Lets hope it brings us as much luck as 10 did to all our friends that graduated it.

Tania - I can completely sympathise with the emotional ups and downs. I was like that all last week and literally cried at anything. I felt completely all over the place, had really tense conversations with DH and spent most of Saturday wanting to hide under the duvet!! Fortunately I did manage to force myself to go out with some of my girl friends on Saturday and was so glad I did. Someone asked me how things were going and (with a couple of bottles of wine inside me ) I told her! It was like the flood gates opening and I realised that I had been bottling loads of things up and it had left me on the road to being a nervous wreck. Woke up Sunday morning like a different person feeling more relaxed and happpier than I have in ages - I even felt lighter !! Sorry that's gone on a bit but I wanted you to know that you're not alone in what you're feeling and that it happens to us all. I know it's difficult but try not to be too hard on yourself. All the very best for DS' sleep - you will have to be strong but tell yourself you are in it for the long game and you will all benefit in the end. (((hugs)))

RudyDudy · 08/11/2004 13:17

Sallie - sorry to hear DD is still not well. Hope she feels better soon.

Nikkichik - sorry to hear your DD is also not well. It really is that time of year My DS has had cough now for about a month but fortunately no D&V.

ChaCha - I didn't take anything after the lap. They were going to give us a year of ttc before doing anything else and we were lucky enough not to need it.

Sorry to hear about AF bonkerz

I'm CD31 today and thinking of buying another First Response test this afternoon. I know I should wait until Friday when AF is due as it will just get stupid and expensive if I test this early every month but it's taking every last bit of willpower not to. And I'm going to walk past a chemist later...

Sallie · 08/11/2004 13:23

stupidly I bought a first response twin pack today and used one this morning at work. Only on cd26 and ov 19/20 so not surprisingly got a bfn. However, not really expecting a bfp because of the week I had last week when I was ov. However, it doesn't stop the disappointment, does it?

RudyDudy · 08/11/2004 13:24

bonkerz - just re-read your thread and realised I completley misread it first time. sorry No advice to give re OV except perhaps start BD earlier and for longer...

RudyDudy · 08/11/2004 13:25

Hi Sallie - lol. makes me feel much better than I'm not the only early testing loon around I bought a FR on Saturday - did the first one then (BFN) and told myself I'd wait until at least Thurs to do the second. Er, I did yesterday afternoon - still BFP (of course!!) How stooopid am I???

Sallie · 08/11/2004 13:31

I bought the test ostensibly to use next week but just couldn't resist even thought I know in the back of my mind that it will be a bfn. Feel stupid and disappointed. Given that I only ov last Monday/Tues, it is too early yet, isn't it??? How long should you wait between ov and testing????

Geordie · 08/11/2004 13:33

14dpo at least sallie...some woemn get bfp's at 12dpo and I have a mate who got one at 11...but to get a good strong positive you need to waiot till 14 dpo at least - like that's easy................NOT

RudyDudy · 08/11/2004 13:39

imo you have to wait until the day you are going to test before you buy it or the temptation is just too great - no matter how much your head may know it's not worth doing it.

MunnzieB · 08/11/2004 13:41

hi girls,

Will look in properly tonight at home, just I have a quick question, is it normall to feel sick when you take angus catus, starflower and pregnacare? I've got AF vistin still so don't know if that contributes to anything?? Thanks

jeddah · 08/11/2004 13:48

Tania...have you gone to bed, its 1.40pm here just got in from the gym and had some lunch, was hoping to catch you.

Not read your thread yet on the sleep thing!.....remind me how old is your ds? and how long has he been visiting your bed?......has he ever slept through?, is he in his own room?
what are your dh thoughts on the sleep thing?

Nikkichick sorry about af!

bibi20.......so sorry you are feeling sad ...keep smiling ...you know you have all of us to go through this with you!

Tania, I think I ov on cd13/14, and I am only cd18 today so I will not be testing for another 10 days yet!.....know what you mean about Sex and the City.....my favourate programme in the whole world, I winged at every episode

Bloody dh and dp....wish they were a bit more understanding!!!

runtus · 08/11/2004 14:11

Afternoon ladies, just got back from the doc's with a prescription for Clomid, so it looks like my friend was right about the long cycle being an indicator of no oving.....have to say I am really really pleased to have been treated so sensibly even though we have only been trying for 6 months. I thought I would get told to go away and just keep trying but he actually listened to me when I said I knew something was up. being told I'm not oving sounds like bad news, but I am really pleased! At least for now I know it wasn't something we were or weren't doing right and we have a course of tablets to kick-start my system. Hooray!

Thanks Sweetheart for sending the ov testing kits across (meant to say earlier but got carried away!). I asked the doc if I was ok to use them when I'm on the Clomid and he said it shouldn't interfere at all, as they are basically a smaller version of the tests they do at the hospital anyway.I have to start the course on day 2, for 5 days and then have another blood test on day 21 to check I did ovulate.

Bit worried by all the talk of multiple birth risks but hey ho.....something to think about at a later date I guess!

Not had a chance to read through everyones posts but hope it is going well for everyone - I'll be back at work romorrow so expect an increase in postings from me!

jeddah · 08/11/2004 14:16

tania....just posted a friggin essay on your thread about sleep, on sleep training

Hope this helps, get back to me!

jeddah · 08/11/2004 14:18

sorry munnzieb......don't know much about the supplements...I am sure others will help!

Bibi20 · 08/11/2004 14:20

MunnzieB - I feel sick if I take all my supplements on an empty stomach! Especially found that with Pregnacare, so stopped taking it and just take folic acid instead (hope diet supplies other vits for now)

HTH

jeddah · 08/11/2004 14:22

Hi hester

Hi mommyd

Runtus....glad you got the clomid! its make such a difference when you have a clued in GP!! good luck!

jeddah · 08/11/2004 14:26

runtus....how long were your cycles then???

sweetheart · 08/11/2004 14:31

Rutus,

Welcome back from your trip - did you have a good time????

So glad to hear the doctor has given you a prescription!!! Get taking those drugs girl!! I want some good news from you next month!!! I'll be keeping my fingers crossed for you - and of course all you other ttc'ers!!!

ernest · 08/11/2004 15:14

sorry bibi, that soounds really tough, did your dh say anything how he felt? I see, thanks to geordie's great list your on cycle 11 - it must happen for you soon...... fingers crossed.

cosybear, no I don't have cats, but mil does. I'm tox. neg so generally avoided cats at all costs much to mil disapproval. Unfortunately I'm one of those people who doesn't really care for cats, but they make a bee line for me, well mil's cats do 7 I spend every visit playing musical chairs trying to get away from them. You can get tested, I was. may be worth it (but if you're pos, then don't let on to dh, so he can still get stuck with the job of cleaning the litter trays)

irishlass have you seen your gynae yet? hope all went well.

Quick q about ewcm - does they mean you def. are o'ing? or may be about to? or can you have ewcm without o? If you have ewcm is it too late to bd, or does it mean you should asap? I know it's a good sign but not really clear what it means?

SilverLining · 08/11/2004 15:26

Hi everyone!! Sorry for silence again - DD been really poorly with severe croup! No sleep for 3 days .......arghhhhh!!![tired face] Had a major run with non-existent emergency GP cover - all he said was, and I quote "get her in here in 5 minutes or ring an ambulance"! great service!!! So at the docs this morning but a waste of time - just sent away with antibiotics! So I've pulled strings and made the most of working in a Paediatric dept and have 2 private prescriptions and hopefully will get her on the mend!!!

Anyway, starting using the blinking OPKs and was most distraught as no sign of anything happening down there but last night was the darkest line ever!!! Guess what I had to persuade DH he really really wanted to do???? Feeling lucky as with all our sleep deprivation I feel certain that its going to happen!!!

Anyway - really glad the party went well Jeddah - kept wondering how you were getting on!!! Tania2 - so sorry you sound so blue! If I'd known we could have had a middle of the night chat!!! Runtus - glad things are moving in the right direction for you - fingers crossed!!! Multiple births .... now there is a thought!!! Bibi20 - you still with me on Come Dancing - it was my one shining light over a sh*y weekend!!!

Everyone else - hope you are all OK! Sorry have not made it through every post but hope we are all surviving!!!

xxxx

BeckiF · 08/11/2004 16:09

Hi Ladies, I've had such a mad busy weekend out and about all over. Anyway, did my first OPK on Saturday to 'get the feel' of what they look like. Saw the faintest of lines, so I know that they work! I intend to use the whole box up and then get another one if I don't get AF before hand! Not that I'm expecting to as I'm willing my premonition of a September baby to come true! YEAH!! Come on ladies, send me GOOD LUCK AND BABY DUST VIBES PLEASE!

jeddah · 08/11/2004 16:10

runtus · 08/11/2004 16:41

Hi girls, sorry to hit and ruin like that, got sent off on a million errands today! Thanks for the warm welcome back, feel a bit out of it having been away from the thread for a while, you lot don't half talk!

Can't wait for my af to come now cos I just want to get started on the old pills, patience never was my strong point! How are you feeling S/heart??? Have you had the dr's visit and all that yet?? Thanksa gain so much for the opk's, will really help me focus our'efforts, as the dr put it! I told my dp that we have to centre around day 14 ("cos the Dr doesn't want me to have to have loads of courses of the drug, if it doesn't kick start my system") and obviously I got a pained face at organised bding but to be honest he needs to get over that whole issue....needs must!

I went out and bought him loads of Zinc tabvlets today as well, going to tell him they are a supplement the dr suggested folllwing his really bad food poisoning (do you guys remember how bad that was?!), all a bit sneaky but as I say....needs must!!!

sweetheart · 08/11/2004 16:46

runtus,

Glad to hear you've put your dh in check Tell him you're in charge now!!!!

Had a dr apt last week but he didn't really do anything apart from add it to my notes. I have a midwife apt next week but apart from that not much happening. Starting to feel very sicky unfortunatly!!! I've still got 1 Ib to loose on ww so I'm hoping I'll have lost that tonight so that I can stuff my face!!!!!!
