Why is ovulation late?

Hi all.

Is there a reason ovulation would be late??

I'm a typical 28day cycle with ovulation on day 13 or 14. Today is day 16 and no ovulation flagged on clear blue yet.is there a reason for this? Should we continue to DTD?

2 days outside of 'normal' but I'll hope it's just a one-off still settling down from the pill still.

I'm still not ovulating 🤦‍♀️ soo annoying. I thought I would as CM had started to increase yesterday but no luck again!

I'm sorry, it's so frustrating isn't it... I've now shifted into the next worry phase of am I actually ovulating or had I just had an LH surge 🤦🏼‍♀️, had a few twitches on my right side and have very mild tenderness on my boobs but nowhere near as obvious as last cycle.
I never notice much CM (something else I worry about), but did have a really small amount from Sunday which would be 5/6 days prior if O is yesterday/today.

Did you buy any more OPK's in the end?

@glow92 brought more as I do really want to know if I am ovulating or not.

Still nothing today though.. cd21 today and no sign at all.

I'm sorry 😞, I definitely scrap what I said a few days ago and carry on testing... I never would have guess mind would be at day 23 when my full cycle was only two days more than that last month.
Been practicing the last two mornings with my new thermometer!

And frantically googling tww temperature trends 🙈

@glow92 I'm currently using you as my hope 😂 day 23 🤞🤞 my CM is increasing day by day so I am hopefully but seriously impatient now 🤦‍♀️

Oh how is that going? Do you have to do it immediately when you wake up?

Yes I just put it on top of my phone on my bedside table so I can't miss it in the morning, got one that 'soft' beeps so it won't annoy my partner and that only takes 90secs... some can take a few minutes.

Is this the only funny cycle you've had? How long have you been off contraception if you don't mind me asking?

@glow92 been off the pill for a year but I didn't come off as we were TTC. I was unwell and ended up in hospital for 8 weeks for forgot to take it so I just didn't take it again. Track periods since May but didn't start TTC until November. Since May they have always been 28day cycles except for last month is was 32 days which was weird.

Ooh that sounds good. Where did you get it from?

We just started late last year but until then I'd had no cycle to track for 8 years, can't remember ever taking notice of cycle lengths before that but I was just a teenager then. Wish I'd come off sooner just to actually understand what my body does, I've learnt so much the last few months It's embarrassing I got to this age and knew next to nothing about a cycle!

Just from Amazon, the easy@home one I think it was £13.... there are some for cheaper.

Really confusing to be so regular for so long, do you think it could be down to the seven seas? Hopefully it will regulate if so.

@glow92 its funny isn't it as teenagers most go straight onto the pill and we never know really what our bodies do. It's incredible really. I was the same. On pill forever before.

I'm assuming it's down to seven seas but do want to stick with it for now. We were going to attempt the SMEP this month but hubby is getting tired now 😂

Yeah I think the benefits of taking it will be worth any delay now. I think it was B6 that contributed to delaying mine but I started taking it again yesterday as it's supposed to support luteal phase - I'll just stop again once AF shows, assuming she shows.

I think we've managed to hit SMEP without really realising looking back at my app, apart from the last time after doing 3 days and skipping a day - might write that one off tomorrow though 😂. I try and keep my partner in the dark about my cycles/tracking, if this is gonna take us a while I don't want him to start feeling the pressure.

@glow92 I think that is a good idea! I wish I hadn't over shared with hubby as he keeps asking me about ovulation each morning lol. Still no luck today though and CM is back to normal so not sure I'm going to ovulate this month. Still relying on your 23 day ovulation though ha!

He's definitely on the same page about starting a family but I honestly don't think he knows the first thing about a cycle he's too chilled to ask many questions bless him! A good thing now but maybe not if the journey isn't going to be as easy as I once thought.
I'm so keen for it to happen for you and I hope for both our sakes this weird cycle is a one-off.

8DPO now but looking back I could potentially be 9, and 9 was the dreaded dah last cycle when AF showed so I'm really on edge right now! Had some very mild cramping, twinges and fatigue along was a horrendous down-down on Thurs but that could just be me being me. My boobs have remained a tiny bit tender ever since ovulation but really not that noticeable.

Was just about to make a post about late ovulation then spotted this one!

I had peak ovulation on day 22 this month, so AF was due only 8 days later and still hasn't come. Now 5 days late and on cycle day 35 (normal cycle is 28 days).

Took a clear blue digital this morning and BFN!

Feel like I need to wait another few days and wait and see if AF finally shows up or take another test then?

Anyone else had anything like this and got a BFP?!

@LunaL0veg00d if your ovulation is delayed then typically AF will be also. How many days do you usually get between O and AF? I say 'typically' as I'm certainly not qualified to give advice!

@glow92 fingers crossed this phase hope out longer for you! All the symptoms sound positive 🤞 I am now 5dpo and zero symptoms plus only 1 due before AF was due based on my previous cycle but ovulation was sooo late so still have 9 days really.

@LunaL0veg00d welcome to the late ovulation club 😂 I used to ovulate on day 14 and it was day 23 this month! I am waiting until I am 14 days from ovulation to test, well I will try 😂😂

@glow92 it varies, I've only been tracking for 3 months. 1st month peak ovulation was day 19 and AF came 11 days later. Last month AF came 5 days early so only a week after a peak ovulation, but I had had a smear test the day before so put it down to that causing disruption. Tuesday will be 2 weeks from peak ovulation. No matter what I always have a 28 day cycle usually, which is why I'm thrown off this month. This is so stressful!

@Fireplacedreamer sorry another typo in my message earlier, meant to say I had a massive down-day on Thursday. Went to bed at 8pm and just cried 🙈. I'm been cranking a little this morning also I just feel like AF is gonna show any second.

@LunaL0veg00d I see, I too have no solid days to go off really, cycle was only 25 days last month and I'm already day 31 this time and just 8 or 9 DPO. I have read others say that CB digitals aren't overly sensitive so you definitely could still be in.
