Hi Cycle buddies shazza & DG I've just been working out my "ovulation calendar" on baby hope and I need to get at it by 8th Nov. I will of course allow DH a little pleasure before then or he really will think I am just using him! I've got to laugh at myself though because it appears to be an American calender so the month and day are the wrong way round, if I hadn't have spotted it now it would have ruined the whole month

DG I bought 3 cartons of grapefruit juice, does it matter which type? I ended up with Florida Pink. Should I start drinking it now or wait until nearer ovulation? Anymore tips on how to help the process around Ovulation day?

hello ladies, im a bit confused got another bfp on an opk today, temp hasnt risen yet but loads of ewcm, could my body have been giving me plenty of warning?

mtw I'm sure Florida Pink should be just fine! If you don't like it, just start drinking it in the days leading up to ov. It's supposed to make your CM more fertile-like. hmm, can't think of anything else to do. I've been eating brazil nuts, they're good for de-stressing (and good for DH's sperm so get him to eat some too).

lissie when was your last positive opk? if it was yesterday then it's possible to get it two days in a row, first day when you catch it on the way up, second day you catch it on the way down. If it was a while ago, it's possible to get more than one LH surge if the first one didn't result in an egg hatch. In any case, if you have lots of EWCM, then keep bd'ing until it all goes.

lissie The opk detect the LH Surge which is a bit before OV, whereas I think your temps rise during OV. That's why temps are only useful to get an idea of OV days if charted over a few cycles, as apposed to helping you detect OV in that month IYSWIM

Hi MTW I too have been working out what I think are my 'shagging days', although I'm hoping the CBFM will help me with that. Although AF has gone so the BDing will commence tonight. I know it's only CD5 but all that about the swimmers lasting for up to 5 days. May aswell get some up there, they can have a huge bloody party for all I care as long as they do the job

my first one was on mon (i think) but with a 1st response, this one was with a bog standard cheapie.

either way im happy, my luetal phase has been 6-8d since my last mc, im on CD16 out of 29d. this is good!

lissie - looks like you are v close ot ov, get to it girl!

screaminglips - that looks the same as my ebay cheapie opk did the second line was just a little bit lighter than the test line on the Thursday, EWCM since the Tuesday, Wed and Fridays lines were v faint. I must have ov-ed though

DG - glad AF is packing her bags, sorry you may have said but are you seeing your GP re your long cycles

good theory girls is BD every second day from CD10 to 20 BDing every day over your three most fertile days, knackering though

If I am finding it difficult to 'feel' my cervix, is that likely to mean it's high and hard? Which mean's ot OV?

Seems I have funny cervix, as it's high soft and open or low and hard

sk how's it feel to be pg? hope all's progressing well since yesterday's excitement. I'm going to the docs on monday to get a referral for a specialist, and have also got day21 blood test to go to.

shazza do you usually ov early? otherwise, might be easier to find the cervix if you squat and have a good root around. few days before ov it rises up and is soft and open. any other time, it's low hard and closed.

DG - don't feel any different TBH hopefully will in a few weeks when I feel like death, will be and at the same time, still hasn't sunk in yet. Am so glad you are having a referral, hopefully they will be able to sort something out for you, you had such a time of it last month wondering when you were Ov-ing, when AF was going to turn up.

well when i tested myself twice - one on mon & tues using the cheap opks sticks...there was a vvvvvvvvv faint line for ov positive and i did another one today (before i used the CB)..it was the same again vvvvvvvv faint line! so the cheap opks sticks are crap!!!

screaminglips - opks are supposed to have two lines at all times, one faint one and one strong test one this is because you always have LH in your wee thats what it's picking up, you get a surge of LH before you ovulate hence the second line getting thicker.

But I do agree I don't really rate the cheapie opks but I did get a darker line with mine around ov time, maybe you just haven't ov yet.
