've ordered myself first response test from Amazon which should arrive this evening. A lot of people on here seem to use that brand and I believe you can test early with this particular one. So I think I will test tomorrow in the morning and if its negative then I won't be testing again and I'll what for my AF to arrive

I don’t feel pregnant at all either, but again for both it’s early days so we should just stay optimistic I mean how pregnant can you feel this early?! I’ve used the morrisons ones before and never had a shadow so fingers crossed for you in the morning. Yeah don’t waste any more money on tests until you miss af but I can absolutely see why you would test early I’m resisting the urge 😂😂 I’ll end up testing every day and I’ve still got a week left! They say twins can show up early as you have more hgc in your system.

Holidays are a pain right now, I got married at the end of August, we got back from Cyprus on Wednesday. Also struggling not to eat the all inclusive life! Kids too small to need to test but we have do to the 2 days post return, and 8 days. (As well as the day before we departed)
Lucky only swabbing up the nostril though, I can't stand the throat swab!

I've never been to the other places you both have mentioned, must put them on the list.

It's hard to resist the urge to test! When I zoom in on your photo I can't see it, but when I zoom out I can see what you mean! I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you for tomorrow morning🤞

I hope you're right, I'm pretty certain I'm not pregnant but I've had the strangest period ever. I don't even know if it counts as one! Just spotting every time I wipe, nothing else.
I usually wouldn't be bothered by this, but when TTC it does worry me! Time will tell.

Are you going to wait until the 4th to test?
You're not out 'till AF starts! It's too early to feel pregnant right now..isn't it? I dunno! My first sign is flatulence 😳 haha.

@TTCyay that is a weird period, I don’t think I’ve had one like that I’ve had short ones of only 3/4 days but never just spotting. I’m going to try my hardest to wait if I don’t buy a test I can’t use a test right 😂 I’ll see if af arrives I suspect it will but just means more time to compose myself to tell my mum... I’m 32 for Christ sake and I’ll be scared to tell her. She only had me and it feels like sometimes (all the time) that she thinks I should have only had one like she did. Oh wow congratulations on the wedding and Cyprus is on my to do list it’s so beautiful oh bet you had a wonderful time and you both must have massive holiday blues now!

I'm sorry you're worried about telling your mum, is she a good grandmother to your children?
People love to have opinions on other peoples family planning. When I was in Cyprus one of the men who worked there told me (upon finding out my kids' age gap) that I need to "close the shop" and my other half should "get the snip" 😂 When I told DH he said I should've told him I was pregnant haha.

Basically, people can be twats. I'm not calling your mum twat though! But, try not to worry about what she thinks - it is your life.

We totally have the holiday blues, it all flies by so quickly. Hopefully another holiday next year :)

@TTCyay google will tell you all sorts of things I had strep b when my daughter was born and they didn’t catch it until I was home the midwife said what ever you do, do not google it. Safe to say I googled it and was terrified 😂
people can be so rude, like you say none of their business! Especially not someone you don’t even know! Their opinion means absolutely nothing and should keep it to themselves!!
Yes she’s a good nan, she loves them to bits wasn’t happy with my son but she got over it (kind of) but wouldn’t have them both together until I said no it’s both or none, she says she isn’t used to 2 and finds it hard, don’t have anymore, 2 is enough etc etc I have to explain all the time other people have more than 2 children and it’s up to me. If I want 5 ( I don’t) then I’ll have 5! I won’t put any restrictions on my children they can be and do what ever makes them happy.

There’s been quite a bit of tears this morning and I’m feeling pretty down. I am really disappointed that this month isn’t my month but never mind.

@Tee93 yes take some time for you have a long bath when the kids go to bed, although until af arrives you could still get a bfp so keep positive. I’ve still got my fingers crossed for you. And it means lots more baby making, I think the first month is always the hardest because you just think well why not but could be down to the tiniest detail. They say 3 months up to a year is considered normal. Just take some time for you today though I agree with @TTCyay

I'm feeling a little better than I did this morning. I'm just trying to take my mind off it.

I have been having period like cramps today although my app states I'm due on on Sunday. So my AF must be coming early which I'm thankful for. Because then It doesn't feel I'm waiting as long for my fertile window to come again.

AF has started full on today. I'm not cool with this spotting for 5 days And then bleeding for 4-6 days... AF is 2 days earlier than predicted and I'm not quite sure how I record this on the apps because as soon as I entered in spotting it logged the period.

Has anyone watched Squid Game? Hearing good things about it?!

@Tee93 glad you are feeling a little better, I always think trust the plan, when you get pregnant it’s because it’s the right baby for you, it wouldn’t be the same one if we conceived every time we hoped to. I love my daughter and would wait 5 years again if it means I get to have her. My af is due Monday but I’m never spot on so within the next 2 weeks. I feel like I’m in the same boat as you I don’t feel like this is our month although I don’t want to wait too long and have another Leo baby 😂 we are 2 Capricorn’s and 2 Leo’s in this house!

@TTCyay maybe is there a notes section on your app could you write the spotting in there? Keep track of it and if it keeps happening see if you can talk to your gp because if it’s not normal for you then something isn’t quite right, regardless of if the jab has played a part or not. 2 of my friends have endometriosis now which they didn’t have before the jab so always better to be safe than sorry. Not that I’m trying to scare you!! Please don’t read too much into it!!!
We did try to watch that the other day but the voices not matching the mouthes moving did us in, we watched 9 perfect strangers instead it was pretty decent.

Forgot to get the hamster out in the ball tonight so I’m currently sat with her while everyone sleeps. Life of the mother ay! Haha

I caved I’m 9dpo and took a test this morning just a cheapy from b&m one of those little strips, also didn’t use my first urine of the day and it was negative. I’m still keeping positive, although like you both I don’t feel like this is my month but it’s still early. I could have ovulated late as I wasn’t using any tests. i think I’m just clutching though 😂

How are you both doing? I had to take a little break away as things was just getting too much. I’ve started spotting today so I’m definitely out this month. Just looking forward to a couple of weeks time to start trying again. I feel like I’ll be more prepared this time 😊

I’m ok how are you doing? did another test at 10dpo and it was negative so thinking def not my month due on Monday-ish. Next month is good for a July baby!! If you are into astrology then a cancer is a good one! No offence to any Gemini‘s 😅 more baby making can’t be a bad thing surely! ESP for dh 😂

Sorry that we all didn't conceive, but perhaps October is the month!
When are you predicted to ovulate this month?

My apps tell me different dates but it's between 10th - 14th.

What are both up to this weekend? My DH has taken one of the kids swimming, and the other is asleep so I'm relaxing...for another ten mins before I have to wake DD up!

Ahh sorry you both didn't get your BFP but lets hope that October is our month!

@Tee93 My app is showing my window to be from 15th - 21st with predicted ovulation date being the 19th.

I've started taking folic acid capsules and I have also just purchased the pre seed lube that quite a lot of people suggest to use when TTC. I am feeling quite hopeful for this month
