sorry to hear that abbevillemum and sorry to see you go. it's a good mantra, and has worked for many ladies that have left these threads and then come back to tell of bfps. best of luck

Shazza2002 · 25/10/2007 10:43

Sorry to see you go Abbevillemum

But I do agree about it becoming too much sometimes, I've been on here less than a month and I'm hooked.

Although you do give me hope, you were nearly my cycle buddy so just goes to show after CD36/37 TEW can still get cha, and she hasn't disappeared altogether which is my worry at the moment!

Good luck, and hoepfully you'll be back soon with some good news

Shazza2002 · 25/10/2007 10:45

Hope I haven't confused things. I am in the right place. I am TTC but not PG this month just waiting for AF.

But my thinking at the moment is No AF or BFP = No OV That's my worry

digitalgirl · 25/10/2007 11:08

Shazza - no AF + no BFP means EITHER late ov or no ov...meaning you could still ov.

Have you checked your cervix position? I found checking mine helped confirm whether or not I had ov'ed. I've also just started charting my temperature, which means you can track when you've ov'ed and when AF is due.

Shazza2002 · 25/10/2007 11:19

I have been working on the assumption that I haven't OV yet, DP seems to like that idea too

He's the one now pressuring me, saying I thought you said we had to do it every other day, wish I hadn't said that now!!

I think I need to try the cervix position thingy a bit more. TMI Alert I did try it around CD29/30 when AF hadn't arrived and it was really low and soft. Then I checked again on CD34 and it was more firm. So need to find out what that all means.

I am going to get a thermometor today. I think somebody on here recommended a boots one.

Thanks for the advice. I'm so glad I discovered MN, I think I would have gone insane by now.

sarahnh · 25/10/2007 11:59

hey, just checking in, i am in limbo at the moment after long cycle last month, only on cd20 today and not sure when i am going to test, after last month 36 days i guess i'm in for a long month but think i ovulated on cd13 so really not sure!!! hope everyone is happy today and those lunching enjoy!!!

Minnow1 · 25/10/2007 12:16

Sorry to see you go Abbevillemum but understand.

Please come back and tell us when you get your BFP

PennyBenjamin · 25/10/2007 12:21

Really sorry to hear about AF abbeville. I definitely feel like you do at the moment. Haven't posted for ages, as it doesn't ever feel like I have anything to say. The excitement of the first few months TTC has given way to a sense of gloomy inevitability. I am now CD26 of a 28 day cycle, and with absolutely no symptoms at all, I'm resigned to AF arriving over the weekend.

How does everyone keep so positive? I'm just haunted by all those articles I've read over the years about "leaving it too late", "I had 6 cycles of IVF", "I had to adopt from China", etc.

Maybe I should head over to the Hut of Doom.

artichokes · 25/10/2007 12:39

Sorry to hear about AF Abbeville. I know where you are coming from about TTC becoming an unhealthy obsession. I am only on cycle 1 for number two and already I have peed on two sticks when I know it is too early. It is strange what this all does normally sane women.

GardenAngel4 · 25/10/2007 13:07

Take care abbeville Shazza I use the boots thermometer.

Shazza2002 · 25/10/2007 13:16

Thanks gardenangel.

I will get one on my way home.

What a miserable day today. Cold and windy.

Just want to be at home in bed

Excitable · 25/10/2007 13:54

MrsH I've been using abreviations from here in RL too - I thought that was just me. I also wrote LOL in an e-mail by accident the other day!

Shazza I'm sure it takes three months after the pill for your periods to get back to normal, not 6-12. That just doesn't sound right to me. Or maybe I just don't want to believe it. Anyway, you can still get pg even if your periods are all over the place, so that hardly even matters. They think that if you have regular periods they can calculate your due date more accurately, but I'm beginning to think that they just say that to make it your fault when the baby comes out on a date they didn't guess!

Poor Penny {{{hugs}}} you ARE feeling sad! It is hard to stay positive sometimes. I'm so used to just getting something when I want it, that this feels like I've been denied. I know I'll look back at this time and wonder what all the fuss was about, but right now, it seems to go on forever. Chin up, girl, and if AF comes, go to the supermarket and buy blue cheese and eggs and wine and eat yourself silly becuase this might still be the last month you can do that!

I'm on CD16 and I'm not very hopeful for this month. I'm pretty sure I ovulated on CD 11 again, judging by the IMMENSE PAIN that woke me up on Saturday. We BDed on Sunday, but haven't managed it since then because of our social life. Might get a chance today if I'm lucky, before I go out again. Chickened out of the early morning BDing and just had a really long sleepy cuddle instead. Well, it's very nice but it won't get us a baby, will it?!!

DH asked me last night what I want for Christmas and I said he didn't have to spend any money, just had to give me a baby. He looked a bit sceptical. He's preparing himself for a long wait.

Meglet · 25/10/2007 14:01

LOL Excitable and MrsH. I have to bite my toungue in RL and try not to use the abbreviations too. Maybe that should tell me I'm on here a little bit too much

PennyBenjamin · 25/10/2007 14:04

Thanks Excitable, that was really nice. I am usually a very optimistic person, but today I feel very low - to be honest, it is probably PMT. Eurgh.

I know what you mean about getting what you want. For me it's always been the case that at least I felt I had some control over things - the harder I studied, the better results I got. The harder I worked, the more promotions I got.

At the moment I feel like I'm doing everything I can (reading the books, taking temperatures, counting days, using ovulation kit, taking the vitamins, eating the right food, drinking the grapefruit juice) and makes no difference. It's just hard to accept that it's not something I can control.

07mumstheword · 25/10/2007 14:29

abbeville sorry TEW got you and to see you go, please come back and tell us when you get a BFP. Good luck.

PennyB You are almost my cycle buddy. I have a feeling AF on her way and will show her evil face at the weekend It's just not fair! Still it's not over for this month yet.

GG Oh no me & DG prefects? I can't take that sort of responsibility. No seriously was just trying to tidy the list up a bit hope no ones minds. Feel free to keep updating especially with BFP's!

pigleychez · 25/10/2007 14:29

Hi everyone

Excitable same here.. My DH asked what i wanted for xmas, he looked at me with a big on my face then said "apart from the obvious!"

Ive got this afternoon off work - Yippe!!!
Ive forgotten to delights of daytime tv!

CD20 of a 26 day cycle so not long till D day for me. Dont have any symptoms so not sure what to think. I did have a funny kinda sharp pain on the right hand side of my stomach. Could this be implantation? or am I clutching at straws?

Chez
x

PennyBenjamin · 25/10/2007 15:03

Ooo, I've never had a proper cycle buddy before! Speaking of which, haven't seen PenguinMum on here for a while. Hope she is OK.

Eurgh, I'm just waiting for today to be over now. And I know the thing which would make me feel so much better is a big glass of icy cold sauvignon blanc. Which I can't have.

~Stomps off to find chocolate~

07mumstheword · 25/10/2007 15:08

Pennyb Chocolate is always a good substitute. Not too long until bedtime hope you feel better after the chocolate or at least tomorrow.

spookykitty · 25/10/2007 15:11

hello everyone wow I go away for half a day and look what I miss, had my friend over with her two DSs, her DS2 is 13 weeks old and very cute if very unsettled. We were talking about ttc another one and all the things you are supposed to do with regards getting one sex or the other, we decided that we would husband swap, she has 4 boys (2 ID twins that died at birth) and I have 2 girls so we thought if we have a swap we will get a change but seriously as I've said before I so feel I will have another girl which is fine by me.

07MTW - yeas go change the list I'm sure the people at the bottom won't mind if they come back they can always add themselves back on and myabe some have had a BFP you never know.

DG - can't believe you are still at the bottom of the list thoguht you would be at the top or better on the graduate list

abbevillemum- so sorry the TEW cam acalling, sorry you feel you want to leave but understand, keep in touch though x

Gardenangel - totally admire your restraint probably because I have none, I so feel like peeing on something today and I'm only CD22 but so impatient

pennybenjamin - good to see you but sorry no BFP yet, it took me 9 months with DD1 a long 9 months they were too I used to cry every time I walked past Mothercare.

excitable - I don't know about everyone but for me ovulation pain is like a dull ache not sore, one one side only low down between my leg and groin but you never know you BDed at the right time and remember the little swimmers can last a good few days waiting for the egg, it only takes the once (I know that as well )

I agree would be much more civilised if you could just take a pill when you are ready to ttc and 9 months later you would have a baby!

Anyway mammoth post sorry better go DD2 has a lovely nappy to change and is ripping the Sky card out the box thing and about 60 wipes (typical DD2 behaviour then)

Screaminglips · 25/10/2007 15:13

im really hoping for a Summer baby here (as my DD is an Winter baby - Oct)...would it silly to buy those CB ovulation test sticks now???? as im expecting about 1st Nov is my fertile day...or r the sticks are for those who been ttc for weeks/months?? (had my coil taken Tues 16th and AF arrived on Fri 19th)

thanks

07mumstheword · 25/10/2007 15:18

Sreaminglips I know I'd really like a summer baby, makes the sleep deprevation easier to handle. OPK's are for anyone so go get yourself a pack I think it's generaly thought on here that Clearblue is the most reliable make. I think you have to start testing from 7-10 after AF arrives so may have missed for this month.

spookykitty · 25/10/2007 15:18

screaminglips - I have a July baby and a January baby and summer is the way to go, I had planned a March baby and got it but was snatched back from me another July baby will suit me just fine now.

Re: CBD opks a good idea I would say especially the first month you are ttc, on the box it tells you when to start testing by how long your cycle is mine was start from CD11 test every day until you get a then stop, I got a on CD15, also got two lines on an ebay cheapie this month on CD15. CBD give you 7 tests as well which is good if you have an erratic cycle BUT me and my cycle buddy last month used CBD opks, I got a she didn't, I got EWCM she didn't she was really worried about it, but you guessed it she got a BFP and I didn't!

bloodsuckingLOONEY · 25/10/2007 15:37
