sarahnh and anniemac - I am 10 cycles too, but TTC#1, so I'm getting a little at the waiting and worrying a bit. How come everyone else falls PG like THAT?! . anniemac - I know you had lots of things happen to you last month, so wishing you lts of luck and best wishes for this month and the gynae appointment

Big congrats chez. I think we are in the same boat so to speak. I had two days of peak fertility and I've been wondering if it could be twins, especially as I tested 5 days early and got my faint positive line and a stronger one a couple of days later.

Just got back from my MW appointment. My goodness how things have changed in 4 years. She's filled in all the blood test forms and physio referral(due to back problems stemming from my first pregnancy) and forms for both my 12 week and 20 week scans already. I did question that should I be unfortunate enough to have a MC then it would be a waste of time and she agreed, but this is the way it is done now. I've just got to make a decision as to whether or not I want the NT scan and blood tests done at my 12 week scan. Not too sure about this one but I am 38.
Got loads of pamphlets and Emmas Diary and she's made my booking in appt for 28th November. So far I've been really impressed about the information received and the level of care I have been given. I have read some real horror stories on other threads about the lack of interest from the NHS when someone has gotten pregnant and would like some reassurance and information, especially 1st time mums.
Sorry to those that have had the EW visit. Typical with Halloween just around the corner.

i know exactly what you mean anniemac, i am so grateful that i have dd1 and after my last cycle was cd36 i was all for giving up! but as soon as AF was over i began to thing about when i was would ovulate and hence the whole cycle is happening again!! i am desperately trying not to think about it because they say when you relax it will happen, but i'm a bit of an obsesive

I am a regular MN poster since 2005 my dd is 2.4 and we originally wanted a shorter gap which now will be at best 3yrs but whatever happens.
trying for so long is taking it's toll and I try not to get obsessive.
originally I thought that I would stop trying by december as I will be 39 in february and other stuff too.

I have also had 3 mc before dd so a bfp is a start of something including a lot of worry.

I realise that for those trying for 1st baby I sound spoiled sorry

i also got AF cramps at cd9 this month too!! Mine normally start about cd18 and just keep coming until AF arrives!! its a nightmare!!! oh well aleast we can be obsessive together

Those of you who get pre-menstrual cramps - heard evening primrose oil is good. I was surprised to read the ibuprofen (which I normally take for cramps)can mess up the cycle and prevent ovulation from occurring.

Bought clearblue ovulation sticks today. Expensive, but I thought I would treat myself and know that at least I am ovulating.

i read tho that if ttc you shouldnt take evening primrose oil in the 2ww

Hi everyone, has anyone had any experience of a long luteal phase? I had my smiley face on this months OPK on day 17 and am now on CD 33

I haven't tested yet as last month TEW got me on day 35 and the month before 44 despite having 4 months of 32 day cycles before that! I also didn't do an OPK the past two months so wasn't sure when i ovulated but this time i do.

Sorry for rambling but it's doing my head in and DH doesn't want us to test until the weekend!

AF came today . I am actually going to take myself off the list as DH and I are going to have to take a few months off TTC due to complicated work commitments. Hopefully I will be back in the new year. Good luck everybody .

Think nex month as well as recording cycle will invest in OVP kits.

choccie I think I might have a long luteal phase. I had a positive opk (smiley on CBD) on CD21, but nothing came 2 weeks later, so you can get false positives. I think i actually ov'ed on either CD34 or CD35 (had four days of EWCM for the first time that cycle) and then AF came after CD50. So it's 15 to 16 days. However i did have spotting on CD44-46, which could have been implantation of a dodgy egg .

If you hate BFNs then maybe wait to test 18dpo.
