Why is ovulation late?

Hi all.

Is there a reason ovulation would be late??

I'm a typical 28day cycle with ovulation on day 13 or 14. Today is day 16 and no ovulation flagged on clear blue yet.is there a reason for this? Should we continue to DTD?

It just says to email your details once you get a positive test... could maybe depend on area? (Im Cumbria) however maybe I shouldn't worry about not having a reply for another week or so if that's the case!

I only really have a coffee in the morning when I drive to work but I really really struggled without it last week! Also, I did dry Jan and Feb then got positive test on 1st Mar so I could be doing a dry year 🤦🏼‍♀️😂.

I stopped my pill start of December so 3, I was fully expecting it to take a while too after being on the pill for so long. No-one knows yet, depending on the early scan if a few weeks we may tell parents then if everything looks ok.

Yes it must be area based then. I'm Bedfordshire.

Hahaha a whole year with no alcohol. We will need it when they are toddlers 😂

So exciting. Think we will go for an early scan too probably around 8/9weeks.

Have you worked out roughly when you will be due? I'm over excited and think I'll be 16th November

I'm thinking 12/13th Nov!
My birthday in Oct, baby hopefully Nov and then Xmas I don't think my boyfriend has worked that out yet 😳💰.

I know, I'll be asking for gin for Christmas 100%!

I ended up just coming out with it and showing the tests when I came in from work last Tues I couldn't hold it in anymore after knowing for nearly 2 days at the point! 🙈 then we took the dog for a walk which was nice to have a lovely long talk about it.
I'd ordered him a book from Amazon which I was going to make him open, which came a day later so I could have held on really! "Commando Dad: Advice for Raw Recruit" - he's not military but he likes that sort of thing and the book looks very light hearted and easy reading for him... Him and me both have a lot to learn!

Ah that was a lovely idea! Hilarious that it wouldn't stay in any longer though 😂😂 I'm sure I'll end up slipping up at some point. He keeps asking why I'm extra happy today 😬😬

I told a close friend today, I just needed someone who can relate to talk to. That will be it till the early scan though all being well.

Yes he knows and is very excited 😊

I really want to tell my mum on Mothers day but hubby is enjoying it being a secret so I have 5 days to convince him otherwise haha.

I had my first symptom today at 5+1! I felt nauseous for 2hours haha. How are you feeling?

Yes she was thrilled, she has 2 little ones and had a few pregnancy struggles so I know I can go to her if needed. I'd love to tell my Mum but that would mean probably having to tell my partners parents also and everyone in the city would know by a day later 🤦🏼‍♀️.

Thankfully no nausea yet, I've had a couple of bad days for fatigue and that's about it apart from the sore boobs still.

I don't know how to count myself, 5+4 from last period but I've read to bring it back a week due to the late ovulation 🙄. So I'm possibly only 4+4.

Aww that's good then. Glad you have a mini support network in the early days. HA! I can imagine how that would plan out haha.

I'm the same. They say from the date of your last period is how they work out when you can book for your 12 weeks scan but then its likely they will put us back a week due to late ovulation. Typical

Did you tell him in any kind of way? Wish I'd done something more fun now!

I phoned the maternity unit today to check they've received my details as it's been a week, should have an appointment booked by next week 🤞🏼 guessing for early April.

Haha I don't want a week taken away from me 🙈 this early anxious stage is going slower than tww!

Not that fun.. I just printed some photos of random things and put a picture of the test in there. Said to him I got some photos developed have a look and let me know if you want me to send any to your mum (she lives far away) his face was so funny when he found that one lol.

Ooh exciting! Is that for booking in? I registered yesterday and it says they will contact me in 10days so fingers crossed they do 😊 although I would rather my booking in and blood tests during Easter hols so I don't have to tell work yet 😊

How've you been feeling the last few days? No new symptoms for me I just seem to want to go to bed earlier and earlier every night though feel so tired!

No appointment booked yet still, hoping they call early next week. 2 weeks tomorrow till early private scan 💜.

Still keep doing a cheap test every few days to keep it feeling real 😂

I'm okay actually. Really tired by the end of the day but don't really have anything else.

Hopefully not long till they contact you, how far are you now? I havent been contacted either.

We have looked into early scans but can't seem to find one in the week I would like so looks like we won't be doing one xx

I spoke to soon this morning, had first experience or nausea... hit me like a ton of bricks had to lie back in bed and not move for an hour 🤦🏼‍♀️.

I'd like to say 6+1 but I think just 5+1 with late O.

I think there's only one place that does it near where I live, they could only offer me 1 choice of day/time so must have been lucky. You could possibly leave number if they get any cancellations 🙂.

Oh no! How do you feel now? I think I'm 3 days behind you with the same 7day adjustment possibly being made at 12week scan due to late O.

Yes think thats what I'll do. We have 4 near us (within 30mins) all fully booked so I imagine maternity may be busy 😂😂

All the late lockdown babies near you 😂. Mines on a Sunday so I'm guessing they are busy also if that's the only slot!
To be honest I feel absolutely fine now, just came in a wave... have read it can usually start around 5 week mark.

I got pregnant in a cycle where I must have ovulated day 38!!!

Hi all,

I came off the pill in November and fell pregnant that month. We found out in January we had, had a mmc. I have MVA surgical procedure early Feb and 2 weeks later got a call to say I had, had a partial molar pregnancy.

I used to have a 28 day cycle but this month has been 31. I have been using clear blue ovulation sticks and on cycle day 20. I just keep getting flashing smiley faces!! I am worried I haven't ovulated this month? Any help/ advice please xxx

@glow92 @Fireplacedreamer AF never did come but somehow got my BFP! I must have ovulated on day 40-something! Seems to be very very early days 🤞🏼

@Busybee32 just keep persisting with peeing on the sticks, I have had flashing smilies for a week and nearly given up before getting a solid!
