Shazza you have given me hope. AF is late, took a test today but BFN but just thinking back and if i ov a week later than i thought then it wouldn't show up on test yet. A week after i thought i ov would have been a Friday and on the Saturday i started getting horrable cramps and tummy pains but thought it was strange because it was too early for period pains.

Have had them since then but they aren't as bad as they were to start with. I have a bit of hope left after feeling so down earier

madoldbird · 26/11/2007 09:14

Good morning ladies

shazza & S&C lovely, lovely news, cheered me up no end when i logged on to catch up this morning. Great to have some good news, and lovely to end the recent drought. Roll on a few more BFP's!!!

Well i am now on the 2ww - after rather premature smiley faces on thursday & friday. Only managed to BD once on friday due to all the difficult stuff we have going on ATM but we are still hopeful that once is enough! Only thing worrying me is that since thursday i have had v tender (.)(.)and they are still bad today. I think i have read somewhere that they can be a bit tender around ov, but shouldn't that go away? Am also feeling "hormonally emotional" IYKWIM so am worried my hormones are basically up the creek.

So now officially BORED and need the next 2w to go quick!

Hope everyone is ok today, am just putting a big saucepan of homemade soup on to simmer (working from home this morning) - should be ready by lunchtime if anyone fancies it!! (Shall i drop some flasks of it in later?)

Oh, that reminds me... went to the nutritionalist the other day, who basically said that i am reasonably healthy and it should happen at some point. She has given me multi-mineral drops and some zinc ones to supplement the ante-natal vits i take, and said to eat lots and lots of green leafy veg and oily fish. She also was not too keen on the grapefruit juice idea - said that it could make the body too acidic overall, and CM needs to be alkaline to keep swimmers alive. Have forgotten to do it this month anyway! Obviously just her thoughts but i thought i would pass it on. She is going to put us both on Marilyn Glenville's fertility supplements if i haven't had a BFP when i see her in January.

Morning all.

Haven't left yet. Would like to stick around for bit longer if that's ok, would like to move with company

Thank you all my virtual friends. DP asked me who I'd told. Was shocked when I said about 10 people, but said it was ok as it was nobody in RL. He looked at me like I'd gone gaga.

cbcb Not clued up really, I cheated with a CBFM that my friend lent me. So got my peaks on CD18/CD19. BD on CD16 / CD18 / CD20, and a few other days during the month but I'm guessing it was one of those batch of swimmers that caught.

Hope you all get lovely BFP's soon

CBCB - Amy Winehouse was pretty good considering. She was 1hr 15 mins late on stage which is a loooong time when it's an all standing venue , so her set was pretty short. She has an amazing voice and was note-perfect, but without her stage presence IYKWIM? She didn't have much chat between songs and the chat she did manage was pretty incoherant and slurred. I had a pretty good view and she was really twitchy through most of it, tugging at the hem of her twinkle skimmer of a dress, her beehive (HUGE) and her bra straps contantly.

hello shreksmissus - cycle buddies together. This 2WW is boring and noooo symptoms at all.

DG and Bucky - how was the meet up on Friday?

hello to everyone else. What flavour soup are you making MOB? I am cooking Christmas dinner this year and I have to think of what soup to make (family tradition demands soup ) so any ideas gratefully received.

Any other BFP's out there? We are on a roll this month

GryffinGirl · 26/11/2007 14:14

p.s. think I have made a bit of a cock-up. I ran out of Lady Vitamins so just bought the regular multi-vits out of Boots. When cleaning my teeth this morning I glanced at the packet and it says that pregnant women "or those planning to become pregnant" shouldn't take them because they contain Vitamin A. I know you are meant to be careful with Vitamin A during pregnancy, but it didn;t for a minute occur to me that ordinary dose multi-vits would be a bad idea

GryffinGirl · 26/11/2007 14:17

LOL at Shazza and her DH not having told anyone in RL (just your virtual mates).

libralady · 26/11/2007 14:20

Arrrgh GG.
I didn't think. I've been taking multivits throughout ttc and now I'm 8+5.
Any suggestions anyone?

scorpio1 · 26/11/2007 14:22

Stop taking them, and take something like pregnacare. Vit A is toxic to a fetus in large doses- thats why they advise no eating liver, etc.

scorpio1 · 26/11/2007 14:23

more info

Try not to worry though, its big big doses that matter.

JollyBear · 26/11/2007 14:27

Hello everyone,

Wow, what an exciting rush of BFP's over the weekend. Congratulations Coolkat, S&C and Shazza!!

Hope to see you back soon Pixie.

GG - I can recommend butternut squash for your Christmas dinner! It is yummy, good old Delia, she knows what she is doing!

GryffinGirl · 26/11/2007 14:29

libralady - I really think it will be fine. You probably have to ingest a LOT of Vitamin A for any negative impact and I am sure the ordinary does multi-vits won't do any harm to you or your baby, despite that a*se covering disclaimer I saw. But i thought I'd better tell the 2WW crew in case they were taking Boots own brand Muti Vitamins and Minerals (the red tube)

Nevertheless, I was at the caution on the packet when it happened to catch my eye this morning. TBH I was a bit sceptical that Pregnacare was any better - a bit more fine tuned maybe and I thought that, on balance, it probably had the edge, but having run out of the women's vitamins I had been taking, I've been merrily popping the ordinary ones and patting myself on the back that i am not exposing any potential beanie to malnutrition

Shazza2002 · 26/11/2007 14:31

cbcb I think the CBFM really helped. I thought I OV on CD13/CD14 which fits in with when the 'textbooks' tell you it should happen, but CBFM was still saying high. But then on CD17 I had real bad twinges and thought maybe that was it, then got the peak the next day so confirmed it for me. Without it I don't think I would have 'really' known, mainly cause the fact I was looking out for EWCM and only had a tiny bit once when I visted the loo. So had I relyed on that I would have been totally screwed (well I was ) but you know what I mean .

It was great the frienc could lend me it, but I probably would have bought one anyway. Without it I probably would have wasted loads of money on PG tests. Also, monitor flashed m at me this morning which is telling you your AF is due, so takes a bit of that guess work out too.

HTH

GryffinGirl · 26/11/2007 14:34

that's a good article Scorpio - thanks for the reassurance.

Jollybear - love the butternut squash soup idea! I am off to the book shop later to find the Delia book (and copy the recipe down without anyone noticing - naughty!)

scorpio1 · 26/11/2007 14:35

Thats ok, it wasn't all that long ago i was on here(conception) ttc! it can and does get confusing

GryffinGirl · 26/11/2007 14:38

By obsessing about taking Folic Acid daily, I had overlooked the Vitamin A thing, even though I did know it was bad in large doses and to avoid liver for that reason. Ah well, you live and learn.

libralady · 26/11/2007 14:40

Thanks for that scorpio. I'll stop taking them straight away.
cbcb I fell pg on the seond month of using the CBDM. I too thought to bd around CD12/13/14 but discovered that I got my peak fertility on CD 9/10/11. I bought mine 2nd hand off e-bay for £46.00. Once I know this one has stuck, I'll put it back on for auction and recoup my money. All I did was to spend £20 in Boots for the sticks.

JollyBear · 26/11/2007 14:56

GG - the recipe I have is in Delia's winter book, but let me know if you can't find it and I'll copy it out for you!

digitalgirl · 26/11/2007 15:06

thanks for the article scorpio hope your pregnancy is progressing well.

GG lunch was great thanks, we did a little bit of shopping afterwards which was also fun. looking forward to the next one with you there too! btw squash/pumpkin soup is lovely, i have one in my veggie cookbook if you want. I'll post it up later when I get home.

shazza how you feeling today? feel preggers at all?

Me me me bit:
I went for my day19 blood test today at cd30! The nurse who took my test said I'd done the right thing coming a week after I ovulated. He said that so many doctors just send women out for these hormone tests on the textbook days without thinking.

What he doesn't know is that I can't be sure at all when I've hatched. Have not had many symptoms the past few days, other than some EWCM yesterday. I think cervix felt firm, but am losing confidence in distinguishing between firm and hard now.

(.)(.) have absolutely no tenderness, confirmed by DH manhandling them yesterday in a fit of passion . I feel so normal, like it's CD7. Will ask Danny the Acupuncturist tonight if that's a good thing, like maybe my hormones are sooo balanced that i no longer have bad reactions to them (in the form of cramps, sore nips etc).

Am hoping I have a sweetkitty-style BFP looming i.e. no symptoms

Shazza2002 · 26/11/2007 15:14

Hi DG

I'm fine. Only difference today is nad headache, haven't had one for at least a year (well none hangover one that is ). I'm still waiting for AF to arrive TBH. That's what I feel like, so just pre menstrual as apposed to PG. Getting slight nausea in the back of my throat, but that could be the chocolate

very impressed too with your visit to the doc, but then if they'd read on here they's realise you probably know more than them . So where they checking for prostegene [sp?], or hopefully they found some HCG lurking

Shazza2002 · 26/11/2007 15:15

My spelling grammer was terrible in that post, maybe I have more symptoms than I realise

Bucky2007 · 26/11/2007 16:21

Hello everyone.

Shazza big congratulations. I think I will immediately go to Ebay and add one of those CBDM to my top ten items as I am still failing to get a thermometer!

DG glad your doc appt went well. I do hope you get some answers. I am hoping that the answer you get is that you are BFP but any answers would be good for you!

Gryffingirl you were missed. I'm not going to Scotland for Christmas now as the Finn dog gets car sick so you won't have to rescue me .

And now let's talk about me ...

Actually I don't have anything interesting to say yet CD8, two more days till I can try not to break my new OPKs. I hope we're on a BFP roll here...it's great!

Shazza2002 · 26/11/2007 19:06

To be honest may have missed the boat if didn't have the CBFM. Would have presumed I OV around CD14. Was trying every other day from about CD8, but is difficult to do it that often with young DD who doesn't sleep through night and to still keep it fun.

So when I got the peak on CD18 suddenly found a 2nd wind and knew I (or more rather DP) had to give it his best shot. If your cycles are regular then the CBD opks will pretty much do the same thing, just my 1st cycle off pill was 39 days so I had no clue when I would of been best starting to test.

Just found it interesting to learn when I actually OV. My friend that lent it to me OV on CD17 of a 28 day cycle, so again later that all these sites and books lead you to believe.

HTH

Hope you all get your BFP's soon and we can all be on another thread together

digitalgirl · 26/11/2007 20:15

shazza so no sore boobies or zombie-like fatigue? sounds like a good'un.

bucky not long now before it's business time

should find out progesterone test results on wednesday. how exciting!

this evening i had my third acupuncture session, it was muuuch more relaxing. as i'm now in my follicular phase (post-ove) he stuck a needle in the top of my head and at different points on my legs and ankles. then he put a hot lamp over my feet. i fell asleep several times and really zoned out. was veh veh nice . hopefully there's a little egg floating around waiting to implant over the next few days.

off to cook dinner now.
