Hi ladies anyone want to join me in a thread to chat about ttc this month? I’m currently on CD2.
A bit about me.

I’m 28 and TTC baby number 1. We’ve been trying for a year and a half now, I had 4 recurrent miscarriages in 2020 so hoping the next will stick. I’ve been given new medication to try next time.

Welcome @TwiceLemonDifficult !
Well done for making it so far. It's just horrible isn't it but good news you have the doctors helping you now.
Did you get an ultrasound or anything to decide when you had IUI?
Everything crossed for you.
My husband has little empathy with me. Don't think he's noticed I'm a mess today. He says he doesn't think we should do any tests but he did say he would try a bit harder next time.
I think I might try to get a doc appt on Monday to see if they have any concerns with my random, early AF.

CycloGoose · 13/02/2021 13:00

@kaylsd Yeah I don't think any need to change anything up that's working for you. There's enough to contend with!

My LP hasn't been short before so I haven't looked into it. I take ubiquinol which I hoped would help to thicken my lining. Hey ho. Another AF another go!

TwiceLemonDifficult · 13/02/2021 13:17

@CycloGoose Thank you! We have gone for natural cycle IUI for the the first instance so no ultrasound, just opk. I've never stared at the shades of purple so hard in my life. We had all the regular tests beforehand and all looked good so doctor is very hopeful at our chances (though still only 25%).

I think it's definitely worth chatting to the doctor because at least you can get your basic blood tests done to confirm ovulation and sperm count, especially if you're worried. Though if it helps I swear my uterus can tell when I'm thinking about babies. I have always had super regular periods but on the few occasions when it seemed we had a chance of conception of get a random early or later period (3-4 days off my usual 28). I guess stress affects hormones a lot more than we realize and that's why AF would always appear once I took a test and confirmed a BFN.

CycloGoose · 13/02/2021 13:40

@TwiceLemonDifficult oh so much good luck!

I don't know if we can get any testing yet on the NHS.

You are probably right. Maybe I need to download the Calms app or something. I didn't feel like I was stressed either but... Oh, I don't know. Blarghhhh

Slinks8113 · 13/02/2021 13:50

Hi ladies, do you mind if I join in?
I'm 33 and ttc baby #1. We fell pregnant last October after trying for over a year but sadly ended in mmc in December. This is my third cycle since the mmc and they've been a bit all over the place.
Started temping for the first time and didn't ovulate in December but did in January but period came early so was a 9 day lp.
In a somewhat desperate attempt I think, I'm giving Angus cactus a go and also cb ovulation tests as temping is stressing me out and disturbing my sleep! As soon as I get close to potential ovulation I'm waking two hours earlier than normal and then throwing my temps 🙈
I'm CD5 at the moment so a little behind some of you :) x

lucea87 · 13/02/2021 14:26

Just checking in that everyone is ok. I'm now CD39. Still no AF I've been cramping for 2/3 days but cm is clear/white. I have no idea what's going on but I'm scared to rest too early.

@Slinks8113 so sorry to hear that, but lots of luck moving forward. Xx

Dyinghouseplant · 13/02/2021 14:44

That sounds promising @lucea87
I'm only CD7 @Slinks8113 so not too far ahead of you. Good luck.

lucea87 · 13/02/2021 14:53

If i hadn't have flashing smileys from CD20 to CD28 with no static smiley I would be excited and be testing. I did think I had ovulated CD23 as I forgot to do the test that morning & did it later on so was likely a diluted result so it didn't pick up the peak, but even so I should have come on by now as that's 16 days ago. The cramping feels like AF, I'm really surprised I've had no bleed. I'm going to hold out until Monday the do a FRER if no sign of AF.

CeeJay1987 · 13/02/2021 14:54

@lucea87 that’s sounds promising!! 😊 when would you normally test? xx

StartLeo · 13/02/2021 14:54

I am in! Eager to start my family at 34. February was our first month ttc, now I'm waiting to see if I conceived

BWaiting · 13/02/2021 15:31

@CycloGoose @@kaylsd thanks for the birthday wishes for him 😊
I love a bit of DIY too, but I have to be in the mood for it and usually works better when me and hubby aren't bickering!
It just needed a coat of pain and the grout in the tiles refreshing so nothing too crazy.
I'm running out of rooms in the house to do something to, we did a lot in the first lockdown.
@CycloGoose how long have you been TTC if you don't mind me asking? Do you think you'll consider the home fertility tests? It's something I've thought about but if I'm honest, the thought of the outcome scares me.

lucea87 · 13/02/2021 15:40

This is my first cycle. I was expecting AF on 9th as my cycle is usually 33/34 days.

princesscallie · 13/02/2021 16:00

Ladies can I join? We are ttc #3. This is our first month trying after deciding midcycle last month. My cycle is usually very regular at around 28 to 30 days. However January was slightly shorter at 27 days. I'm using clear blue digital ovulation predictor and am now on cycle day 16 and nothing. So not sure what is going on. I am 36 now and have a 7 and 5 year old. Never used anything the last 2 times and it took around 4 months to get pregnant after I came off the pill. However I haven't been on contraception for over 2 years now. So not sure what is going on.

princesscallie · 13/02/2021 16:05

That definitely sounds promising. How long is your cycle usually?

kaylsd · 13/02/2021 17:09

@TwiceLemonDifficult

Hello everyone. I'm finally joining in after weeks of lurking. I'm 35 (36 in 10 days) and trying for baby #1.

We've got some health issues that make conceiving naturally rather difficult and so after a lot of getting nowhere I finally had my first IUI on Wednesday. I think that makes me about 3DPO. I'm trying not to obsess and constantly think about it but reading everyone else's stories here somehow makes me feel a lot calmer about it all even if I'm still obsessing. At least I'm not alone!

The nurses told me I should wait til the 24th and do a non-digital clear blue test but am tempted to try a FRER on my birthday (23rd). Could be the biggest downer ever though. Confused

Anyway thank you all for sharing your similar journeys and stresses, you've helped me a lot so far without evening knowing it. Smile

Hey there sweetheart! Sorry for the delay in response been out working, welcome to the group and the horrible long road of a TWW! I hope your journeys experience with IUI ends with a positive outcome for you, how did you find the procedure I hope it was a smooth process for you, but until we know the end result your welcome to symptom Spot, pass time chatting with us all, knowing we are all part of the same journey with one and another 🤞🏻❤️🌈

Hey there darling welcome to the group! I'm also trying for first baby, 6 month in and no luck as of yet however we've not had the easiest journey with our TTC down to secondary illness with covid for me and my hub & last month he had food poisoning in my FW 🙈 how have you found Angus cactus? I've heard mixed reviews with it some people have found it amazing and shortened long cycles and lengthens the LP but I've heard some people say it delays them and sent their cycle wappy?🙈

Even the odd spruce up makes a world of a difference! When I first moved in my home I was hooked on looking on the DIY on a budget group on Facebook, I couldn't convince my husband to fablon my kitchen worktops but he let me paint them grey with Wilco paint and they look ace! Have you seen those grout pens you can get if you want to change colour of your tile lines? I'm tempted to do the black tile pen with my white grout n white tiles within my kitchen 🤔

Hey there darling welcome to the group! Have you got alternative OPK testing kits than just the clear blue? Have you had regular cycles within the 2 years of stopping birth control pill? It's annoying how our cycles what we think is our normal than one random month shoves everything you thought you knew out of the window then like eh what was all that about 🧐😂😂😂 good luck with your journey anyway sweet pea hopefully you get your positive soon so then you can baby dance the night away!

Have you had an anovulatory cycle before? This happened to me following sickness where my cycle never gained an actual peak just slight LH increases and it turns out my body was gearing up to ovulate just never did, that cycle lasted 77 days, was going out of my mindddd 🙈 however I'm hoping you either get your BFP or your AF! I contacted my gp when I was late with my cycle and they were so dismissive just told me to contact them if I didn't come on within 3 month, how helpful 🙄🙄
CycloGoose · 13/02/2021 17:41

Welcome @princesscallie @Slinks8113 and @StartLeo and very sorry to hear of your loss Slinks. I am doing CB for same reason (it also gets in the way of early morning BD!) but I did hear about an armband you can wear that's supposed to be accurate - takes your lowest temp throughout the night. I'm scared of the sound of that cactus stuff.

I'm now CD1 after a frustratingly early AF. It's a really weird one so far and a lot more crampy than normal. So disheartening as I had extra cm which I don't normally have post ovulation.

@lucea87 I would be poas like a mad woman if I were you! Let us know either way, won't you? I envy your test willpower.

@BWaiting yes! Know what you mean about the mood. I managed to do most of our bathroom in lockdown 1 - literally stripped back to a shell, reorganised the plumbing, re-floored, re-plastered, tiled - the works but it was definitely my project. Hubs got on with various other jobs at the same time and was only called in if I couldn't saw through copper pipe. Haha.

Also, been TTC for 6 months which isn't really that long - just felt like a milestone. Double checked and I'm actually just starting cycle 6 because my first cycle after the pill lasted forever. I'm just scared, at 34 I feel time ticking very loudly especially as we'd like at least 2 ideally. I don't know about the tests. I might ask doc what she thinks - I just would rather know if there's something wrong. If there was nothing obvious, I think I could relax into it a bit more just knowing it's possible.

Going to go all in this month again. I'm finally back to a healthy BMI so hoping that might give me the edge! I wish hubby would drink less though. I'm worried about his swimmers!

TwiceLemonDifficult · 13/02/2021 17:45

Thank you @kaylsd! The IUI procedure was okay, a bit uncomfortable but not awful process if all had gone normally. Unfortunately I went into cervical shock from the catheter going through so I went all faint, hot and cold and crazy blood pressure. But all fine after 30mins of monitoring and the nurses were super lovely, held my hand and even made me some hot chocolate.

TwiceLemonDifficult · 13/02/2021 17:50

All this DIY talk is very inspiring. Am now thinking there must be some bits of the house that could do with a spruce up. Though I don't think I have the confidence for the full revamp like yours @CycloGoose - the most I've ever done is a bit of painting and pressurising the boiler. But I really need something to focus on that isn't baking or wondering if every twinge in my torso is a symptom! Grin

CycloGoose · 13/02/2021 17:51

That's horrible from your GP @kaylsd ! Poor you, that's hard. I had long cycle after pill and they said the same thing but that had a clear reason. I suppose your body was using all its fuel to get you well. Thank goodness you are better now.

Just thinking I had this weird pityriasis rosea rash thing which may have disrupted my cycle. Never straight forward is it!

Hope you have had a good day at work. We went out to walk a dog (on borrow my doggy) and now in a sleeping bag trying to get warm again!!

Talking about DIY, any of you watching the Interior Design Masters? I love it.

My husband is incredibly cautious with money but that's made me much more creative! I designed a sofa, which he built for me over Christmas (I was in charge of salvaging parts of the old sofa for re-use). I'm in love with it. I definitely would have tried the fablon! Glad the paint looks good!

CycloGoose · 13/02/2021 17:59

Oh my goodness @twiceLemonDifficult that sounds very, very stressful! My heart goes out to you. I've just been reading about it and sounds more intrusive than the turkey baster I was imagining!

Pressuring boiler is 100% husband's job though bleeding radiators is mine. Funny how it works out! What you thinking of doing? Decoupaging drawer fronts or changing handles can be therapeutic!

Slinks8113 · 13/02/2021 18:08

Thanks ladies - hoping this month will be a little less stressful with CB :)
@kaylsd it's my first cycle taking it so will see how I get on. I'm planning to only take it until ovulation is confirmed and then stop. X
