Hello Smile.

This is my second month ttc baby #1. I am using OPKs and Conceive Plus. Currently on CD7. Definitely underestimated how much of a rollercoaster ttc would be!

Anyone want to join and share experiences?

@rosiej95 oh we must literally be right around the same, I had my smiley on Sunday - TWW is painful!!

Ave93 · 24/02/2021 16:11

@rosiej95 it’s a lot of dtd! I guess if you’re using OPKs you know the fertile days anyway so you should be doing it at the right time. Last month I counted my dpo from two days after as I think it can take up to 36hrs after a static smiley. When are you going to test?

@Timetobeamummy. Hey! I’m the same as you with reading all the website etc lol. It’s so hard not to think about something you really want isn’t it! What cycle day are you?

@Genevive123. Hello! Not long now to wait until you can test - fingers crossed for a Bfp!

Genevive123 · 24/02/2021 16:24

@Ave93 haha hopefully! Though I don't really feel hopeful this month to be honest!! Had some really painful pulling on my right side but no change in nipples or anything and a lot of people say that's the first sign :(

Ave93 · 24/02/2021 16:29

@Genevive123 everyone is different though and I know a lot of people who had no symptoms at all and feel as if their af is about to start! Positive thoughts haha!

rosiej95 · 24/02/2021 16:32

@Ave93 ahhh, I dtd Saturday, Sunday but not Monday so hopefully we've timed it right.

@wildthingss ooo 🤞🏻 for us both then, looking forward to the 2ww to be over tbh 😂 I hate this part 🤦🏼‍♀️

Timetobeamummy · 24/02/2021 16:47

@Ave93 CD1, I was 6 days late on AF had so had some hope that it wouldn’t arrive at all! Had a BFN two days ago so I was just waiting. No such luck though so now officially ‘trying’ 🍀

OPKs and BBT tracking to start this month, anyone got good recommendations for apps? There is so many to choose some so any advice on the best ones would be appreciated.

Ave93 · 24/02/2021 17:23

@Timetobeamummy. I use Natural Cycles but I’ve heard fertility friend is good for bbt charting too and it’s free! It is disappointing when you get a BFN after a late AF I had the same last month. I started using pregnacare and apparently the b6 can make you a little late.

@rosiej95. Sounds like you have! Sperm often lives for a few days too.

Hello everyone!

I'd like to join too :) Currently ttc for two months now, feel naive in saying this but was so convinced it would happen straight away - after all we were taught in school! Grin

Goodies from Amazon have also arrived, so far I'm going for Clearblue OPKs (why is that static smiley face the most satisfying thing IN THE WORLD?!) and OVUM fertility supplements (contains everything recommended in the book 'it starts with the egg' that i've just finished reading. That's it for now and I'll give combo a few months before adding in anything new!

Lovely to meet you all!

MissSM9102 · 24/02/2021 19:29

Hi ladies Smile

I'd like to join too!

TTC #1 for about 14/15 months, although first few months there was no timing etc just took it easy, I just turned 30 last week.

Last few months have been super strange for me. Never seemed to reach a peak or even a high level on OPK and then I had a 112 day cycle! I waited it out as long as I could and then contacted GP who advised bloods on day 1 and 21 of next cycle, of course I had no idea when day 1 would be but about 2 weeks after our call AF finally appeared. Day 1 bloods came back with no issues and I'm booked in for day 21.

Currently on day 15, PreMom app also showing ovulation today based on peak from OPK so fingers crossed this may be my lucky cycle after the long ass wait to get going again!

Ave93 · 24/02/2021 20:51

@TTC40. Hey! I felt the exact same way when I had my bfn after trying for the first time last month - it’s difficult not to get disheartened but I think it’s normal to take some time! It is very exciting when you get a static smiley - currently waiting for mine!

@MissSM9102. It’s a good sign that you’re getting a positive OPK. Must have been frustrating to have such a long cycle - hopefully it was just a one off odd month and that the second lots of blood results will come back normal. Keeping my fingers crossed for you that this will be your lucky month.

So he got his results... sperm morphology of 3. Low? Anyone got any advice/ experience with this? Doctor gave no suggestions just to test in 3 months!?

Can we still have babies!?

SendMeHome · 26/02/2021 19:41

Hi all. Can I join?

Cycle 4 of TTC #1. Came off the pill in November, but my cycle has been pretty clockwork since December. Ovulation day today! But I’m dubious about this month, as I get my vaccine tomorrow...

Fingers crossed for everyone.

I’ve no experience of sperm analysis, laura but I hope someone can help Flowers

02Carol · 26/02/2021 22:00

Evening ladies,

Hope you don't mind me chipping in.

I've been reading through lots of different discussions and this one makes me feel the most at home.

This is my 3rd cycle trying for my first baby.

I can't echo enough, what a bag of emotions it has been, and how no one prepares you for it.

Also, they should stop teaching children at school that you have sex once without protection and 'bang' you're pregnant!!!

Liesssss!!!

I know 3 months in the grand scheme of things is not long, but I'm already questioning my ability to conceive. I'm 38 tomorrow too, so really feeling the pressure that time is running out.

Be nice to be on this crazy journey with some other ladies I can talk too, as I've decided to not tell anyone we are trying to conceive, so this will be a bit of a mental life line.

Thanks x

Just jumping on! 31 & TTC baby no.1 and just got AF on 3rd cycle of trying. Always knew it would take some time but feel like I’m losing my mind! Please someone tell me I’m not alone 😂

I track ovulation & OPKs but please send any tips & tricks my way 🤞🏼

I just got AF today and on 3rd cycle!

So you are definitely not alone 👍

Ave93 · 28/02/2021 20:56

@Moomin889 hi! You’re definitely not alone - I’m on my second cycle of trying to conceive baby no 1. I’m using OPKs and tracking my temperature each morning. Also using conceive plus lube. Everyone tells you that relaxing and not thinking about it helps but I find that one almost impossible 😂. My husband is taking vitamins but not sure if it makes much of a difference in the end.

@02Carol we’ve decided not to tell anyone that we’re trying either as I worry it’ll add more pressure if people are expecting it so it’s definitely nice to have this platform to chat to other ladies in similar situations. Three months isn’t long but each month does feel like it drags when ttc doesn’t it?!

OP posts:
02Carol · 28/02/2021 21:10

@ave93

Yeah, I didnt want the pressure of people asking 'are you pregnant?'

Also not sure how my employer will respond, so I'll cross that bridge later 🤣

The month really drags, and any nipple twinge or cramp, I'm like ' oooo am I pregnant?!' 'is that implantation pain', I think I'm suffering from false conception hypochondriac, help!

SendMeHome · 28/02/2021 21:36

*Also, they should stop teaching children at school that you have sex once without protection and 'bang' you're pregnant!!!

Liesssss!!!*

Sadly this has proved true for all my friends - the idea of TTC is alien to them 🙈 It’s the big reason that we’re not telling anyone that we’re TTC, so I’m with you all that it’s super weird not talking about something big with everyone.

Ovulation day was Friday, but yesterday I had my vaccine and today I’ve been feeling pretty rough, so I think we’d be lucky... it’s gonna be a hard 2WW this time, I think.

Ave93 · 28/02/2021 22:09

@02Carol Yeah exactly - it’s the last thing you want is people asking. I’m in a similar situation with my employer, I started my current job last August so haven’t been there a particularly long time. I’m terrible at symptoms spotting too, it’s difficult not to pay attention to every twinge.

@SendMeHome keeping my fingers crossed for you! My sister in laws have got pregnant very quickly which puts pressure on but just try and remind myself that everyone is different and it’s normal to take some time. When are you going to test?

OP posts:
acaciabluebell · 28/02/2021 22:16

Hi guys I would love to join too 💕 I'm 25 years old and TTC#1. We've been trying for 11 months now. Currently on 9dpo today but not feeling any different to previous months.

Timetobeamummy · 28/02/2021 22:58

Evening Ladies,
I enjoyed AF to the full this weekend Gin & all the things I like. The only benefit to AF! Back on the wagon in a few days!

@SendMeHome is hilarious isn’t it we spend several years trying not to get pregnant then years trying too. I agree we have kept TTC to ourselves although you always get the family asking when a grandchild or Niece/nephew is arriving 🙄🤣

02Carol · 03/03/2021 22:24

Evening everyone, tomorrow is AF last day, so it's cycle 4 attempt at TTC #1, so I'm using the CB ovulation kit to help identify peak days, and also going to DTD every other day throughout.

Also hadn't even though about not using lube, so it's officially on the blacklist!!

Good luck to everyone else this March

Ave93 · 04/03/2021 10:13

@02Carol. Good luck! Keeping my fingers crossed for you this month.

I’m CD15 now and had a positive OPK on Tuesday with CB Ovulation so in the 2ww now. Going to try my best not to symptom spot this month or test too early!! We DTD every other day from the end of my AF and then a couple days in a row when I got a positive OPK. Just a waiting game now!

OP posts:
rosiej95 · 04/03/2021 10:48

@Ave93 sounds like you've covered all basis 🤞🏻 It's so hard to symptom spot but the thing I've found easier is always thinking about the next day 😂 thinking like tomorrow is 3dpo 1 day closer to the end of the 2ww 😂

I'm either 11dpo or 12 dpo & so far bfn I thought I saw a shadow of a line this morning but boyfriend couldn't see it & i could be seeing things. I would have thought there would be a stranger line there by now if it was positive 🤷🏼‍♀️
I've got no symptoms apart from a few cramps today & my nipples have been a little sensitive but nothing sore or anything as such so I'm not massively convinced 🤷🏼‍♀️🙈

Ave93 · 04/03/2021 11:28

@rosiej95. We couldn’t do anymore than that so it’s just waiting and seeing now! That’s a good idea, I need to start doing that and just take one day at a time haha.

11/12dpo is still on the early side of testing so there’s still hope of getting a positive. Fingers crossed that shadow line you saw this morning will keep developing. What tests are you using?
