First month TTC

Hi ladies,

I’m new to this and would really appreciate your help. This is my first month TTC. I’m currently on CD4 so still middle of my period. Just wondering what helped you all conceive in your first month of trying and any tips you have. I have clearblue OPK ready and have been tracking my cycles for a which vary from 27-34 day cycles with 2 random 45 day cycles one of them being my last cycle.

Anyone else TTC this month?

@RadDarwazeh I told myself to hold out until AF but I'm not sure I'm going to be able to 😬 we'll see! Def not before 10DPO as a potential wasted test as so early.

I have First Response ready and waiting as I've read they're best and they say red dye is good?! Heard CB and the blue dye are more ambiguous with evap lines but I dunno!

@Chall139 no way! Is this your longest cycle? Have you tried doing any opk’s to see if you’re ovulating late?

I’m on CD10 and have started my opk’s so far they’re all negative but I’m getting loads of CM which is a good sign leading up to ovulation. My mom also told me that her friend had a dream that I was pregnant with a girl so that’s very weird as no one really knows I’m trying.

How’s everyone else getting on?

I’m going to try not to test until my AF is due. (30th Jan).

@Annabelle0852 thanks for the info, I've heard the red or pink ones are better as the dye is more visible ? It's tempting to test early but hopefully this will help: if you test early you'll inevitably be lining the pockets of the manufacturers as you'll be buying more tests anyway to take closer to your AF date. So. Gonna just wait till the day I'm expecting AF. Luckily I'm really regular

@RadDarwazeh testing on the 15th for me, AF due date. I was going to do some of the cheap strips and if they're in agreement, hotfoot it to tesco and get a digital one to present to Mr Pineapple. Another week to go!

@Pixiedust018 yeah the longest ever, usually they are 32 days! But I'm getting some signs being tired, resting heart rate going up, hormonal etc.

That's exciting! Hopefully not long for you!!

@RadDarwazeh my next AF is predicted for 28th so I’ll definitely hold off until then. I’m going to get some frer closer to the time. I do have some cheapies that came in the same pack as my opks so imagine I’ll use them too :)

Hope you’re all doing ok! Sorry to but in here...

So I brought some ovulation tests today, and my ‘clue’ app predicts I’m ovulating this week, and today and tomorrow are my peak days or “most fertile window’ but I’ve had spotting for the past couple of days and today I’ve have more light bleeding and a couple of clots. (I say bleeding, it’s brown discharge- sorry TMI)

So no idea when to do these tests as I’m currently “bleeding” or whatever it is so can’t be ovulating?! So don’t want to waste a test as they’re quite expensive 🙄😳

Also, this is like my 5th week since I took my last pill so not sure if that’s normal 🤷🏻‍♀️

@Delilah221 hi have you had your withdrawal bleed since stopping your pill?

I stopped my pill and had brown discharge about 3 weeks after stopping it and when I did an ovulation test a couple of days after the discharge I got a positive ovulation test so it could be that.

@Chall139 oh I really hope it shows soon for you.

Have you done anymore pregnant tests?

Our bodies are so unpredictable.

@Pixiedust018 - so I took my last pill on the 8th of Dec, then had bad cramps on Xmas day, then a bleed on Boxing Day. That only lasted the day. So that was 2 weeks after stopping. Then had a week of nothing, then started spotting (brown-only when I wipe) 2 days ago, but today it’s got heavier, and needing a pad. But it’s still brown 🤷🏻‍♀️

Sorry again for the ramble, but so bloody confused with it all. Maybe I’ll take an ovulation test tomorrow.

Just feels pointless as can’t DTD while still spotting/light discharge ☹️☹️

@Delilah221 it is very frustrating. Maybe try an ovulation test and see what happens.

Might be your withdrawal bleed from your pill.

@Pixiedust018 - It is, but as long as I know it’s just my body getting back to some normality that puts me at ease 😬

Yes that’s what I’m thinking! Thanks for the response, I’ll do an ovulation test tomorrow and see how that goes!

@Pixiedust018 no I haven't done anymore pregnancy tests but I might go out and buy some tomorrow as it's been a week since my BFN but my pee was quite diluted so might do another one to be sure.

I've felt absolutely exhausted today and spent most of the day in bed. Was symptom spotting 😂.

@Delilah221 I had the same! I finished the pill on 17th dec, withdrawal bleed as usual 21st of December for 4 days. Then 3 days ago started spotting brown and turned into a full blown period. I'm just hoping I'll ovulate normally this month. I did OPKS last week which showed high and I had EWCM but don't think I actually ovulated. So frustrating! All that BD for nothing 😂

@Rmd123 - as frustrating as it is, I’m so relieved to hear others experience the same! I feel like I’m really worrying myself over it!

Well i started spotting a couple days ago and it’s starting to feel more like a proper period Just brown! 😳 that’s what worries me!

Although can’t remember what a proper period is for me as I’ve been on contraception with no period at all for 10yrs!

I’m going to do a ovulation test tomorrow!

@Delilah221 yeah I saw someone else on thread in the same boat so felt better! My ClearBlue app is telling me to do one tmo too, I'm gonna do one a day until I get 'high' then I'll do 2/3 so I don't miss peak. Let me know how u get on!

@Chall139 yeah could’ve been too early to test last week. Ahh so excited for you. Hope you get a BFP! Keep us updated.

@Pixiedust018 just got some sporting this evening so hopefully AF is on her way 🤞 never been so excited to see her 😂😂😂

11DPO today and 3 BFNs :(

Also feel down and PMS-y so not hopeful but will probably keep testing til AF comes on Wed because I can't not.

How are we a this morning? Can I just say I'm really thankful for you girls and that this is an active chat. I love checking in daily and having a good chinwag haha! I'm gonna order some first response tests from Amazon today. They're on offer right now I think.

@RadDarwazeh morning! My AF is currently leaving the building and ClearBlue app is telling me to start OPKS again today, probably to figure out when in my cycle I OV. How are you?
