Increasing Resting Heart rate on Fitbit before a BFP??

Dixie1488 · 13/02/2021 22:25

Hi Ladies!

I have noticed my resting heart rate has increased over the past week. Usually my resting heart rate is anywhere between 55-59 on average but today it is 64. I was sat on the sofa for the last hour and it was 84! I am currently 9DPO.

Has anyone else had an increase in heart rate and has a BFP? Or know anything about it? It seems some other people have posted online about this but I would love to know more! 😊

I could just be overthinking it and looking into things that mean nothing 😂

Thanks in advance 😊

There's loads of threads on this

This is the latest

My RHR rising was the first sign I was pregnant

Dixie1488 · 14/02/2021 10:09

Thankyou @Alicespring. I have tried reading the thread but because it carried on from lots of previous ones the topic moved on :) It’s quite hard to find the info. Thankyou though, I appreciate the reply 😊

When did you notice your RHR start to increase if you don’t mind me asking?

Hey @Dixie1488 I commented on the RHR post last night because the same thing happened to me! I’m currently 9DPO and my RHR has increased yesterday by 2bpm and by another today! It never happens!
The lady who commented back to me on the other post said there was correlation between increase in RHR and bfp so fingers crossed!!
How many dpo are you? X

Sorry I’ve just re read your post! You’re the same as me 9DPO. Hopefully this is a good sign for us both! When you testing? I’m holding out till next Friday

Dixie1488 · 14/02/2021 10:40

Hey @NW2021 That’s so interesting! I hope so 😊 I’m 10DPO today and trying my best not to test yet 🙈 I think I will try to wait until Tuesday-12DPO (unless AF shows up early). My cycles vary... last month it was 30 days, month before 37... so who knows! 😂

I’ve attached my 30 day HR data. I went through previous months data and noticed my HR did the same thing in December last year when we weren’t TTC, so not sure if my body just does this sometimes 🤷‍♀️

If it never happens to you though this could be a good sign! 😊

@Dixie1488 I did the same looking back on Dec but mine was all over the place I think maybe because I was drinking, lack of sleep, exercise none existent & we didn’t Ttc that month.
But comparing to Jan my RHR normally dips in the lead up to AF not increase so it is a bit strange. But then I haven’t done any exercise since Weds so not sure if that has something to do with it 🤷🏼‍♀️

12dpo sounds like a good plan. I’m going to try hold out till end of next week just so I’m closer to when AF is due.
Good luck! Let us know how you get on 🤍🥰🤞🏻 X

Dixie1488 · 14/02/2021 10:58

@NW2021 Oh really? I didn’t think of it like that but could make sense! 😬 I was the same in December haha.

My Jan RHR did not increase before AF either.

This morning I was led in bed for an hour (lazy Sunday) and my RHR was 80... so unusual for me!

Thanks good luck to you 💕 I will do, you too! X

@Dixie1488

I know what you mean, I started that thread off back in Jan 2020 and fell away from it and catching up was a nightmare 😂

It started rising about 5/6/7 dpo which was normal for me then plateaued at around 8dpo for a few days then did a huge jump. I'll attach it for you

I had a high resting HR in the early days/weeks of pregnancy.

Alicespring · 14/02/2021 11:10

Sorry should also say I got my bfp on 13dpo. I took my fitbit off as soon as I got it as previously my RHR dropping after I had got a bfp signalled a miscarriage was coming and I didn't want to stress myself out 😂.
I put it back on about 6/7 weeks and my RHR was back down to pre pregnancy levels but turne out that's normal for a lot of people as your heart is getting used to pumping all the extra blood. I'm 17 weeks now and my heart rate has rocketed again and is 77bpm which is almost 20bpm more than my best heart rate pre pregnancy. I definitely think there's something to the theory but at the same time some people I've seen haven't had big rises initially and still been pregnant!

Dixie1488 · 14/02/2021 11:19

@Alicespring It is so hard isn’t it! I go through page after page and still can’t quite get it haha.

That’s really interesting! I’m hoping mine is an early sign🤞 This morning my average RHR has gone up another 2bpm (66) which is the highest since I got my Fitbit 2 years ago.

@bookish83 Did you? That’s great to know 😊 Do you know how many DPO when you noticed it increasing?

NW2021 · 14/02/2021 11:24

@Alicespring that’s really interesting thank you! I hope it’s a good sign for us x

Alicespring · 14/02/2021 11:29

Fingers crossed for you guys 😊

Dixie1488 · 14/02/2021 11:35

@Alicespring sorry I didn’t see your last post. Thankyou, thats been really helpful to know 😊 I guess all we can do is what and see!

@Dixie1488 congratulations!!
I happened on this thread as I’m experiencing the same thing. Only 5dpo but I’ve started to check my RHR daily to see if there is a pattern.
And reading down this thread to land on your happy news is very exciting! And encouraging!
Wishing you a happy and healthy pregnancy 🥰

Out of interest, what has your RHR been the last couple of days? What dpo are you now?

NW2021 · 16/02/2021 09:38

@Dixie1488 that’s amazing!!! Congratulations 🥰🎉 that’s such strong lines for 12dpo as well!! Amazing!

I’m loosing hope slightly. My RHR has stayed the same since I posted so not sure if it’s my month 🤷🏼‍♀️
Did your RHR carry on increasing?

Dixie1488 · 16/02/2021 09:56

Thankyou girls! I am still in shock, I don't know how to feel right now.

@NW2021 I know, I can't believe it is so dark! Mine continued to increase and then it dropped today. I've attached the photos. I saw on other forums that some peoples RHR plateaued before a BFP, so you just don't know!

@cat8986 Thankyou! Have a look at my graphs. I have attached last month and this month to compare 😊. My RHR increased steadily until yesterday and dropped 1bpm this morning. I am 12DPO, so wasn't expecting a BFP really 🙈

Congratulations OP.
What Fitbit do you have that records this data in such a detailed manner? I need to get a new one.

Dixie1488 · 16/02/2021 10:42

Thankyou @WrongendoftheSTIX . I have a Fitbit Versa 2. I recommend it 😊

@Dixie1488

Yay massive congrats! Defo something in the HR theory.

NW2021 · 16/02/2021 12:27

@Dixie1488 Oo I hope you’re right!! I’ve just gone back on to it and it’s creeped up another bmp from this morning! Last month around this time (3 days before af due) it was around 56/57 so I really hope this is a good sign!
