@Theawkwardblonde no, no history, this is the first time I've managed to fall pregnant! Maybe they are just being extra cautious, the clinic has the best ivf success rates in the UK and even though this isn't an ivf pregnancy they are monitoring as if it was so I need to trust them! It was only a prescription for a week, maybe I'm now in a risky time so they are trying to get through it. They told me at the weekend they'd do a scan at 5 and a half weeks to check placement, I'm 5+1 today so hopefully that will be Wednesday and might set my mind at rest! So pleased you got to 20 weeks! Have you started to relax now or does the anxiety continue? Im hoping I might stop worrying do much once I'm at 12 weeks

crazycatlady1981 · 09/08/2021 07:33

@polejunkie great news on the scan!! So happy that all is well! 💕

@Sunbird24 wishing you all the luck for your scan! Is it tomorrow? How are you feeling?

@MIW01 sorry that af’s been such a witch! But it’s good that you can start your ivf treatment now!! When’s your first scan?

We’ve got our follow up on Saturday so hoping once that box is ticked we’ll be able to get on with the FET, hopefully next month! 🤞🏻

Sunbird24 · 09/08/2021 07:44

I know it sounds weird, but I think I’m more scared of good news tomorrow than I am of bad news! I know what I’m doing with bad news, I’ve been through it before and other than a couple of awful weeks life goes on as it always has. Good news means months more of worrying and then (hopefully) life never ever being the same again…
Can you tell I’m an over-thinker? 🤦‍♀️

polejunkie · 09/08/2021 08:09

@crazycatlady1981 amazing you’re close to FET now, I know it’s probably felt ages away at certain points, here’s hoping that little frostie is the one 🍀

@Sunbird24 get that completely, the worry and anxiety is intense, but you deserve this life changing moment you’ve worked so hard for and dreamt of for some long - whatever happens you’ll be ok, it’s what we do x

becarefuloutthere · 09/08/2021 08:46

@Sunbird24 I feel like you with the worrying and anxiety! I keep worrying that I'm gonna fall and trip and it's ruins everything, or get Covid, or anything I do that isn't sit in my flat is going to cause damage 😣 bring on Wednesday!!

Low amh ladies, mine was 5.4 at 34 years old! I'm partly blaming endo for it being so low so will get it rechecked after pregnancy now that I've had the lap. If it's lower than that, it means frozen transfer if we wanna go for no2 in the future!

Marvellouslymadmum · 09/08/2021 10:01

@Motherofkittens28 you're getting so much monitoring from your clinic it's amazing! That kind of help should be on offer for everyone if they wish to pay for it and openly advertised I think! There are so many people who would do it and it may even bring the price of ivf down a little as the clinics would make some extra income elsewhere 🤷🏼‍♀️

@Sunbird24 it's hard not to over think these situations, have everything crossed for your scan that it's good news 🤞🏻

@Marvellouslymadmum they really should, it's so reassuring. They told me this morning that the blood thinner is because I have slightly elevated natural killer cells which can cause problems getting and staying pregnant

MIW01 · 09/08/2021 11:10

Thanks for sharing @becarefuloutthere! And it all worked out well for you which is so reassuring!

Thanks @crazycatlady1981 my scan is this afternoon! Then hopefully starting the meds that are in the fridge!

@Motherofkittens28 I'm glad to hear about the monitoring

thislittlebird · 09/08/2021 11:54

@MIW01 exciting you're starting!

I got an appointment with Guys finally, assuming that will still take a number of months yet, and need to schedule an appointment with our private clinic nurse for end of August/early September.

Theawkwardblonde · 09/08/2021 13:24

@Motherofkittens28 the anxiety has eased massively after my scan. The 12 week one was reassuring but anxiety started creeping in again. Tbf I had a massive bleed at 16 weeks so ended up panicking and in a and e. I think my baby is cheapest just going to be a drama Queen! Hope your scan goes okay.

@Sunbird24 good luck for your scan. Totally get the overthinking. I was still a nervous wreck after my 12 week scan.

@becarefuloutthere good luck for Wednesday!

MIW01 · 09/08/2021 18:58

Just back from fertility clinic, had my baseline scan and they found 9 follicles and only 1 very small fibroid! Womb lining was 4.2 mm. So I am pleased to be starting Menopur this evening! Fiancée was there with me to see the scan and felt so much more reassured having him there.

Sunbird24 · 09/08/2021 19:01

Fab @MIW01, that’s a good place to be starting from!

thislittlebird · 09/08/2021 19:10

@MIW01 very good news! He was allowed in? That's good, I hope mine is.

becarefuloutthere · 09/08/2021 19:28

@MIW01 yes defo! Just worries me for natural ttc but Ivf is there should we want to go again so it's good knowing that at least. Glad the scan went well! I felt like it went really quick once I started on the menopur! I'm glad Dh was allowed in too.
@thislittlebird I'm glad you have an appointment now!
@Theawkwardblonde aw thank you 😊 12 weeks tomorrow!!

MIW01 · 09/08/2021 20:13

Just given myself 1st dose of Menopur!

paintfairy · 09/08/2021 20:15

I keep losing track of these threads. Great to see so many people having successful outcomes of ivf or just starting out. Omg @Motherofkittens28 that's mental! What we all dream of. Congratulations! Is it a London clinic?

polejunkie · 09/08/2021 20:23

@MIW01 good for you, how did you find it, hopefully feeling a bit more at ease about it now? X

MIW01 · 09/08/2021 20:32

@polejunkie absolutely fine, fiancée helped me prepared it and I have no issues with injecting myself as I have to do that woth my insulin anyway. I'm a bit concerned that 1 of the main side effects is weight gain as I've worked so hard to get and keep it down and find myself plateaued again. So had an honest conversation about that, but hopefully I will get through it!

polejunkie · 09/08/2021 20:37

@MIW01 that’s great, it will whizz by now for you. Is the weight gain a side effect from IVF treatment in general? I wasn’t on menopur but other than general bloating I maintained my weight. So you might be ok but either way just go with it, you’re putting your body through a lot so don’t add any additional pressure x

MIW01 · 09/08/2021 20:42

@polejunkie it's listed as 1 of the main side effects in the leaflet and I know some people have said they went up at least 1 dress size! Which is a little worrying for me . . . But I am focus on the bigger picture!

@clolo thank you hun, hope you're well?! X
@MIW01 well done with first dose! It didn't make me put on weight and I fluctuate a lot usually.

@clolo you were on meriofert? I’ll be on that too, I’m glad it worked for you because I’ve read a few people say they didn’t respond and I’ve been worrying.
