Hello 😊 I will be 7dpo on Tuesday, I want to try and wait a little longer but I know I will have no will power 😆

CrazyCatLady75340 · 19/09/2021 12:41

Hey! I'll be 11 DPO on Tuesday and was planning to test then too.

Danani · 19/09/2021 12:48

Oh wow 7 DPO is so early!!! I did that last cycle btw, I started testing at 7 DPO...to each their own, but for me it was a waste of money on tests and a source of daily disappointment. If you can resist, maybe give it a few extra days till 10 DPO?

I'll be 12 DPO on Tue, hoping that it's a lucky day/result!

beanchopper17 · 19/09/2021 12:52

Yeah I know, been at it for 10years 😆 I have just lost the ability to wait haha

SummerRose28 · 19/09/2021 12:54

Hey! Good luck to you all 🤞🏼😍
AF is due either today or tomorrow so I'm trying to keep the willpower to test in a couple of days 😂x

Danani · 19/09/2021 12:58

@beanchopper17B ah I'm sorry hun, that's a long time, I hope this is your month!!!

@CrazyCatLady75340 oh great - looking forward to your update on Tue then. What test are you using? I have FRER.

@SummerRose28 thank you!! Good luck to you too, hope AF doesn't come and you get your BFP! Also, super impressed that you're waiting until after AF is due to test!! Now that's some willpower!

OP posts:
SummerRose28 · 19/09/2021 13:00

@Danani I don't usually have this much willpower, I'm just fed up of negatives so purposely made sure there wasn't any tests in the house 😂

Anybody got any symptoms so far?

CrazyCatLady75340 · 19/09/2021 13:06

@Danani I've not bought any yet as I didn't want them in the house (I'm weak 😂) but was planning on picking up a couple of FRER's. Have you had any symptoms?

CrazyCatLady75340 · 19/09/2021 13:07

@SummerRose28 the only thing I had was a very quick sharp pain in the bottom left of my abdomen yesterday at 8 DPO. What about you?

Danani · 19/09/2021 13:08

@SummerRose28 you know what, that is also an exercise in willpower!!
I was going mad last cycle, testing from 7 DPO like twice a day...which did not do me any good. So this time round, I promised myself to do the first test 12 DPO, in the hopes that if this is my month, I could get a faint BFP?

I didn't have any symptoms and then yesterday at 9 DPO I experienced this sharp pinching on my right side - sudden, sharp and quick. Lasted a few seconds and then was gone.
And then this morning woke up with an achy lower back, which I'm still enjoying right now, and also got this full/heavy/dull cramps feeling in my lower abdomen.
Really unsure what this all means, to be honest, it feels like AF is on the way, however AF not supposed to come until Friday, and also when it does come I usually do not have any aches and cramps, it's very...uneventful. So not sure what to make out of this yet.

CrazyCatLady75340 · 19/09/2021 13:12

@Danani this sounds exactly like me. The pain was so quick and literally took my breath away. Not had anything quite like it before that I can remember. Fingers crossed it's a good sign for both of us!

SummerRose28 · 19/09/2021 13:13

@CrazyCatLady75340 @Danani
I found the same! So glad you managed to find some willpower too! Testing from 12DPO is definitely best. Although I'm 14DPO and still too scared to test 😂

I also had the sharp pain. TMI sorry, but I had slight brown discharge when I wiped two days ago which I never get unless it's right before AF shows. I've been getting AF cramps also for days now. If it makes you feel any better, with my first I had awful none stop AF cramps and I was so certain she was on her way but she just never turned up! So hoping these symptoms are positive for you both 🤞🏼🤞🏼🤞🏼

Danani · 19/09/2021 13:17

Ahhhh @CrazyCatLady75340 @SummerRose28 this makes me so hopeful! Also it's so nice just knowing I'm not alone!!

Sending all the positive vibes and baby dust and whatever other sorcery for a bunch of BFPs over the next week!!! This will be one lucky lucky thread, I just know it.

beanchopper17 · 19/09/2021 13:19

@Danani no worries, if I had the patience to wait till my period showed up I would of saved £1000's over the years 😂

Danani · 19/09/2021 13:36

ahhh won't we all... @beanchopper17! why is the TWW always so.much.longer than any other normal 2 week period? It's not right. To be honest, being on here and seeing other people's post is helpful, but sometimes when I see someone at 7-8 DPO with BFP, all I want to do is run to the bathroom and POAS. :D

SummerRose28 · 19/09/2021 13:44

How long have you all been TTC? Is this all your firsts? 😊

SummerRose28 · 19/09/2021 13:46

@Danani I feel the same when I see people with early BFPs 😂 But we're saving money don't worry 😝

Danani · 19/09/2021 13:47

Second month/cycle for me TTC, a complete beginner.

OP posts:
SummerRose28 · 19/09/2021 13:49

Ah hopefully this is your month 🤞🏼 I'm on cycle 6 😩 Didn't track at all with my first as we discussed we wanted a baby but stayed relaxed about it 😂

Do you use OPKs or temp?

Danani · 19/09/2021 14:43

@SummerRose28 thank you, hopefully it is for all of us!!!

I did not this month. I used OPK last month, and month before just to figure out how they work and found out they matched 100% with my app predictions, so this time I did not. I decided to be chill and go with the flow. Tbh, not sure if this was smart or stupid as I just blindly trusted my app, but felt myself more relaxed and chilled without the added stress of daily OPKs.. What about you?

OP posts:
SummerRose28 · 19/09/2021 14:59

@Danani I don't blame you, it definitely adds to the stress! Temping is more stressful than OPKs, but more accurate it's annoying. I've tried a couple of months doing both temping and OPKs, just OPKs, just temping and none 😂

This month is the first month I followed SMEP so I only did OPKs for 4 days and it's been far more relaxing.

Danani · 19/09/2021 15:31

Ooh what is SMEP? 👀

OP posts:
SummerRose28 · 19/09/2021 15:34

@Danani

Sperm Meets Egg Plan 😂 I'll copy and paste some details -

SMEP, the “Sperm Meets Egg Plan” is a TTC (trying to conceive) plan that helps you get pregnant faster with ovulation awareness and intercourse timing. Even if you time intercourse perfectly, you’ve only got a 25% chance to get pregnant each cycle. The SMEP methodd* ensures you get that 1 in 4 shot by literally making sure the sperm and egg have every opportunity to meet each and every cycle.

In order to ensure sperm and egg meet, you will “try” every other day starting on the eighth day of your cycle. The timing of this is based on how long sperm live, realistically a few days under ideal conditions. On the tenth day of your cycle you will begin daily testing with OPKs (ovulation prediction kits))* and upon receiving a positive OPK you will “try” 3 more days in a row. Skip one day and give it one more try.

Danani · 19/09/2021 15:43

@SummerRose28 ahh very informative, thank you! I’ll do some further Googling 🤓

I find it so confusing tbf, there’s so much (and sometimes contradictory) information online! I wish they told us this in school. Who knew TTC was almost a full-time job!! I honestly thought, you DTD and BAM pregnant. 🙄😂

OP posts:
SummerRose28 · 19/09/2021 15:51

@Danani I know! No one seems to know what's best to TTC 😂

I said the exact thing the other day! The way they teach you in school, you have sex once and you're pregnant, condom or not 😂 it should definitely be taught properly!
