August Cycle Buddies??

Hi all I am currently 1DPO.
Anyone else entering their TWW?
or if you're further along in your cycle how many DPO are you and do you have any symptoms?
My period is due 20th of August.

Yea see I think it looks faint too, but then I was thinking am I just kidding myself with an evap line? I've got no cramps like I would usually have but I've got bleeding. It's most likely Aunt Flo. I would have thought if it was a true positive it would have been darker as it's now 16DPO

@HopefulMaama I only normally have 1 or 2 drinks a week but from Mon- Thurs had 2 drinks a night as was staying with a friend! Got my BFP on the Sat. But I know it's fine that early and I won't be drinking again now

@andpeggy1 I can definitely see a line too, definitely retest!!!

@andpeggy1 have to say I thought I'd seen a faint line too. Not to ask TMI but is it full AF?

@Silver31 it's such a minefield! I've learnt so much in the last week or so! I'm due to ovulate in the next day or so (I think!). Fingers crossed for us all!x

@Silver31 I'm feeling a bit overwhelmed at the moment tbh. I'm doing so much reading that I'm probably confusing myself and working myself up! What supplements to use, what tracking to do, how often and when to DTD, what exercise to do, what I should eat and drink ARGH!! I'm paranoid because I'm 33 and never been pregnant before (deliberate) so I don't even know at this point if it's possible and I know so many people struggle and I know it's 'normal' to take up to a year but by then I'll be nearly 35 and that's a worry. I'm naturally an over-analyser (surprise!!) and like to plan and do things to the best of my ability so I'm inevitably putting loads of pressure on myself which ironically will most likely be the reason I don't fall pregnant quickly 🤣🤯 I'm due AF any day but not very regular, usually between 33-35 days with the odd longer cycle thrown in. No symptoms yet which is suggesting it's going to be a longer one this month but the vaccine has definitely affected my cycle and I had my second jab end of July. Anyway, thanks for asking and for reading all that - Sometimes it just helps to get it out and written down! How are you feeling?

I'm good thanks. Just on day 4dpo and the wait is a killer. Going to wait till 10dpo till I test.

@Emz861 it's tough isn't it - I can't count the number of times I've said to my DH I'm outraged that schooling was focused on how to avoid unwanted pregnancy. Ironic really, it's only when you start trying you realise its maybe not quite that easy. Totally agree just having a space to get all the ifs buts and coconuts out there, really helps. Is there any advice from others you think may be helpful to know/hear? Just remember to be kind to yourself too!!

I'm ok, just counting the days and preparing myself that its early days and most likely to be a BFN. But that's ok, if AF arrives, it just means I get another chance next month. Hardest bit is not becoming a TTC bore (poor DH has had all sorts of figures and facts quoted at home 😂)

Thank you ladies for your positive encouragement, but I'm having a proper period. The cramps are real this morning and there's more blood than just spotting unfortunately. I don't want to try n chase a maybe by retesting when I know it's not a clear positive

@Silver31 thank you, yeah I totally agree. DP has had a bit of a shock as he was convinced that it would basically take a couple of times and jobs a good un, after all he was taught at school it only takes once 😂 likewise I've been a bit of a bore about it I think but he needs preparing! And some of the stats have shocked me too, definitely needs to be taught better in school. In terms of advice etc I think I'm gaining a lot just from reading posts and I'm just going to go for a pre-natal multivitamin (been on B's, D and Folic in separates for 2 months as it was cheaper that way!) and get some cheap OPKs to get an idea of when/if I'm ovulating and go from there. Have to see it as a journey and try not to focus too much on the end result ☺️ I'm so impatient though!! It's especially hard as so many of my friends have either had babies in the last year or are pregnant now so as much as I love being involved with their little ones or pregnancy it makes me ache for my own all the more 🥰. I think you've got the right attitude, I need to take a leaf out of your book!

@andpeggy1 sorry to hear that, it's really disheartening but all we can do is try to see it as a reset and chance to try again...in the meantime - 🍫💐!

@Emz861 thank you. Yea not going to lie I was pretty miserable yesterday. I still am a bit. But it can't happen for all of us right now. Good job I lot lots of ovulation tests at home! Try again n hope for next time

CD 24 here, 10dpo, negative tests so far, but only using cheapies. Been feeling cramps, sore boobs, etc since about 6dpo and some naseua today. Due AF tomorrow or Thurs. No sign yet and my temp is actually higher than normal, whereas normally it drops a few days before AF. Attached chart from last few cycles. The pink is this month's luteal phase and I think it's got an upward trajectory. Not sure what to think. My current symptoms could be AF or a sign of pregnancy I guess. But my temp looks a bit pregnancy??

I think I'm just venting here a bit. My brain is turning to mush it feels. Who knew this whole thing would be so stressful.

I did another test this morning as my period is officially late and it's negative again.

So still in limbo! Just so annoying when my period is never ever late and the first month ttc it's late but negative tests. Feels cruel! Like my cycle is just messing with me!

I'm am on CD13 today and just got my first static smiley .. How long after will I ovulate? I didn't do one yesterday so don't know if it would've been static then too but I am due to ovulate tomorrow anyway...

also I DTD on Sunday, (cd11) and I can tonight but not sure about tomorrow too I hope this is enough 🙁

Hey @HopefulMaama - AF did come 2 days late. So uncharacteristic but I suppose I've been unwell and super stressed so lots of things could have impacted it.

Just relieved to be into a new cycle now though!

@louise1997 you technically should ovulate within 12-48 hours of first static smiley (average is 36 hours after). Sperm can live for up to 5 days. If you dtd Sunday, tonight and tomorrow, you should have all your bases covered :) good luck xxx

I got my solid smiley on Tuesday, CD13 DTD not long after. Well obviously the smiley stays on the screen for 48 hours so I couldn't test again, I wanted to DTD last night (when I thought i was ovulating) too just to be sure but partner weren't up for it..

tested again this morning as I can use the tester again and it's another solid smiley even though I thought I had ovulated yesterday going off everything???? and now I'm upset cos I could've missed my chances.

I DTD cycle day 8,11 and 13.. thinking I'd ovulated yesterday.. now I'm CD15 and I've got another solid smiley??! 😞

@louise1997 they usually say don’t test again after you get your first solid smiley as it’s not the length of the surge that predicts ovulation. You can ovulate immediately as you get the smiley face or up to 48 and sometimes up to 72 hours after. The length of time that you have the smiley face doesn’t predict which day ovulation will occur. All you know is that it will occur sometime in the next 72 hours (average is 36 hours).
Test might be picking up LH on the way down again after ovulation.

Most fertile time to conceive is the 2-3 days before ovulation, and up to ovulation itself. Sperm can live for 5 days (sometimes more) so you should be good, even if you missed yesterday or today. You give yourself the best Chance of falling pregnant during your fertile window which is the 5 days before ovulation and the day of.
And they say daily sex is also not necessary. 2-3 times per week during your fertile window will do the trick!
