Hi everyone! We are currently trying for baby #3 This is cycle 2 and CD5. Period last week was shorter and lighter than normal, really confused me as its never been like that, did 2 tests but both BFN so trying again this month :) Not putting too much pressure on it, just going with the flow and if it happens it happens, trying not to stress too much about it 🙈 anyone else TTC this month? Hoping I can chat in here with people doing the same ❤

@Rudyroo great idea! Ugh the moment of truth is just so nerve racking isn’t it? I’ve got everything crossed for you - so far you’ve had great signs! 🥰 I’m doing ok thank you! Feeling tonnes better about everything today but AF still hasn’t arrived boo. I’ve been spotting today though so the witch must be on her way 😂

Puppymamababymama · 20/04/2021 18:09

Feeling down today ladies. I work with infants and there is a new baby in my class today. Two of my friends also just announced pregnancies online. Feeling that longing extra hard today. I really hope this is the cycle but still 2 days til ovulation and then the TWW ugh 😩 I try to keep my mind off it as much as I can but it's hard not to think about babies when you work with babies. I just want my own sweet pea with me ❤️

Timeandtidal · 20/04/2021 18:20

Sorry to hear you are feeling down. Double whammy of newborn at work and friends' pregnancy announcements is tough and totally understand why you're feeling those pangs. It will happen for you. Everything crossed for you hoping this is your month.💜

Hxoxox · 20/04/2021 18:43

@Puppymamababymama I absolutely know how you are feeling! It's a deep gut wrench and emotional. I used to feel silly after it but when you want something so bad and it seems like everyone else has it it's tough! Good luck and keep positive lovely x

Milly238 · 20/04/2021 18:54

Awww @Puppymamababymama I’m so sorry you’re feeling this way!! It must be so difficult working with babies while trying 😢 I agree with the others - it’ll happen for you and you will be an amazing mum when it does! Really hope this is a successful cycle for you ❤️❤️

Rudyroo · 20/04/2021 19:01

@Puppymamababymama hand hold. Totally get where you are coming from and you are absolutely not alone in feeling like this. The only thing I can say which might be slightly helpful is that it always seems so easy for people when they announce pregnancies, but really as we know from mumsnet it's not as easy as it looks for a lot of people. You will get there and it will be your turn 💛

Rudyroo · 20/04/2021 19:04

@Puppymamababymama also I have just read further down that you have no used OPK's yet? You will find it hugely helpful! I don't think I would have conceived DD without them!

Onehotmess · 20/04/2021 22:18

Well AF arrived 🙈 although I’m gutted, I’m also relieved as I was driving myself crazy! Lessons learnt for me;

  1. do NOT start testing from 9dpo!
  2. do NOT throw your used tests in a drawer because a) ewwww! And b) you will eventually get an evap and send yourself doolally.
  3. do NOT ‘listen to your body’ SHE LIES!
  4. I am nearly 40; I need to accept it may take a while and may not happen at all.
  5. Breathe! GL to our lovely BFP ladies and everyone in the TWW I’ll be back TTC May! 😍🤞
Puppymamababymama · 21/04/2021 01:29

Thank you so much everyone for your heartfelt messages. Feeling a little better after some rest and distractions. It does help to have other to talk too. ❤️

@rudyroo I honestly hadnt even heard of OPKs till I joined this thread. It's amazing how much we don't get taught about our bodies and TTC. I honestly wouldn't even know where to start but might do some research soon if we don't conceive this month that way I can be ready for next month.

@Onehotmess Ah, so sorry AF showed up. I wish you all the luck next cycle. I will say I think I could follow some of your advice myself, I definitely need to breathe and wait till later to test. Get some well deserved rest 💐

Rudyroo · 21/04/2021 06:36

Hey ladies I was woken up during the night last night with bad cramps, I don't have a good feeling about it as it's pretty much what happened when I had at CP in jan. No bleeding yet though. I've not even done a test yet but I have a gut feeling. Feeling really down 😢

Hxoxox · 21/04/2021 08:28

@Rudyroo the weekend before I took my test I had cramps like periods that dull pulling feeling and I was sure my period was coming. It could be implantation? X

Rudyroo · 21/04/2021 08:55

@Hxoxox thank you, yeah I had these dull cramps when I was pregnant before too, I think I was just really worried last night as they were more severe, bad enough to wake me up and I had to go to the toilet to check I wasn't bleeding. Have taken some paracetamol and the pains have subsided now. It could be implantation pain but I think the last 2 times I have been pregnant these have been more like sharp shooting pains. This time I've had 2 days of dull cramps then bad ones, but I guess every pregnancy is different so can't expect this to be exactly like before. Anyway, I have one frer so I'll test at the weekend 🤞🏼 going to try and distract myself with focussing on work today.

Hxoxox · 21/04/2021 08:58

@Rudyroo Aww, it's so frustrating isn't it all the waiting! Definitely take the test maybe in a couple of days! Hope it all works out for you and everything is going to be ok! X

Rudyroo · 21/04/2021 09:00

@Hxoxox it's awful! I'm very anxious anyway and TTC is really making taking it out of me 😰 must try and relax.
Hope all is going well for you! Do you think you will book in for an early pregnancy scan?

Hxoxox · 21/04/2021 09:07

@Rudyroo Anxiety is the worst isn't it!? I never thought TTC and then afterwards would be so stressful before as all my friends made it look so easy and relaxing! (Probably from the outside looking in).

I'm booked in for a scan first week in May! Private one. Just want to put my mind at ease hopefully that so far everything is ok.

Rudyroo · 21/04/2021 09:11

@Hxoxox it's crazy TTC + pregnancy is such a minefield 🤯 aww that's great, I did that with my DD and it really helped me to relax. Such a ridiculously long wait til 12 weeks otherwise!

Timeandtidal · 21/04/2021 16:16

@Rudyroo Must have been scary feeling those cramps. Like you say, every pregnancy is different. Hopefully cramps are a sight of good progress with this one.

OPK users, does anyone know how many days you generally get a positive OPKs for?

I have had positive OPKs three days in a row: CD16, 17 and 18.

Really surprised Ov isnso late in my cycle, but I had a miscarriage in Feb so maybe my cycle is still settling down.

Puppymamababymama · 21/04/2021 17:29

@Rudyroo oh no! I'm so sorry to here this. Hoping it's nothing serious for you but I know it's hard not to worry. I just had a CP last cycle so I'm here if you need someone to talk to. Wishing you all the best, stay hopeful there's no bleeding so that's a good sign 💐

Tryingandhopeful · 21/04/2021 17:39

Hey guys sorry I’ve been a bit quiet recently!! Just trying to keep distracted and get through to tomorrow when I can test again if AF doesn’t show!!

@Timeandtidal I have had 3 positive OPKs before during my first cycle!! They say to go from the first positive one. Are they all the same level of darkness? Yeh you might experience changes to your cycle if you had a mc in Feb 😢 sorry to hear that you went through that!!

@Onehotmess boo to AF showing up!! I love your little positive reflections though from the process!! Completely agree with u about not testing early and also about the symptom spotting!!! Both very deflating experiences!!! My friend was having issues with fertility and they recommended reading ‘It starts with the egg’ for anyone over the age of 30 (I’m 35) and it’s really interesting!! The author recommends taking coQ10 supplements when trying naturally to help improve egg quality and reduce likelihood of mc!! She suggests a lot of other things like diet, minimising amount of BPAs in your life and also making sure you have right level of Vit D supplement! I’ve just done the vitamins aspect of her recommendations this cycle but she does say it can take up to 3 months as that’s how long it takes the egg to mature!

@Rudyroo aww I agree with what the others have said!! It is hard to relax I think when you’re experiencing sudden cramps 😔 I have everything crossed for you that it’s a positive sign though and that it’s a little bub getting snug in there 🤞🏻🤞🏻 Sending all the positive vibes to you!!! I think it’s so nice having the support from everyone on here, I don’t how I got through the last 2 cycles without this support!!

Rudyroo · 21/04/2021 18:31

Thanks everyone for being so lovely. It really helps to know that you all sympathise as we are all in the crazy TTC boat together!

@Timeandtidal I have always used the clear blue advanced ones, so I basically always have about 3/4 days of flashing smiley and then I get my peak (static smiley) at which point you it stay like that for 2 days so you can't do any more tests. I always make sure I have sex that day and the day after. Not sure if that helps x

@Puppymamababymama thank you, it's horrible isn't it, I just keep thinking to myself well wouldn't it be so much worse ifI had been further on in pregnancy, trying to stay on the bright side and all that! No bleeding so and the pain has calmed down now so I'm starting to feel a bit more positive 🤞🏼

@Tryingandhopeful thank you 💛 I totally agree, I find speaking to people going through the same helps massively, it's hard when there is such secrecy in the beginning and you feel like you don't want to share with friends/family too much as you don't want to get their hopes up and also have the pressure!
Keeping everything crossed that AF doesn't show for you 🤞🏼

Tryingandhopeful · 22/04/2021 07:10

Ok ladies I need some help!! I am so confused!! I took the cheap test first thing as I thought if that comes back negative it will be better than using up my frer which I can use next cycle!! However I saw a very faint line!!! So decided to whack out the frer to confirm, however that’s come up negative!!! 🤯 not a sign a of a faint line at all!! Although I noticed the control line is a bit wiggly and not straight if that makes sense?! I just got DH to nip to the local shop and the CB was the only branded one there so he got that, and I can see another faint line!! DH can’t see anything so I’m not sure if I’m going crazy and just seeing what I want to believe?! Surely the frer would pick it up?! What do you all think?

tuxedocat · 22/04/2021 07:44

@Tryingandhopeful I can see a line on the CB!! How many days DPO are you?

Tryingandhopeful · 22/04/2021 07:50

@tuxedocat I’m 13/14 dpo! Due AF today and I feel like I’m going to come on but nothing yet!! Just a bit confused by the 3 different tests!! Going to have test again in a couple of days if AF doesn’t show and pray the lines get darker 🤞🏻 Glad you can see something on the CB! Not sure if DH is being indenial or if he actually can’t see it 🙈

tuxedocat · 22/04/2021 08:15

@Tryingandhopeful I can see it, try on Saturday morning and hopefully it’ll be darker, perhaps implantation was a little later! The FRER looks a little off though, I agree! 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻

Missmcmonkeymcbean · 22/04/2021 08:56

@Onehotmess - i'm so sorry to hear AF arrived. I'm in the same boat as you at 39 and I'm ttc #1. All my friends are on their 2nd or 3rd and i'm stressing out that if it doesn't happen soon then it's never going to happen. feel free to message me if you want to chat. xx
