@ACNass Have you ever heard of TempDrop? It's an armband you wear that automatically takes your BBT every night while you sleep so you don't have to get up at the same time every day or remember to temp. It's brilliant and has really made temping easy so I know exactly when I ovulate. I track using Fertility Friend.

Highfalutinlootin · 23/11/2020 23:28

ACNass · 23/11/2020 23:48

@Highfalutinlootin it's funny you posted this I was actually just looking into wearable devices today! I work day and night shifts as a nurse so I found my BBTs after my night shifts weren't very accurate. I think something like tempdrop might work better for me

Highfalutinlootin · 24/11/2020 00:05

It's expensive but worth it. I got the cheapest version with no warranty and it's been great. I've changed the battery once in 7 months. I am a huge evangelist for it.

ACNass · 24/11/2020 00:15

@Highfalutinlootin thank you for the recommendation! I'm working overnight tonight so I'm going to read into this. I use OPKs too and those have been pretty reliable for me as well

Sohe · 24/11/2020 07:04

8DPO today for me. Nothing exciting to report at the moment. Managing to hold off testing so far. Aiming to test either 30/11 or 1/12.

@ACNass I’m a nurse too, actually switching back to to nights again this week. I still temp orally but they aren’t as accurate as when I’m just on days. I can still normally see the temp shift in my charts though. Just the charts look a bit ‘un pretty’.I looked into the wearable temp things but ended up just continuing with what I’m doing. X

Hi everyone!
Has anybody had this issue with Premom? I keep getting different readings on my opks. These photos are all of the same test!

@bmeggar
I give up! I have had ovulation pains and a temp dip this am of 35.4 ( i was like .... am I alive ?! 🤣) but opk still negative!!! Stopped using the clear blues cos i wanted to save some and got some cheap ones from home bargains 🤔 i dont what is going on!
How are you doing? Xx

MgW1 · 24/11/2020 14:18

@Sunflowers81
Well it looks positive so go with that! I only use the app for temps xx

bmeggar · 24/11/2020 14:26

@MgW1 oh god that's so infuriating isn't it?! I thought I had ov pains too but then after OPKs didn't ever see a peak I now think perhaps not 🤷‍♀️ Who bloody knows though? Have you been dtd the last few days? If so then at least you've done all you can. Maybe do it another time for luck and then just gotta wait and see what happens! What time of day have you been doing opks? I'm not going to bother with them this month but will continue temping just to try and see a pattern and confirm ovulation. Keeping fingers crossed for you this cycle 🤞x

MgW1 · 24/11/2020 14:37

@bmeggar
Yes we have last night , will do one more time tomorrow - started this month too early and both fed up 🤣🤣 i need a week off after tomoz now. Just 1 sided cramps , not had any cramps since AF ended. I agree about the Opk. Read some people have a long surge and others can be other in a few hours. Last month i definately got a high reading but i dont think it was a peak. I tested at 2 pm. Fingers crossed for you too. Booked the acupuncture fortnight today , il see what its all about xx

buckingmad · 24/11/2020 14:43

@buckingmad congratulations! 😁 Give me some hope, I'm on cycle 13 and will be 12 months ttc on 21st December. Do you mind if I ask if you did anything different this cycle?

Dogmum13 · 24/11/2020 15:04

buckingmad · 24/11/2020 15:59

@Dogmum13 tbh we took the pressure off. I stopped doing OPK’s but did still monitor my temperature. We just did BD when we felt like it. I think until now we stopped BD too early, I think I ovulate later than my OPK’s would suggest.

Markygirl1995 · 24/11/2020 16:01

5 days late today, no period bfn. I'm sick of of waiting for AF. Caller drs no one able to speak with me late resort 111. Waiting for a call back now just want some peace of mind that I'm not falling apart. I want some hope I can still TTC for baby 2

bmeggar · 24/11/2020 16:08

@Markygirl1995 I'm sorry you're feeling this way and can totally relate - I was 5 days late this month and bfn. The reality is, it's highly unlikely it's anything bad going on. Most likely you ovulated a little later and now you're stressed and that's delaying AF. Please try not to worry. 111 won't be able to tell you anything just yet, and unless you're in chronic pain, there is nothing wrong from a medical perspective. I know it's hard but try not to worry. If your period still hasn't turned up after 7 days, get back in touch with docs and I'm sure they can do a blood test or scan or something, but try not not to stress as it's only going to make it more delayed. X

Dogmum13 · 24/11/2020 16:12

@buckingmad thanks 😊 we do have a habit of skipping a few days after Ov so going to try SMEP this month but will probably continue dtd every other day until AF shows up. I'm pretty positive I Ov when I get the peak cause I get bad Ov pains which are worst on the day I get the peak and gone the next day but worth a shot anyway. My partner only has one testicle so we may struggle to conceive naturally

ACNass · 24/11/2020 17:57

@buckingmad congratulations!! It's so nice to hear good news 😊😊

Highfalutinlootin · 24/11/2020 18:07

@buckingmad What wonderful news! Thrilled for you. How do you feel?

buckingmad · 24/11/2020 18:10

Thank you! A bit dazed to be honest! I don’t really feel like I’ve had many symptoms apart from really sore heavy boobs and also absolutely starving all of the time.

ACNass · 24/11/2020 18:12

@Sohe it's nice to meet a fellow nurse on here :) sometimes I worry the night shifts are impacting my fertility. So many of my friends at work have had issues getting pregnant and I can't help but wonder if the night shifts contributed. But of course there's also a lot of nurses who had no issues at all so I try to stay positive about that

Sohe · 24/11/2020 18:44

@ACNass. Yer I have been wondering the same things. It so difficult switching day to nights and back again. I think it’s the stress of the job aswell, and the long long long hours with no time to take breaks. For at least the last 12 months I can’t actually remember a shift where i haven’t felt completely overwhelmed at least once a day with the work load and acuity. Felt like crying literally daily. Iv actually moved wards recently thinking it would help but no it just the same shit different ward 🙈. Still I wouldn’t do it if I didn’t just love actual nursing (not paperwork, audits and computers)! 😂

My partner had covid a few weeks ago so I had to have two weeks off self isolating. Since I have gone back I’m making an real effort to drink a lot more on shift, go to the bathroom when I need it rather then holding it for hours on end, actually taking my breaks, and reminding the next shift that it’s 24 hour care so please don’t be arsey with me if I haven’t had chance to dip a urine sample. Hopefully that stuff will help and a BFP will be round the corner x

bmeggar · 24/11/2020 19:47

@buckingmad congratulations!!! Sorry, completely missed this earlier. Amazing news!x
