Line eyes!! Accidental pregnancy test!

Hey girls, so today I went to have an ovulation test which to my surprise came back positive (which is rare with me) and in my panic I thought I'd test again with a more expensive piece of kit which I later found out was actually a pregnancy test. Results are below for ovulation strip and pregnancy test.

Maybe this is a clearer picture of the pregnancy one

Hmm I can't actually see anything on the pregnancy test. Maybe try again in the morning?

echodot · 19/08/2020 14:48

Hey, really sorry but there's no line there

kittenpeak · 19/08/2020 14:50

Also, it's very unlikely you are pregnant if you have just had a strong ovulation result. I would try again in the morning just to be sure, but I would say you aren't pregnant

ReiRiko · 19/08/2020 14:57

Thanks for lending me your eyes! I will try again tomorrow morning! I really hope this is it for me!! Been trying for almost 3 years for a first pregnancy! I'm on CD the 19 now and my period predictor app is saying my period is due tomorrow based on my very short cycle last month. I had 2 days of brown spotting CD14/15 which completely went away after. That's why I'm so hopeful 😭

I can see a faint line. What kind of test was it? Try a first response 🤞

Curiosity101 · 19/08/2020 15:59

I think I see a hint of something on the pregnancy test but unfortunately it's too faint to be conclusive. I would recommend a FRER with FMU either tomorrow or ideally the day after.

But... Whenever I've seen a positive OPK with a positive HPT they tend to be similar looking in strength. So my guess is that you're just seeing your LH peak and will be ovulating in 24 hours or so from now.

Good luck, my fingers are crossed for you.

Curiosity101 · 19/08/2020 16:01

Just to add, if you have any more OPKs then you could always save your money and retest tomorrow with an OPK. If it's noticeably weaker then that would also confirm that today's OPK was picking up your LH surge.

restingbface · 19/08/2020 22:53

I can see a very faint line on the 2nd photo you uploaded x

Sophielou8 · 19/08/2020 23:17

The reason I found out I was pregnant was because I had strong positive ovulation tests 6 days in a row so tested and here I am.. pregnant

calimommy · 20/08/2020 06:26

Random positive OPK can absolutely mean you are pregnant, that's how I found out about this pregnancy, but your HPT looks negative, at least from the photos you took.

ty1996 · 20/08/2020 09:28

Definitely a line in the third picture you posted, fingers crossed

ty1996 · 20/08/2020 09:30

I messed around with your photos (hope you don't mind) a bit and can 100% see a line x

@Curiosity101 I tried another OPK this morning and it still seems similar to what I had yesterday. Unfortunately I ran out of HPTs (which is typical when you need it most!!!). I will be getting more today and hopefully test in the afternoon and then tomorrow morning. Not sure if I should just wait till tomorrow morning... the wait is killing me!!

@Sophielou8 omg thanks for sharing!! I have plenty of OPKs to test with on the daily so I'm hoping the lines stay strong for a while!

@ty1996 THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR EDITING MY PHOTOS!!! I can definitely see a line now and I'm FREAKING OUt. I ran out of HPTs but will get more soon so I can retest as soon as I get home!

I think it's one of those Sainsbury's ones that come in a 2 pack. I'm not entirely sure as I threw away the package. I will be getting early response ones today for sure if I can find any at Boots!

Fingers crossed, if your OPK is similar in colour to the one from yesterday then that's a fantastic sign for pregnancy rather than ovulation.

Looking forward to seeing your update later/tomorrow. 🤞

gamerchick · 20/08/2020 11:32

That pregnancy test is negative OP. Wishing you all the best for the result you want on the next one.

ReiRiko · 20/08/2020 13:32

@Curiosity101 I just got a FRER which came out negative at 13:15 🙄 I'm really discouraged now... I guess maybe a tiny bit of hope for FMU... I'm so disappointed 😔 My OPK which I did at the same time was very much positive again... don't know what to think tbh... for how long am I supposed to get a positive OPK?

@gamerchick thank you lovely 🙏

OP posts:
Curiosity101 · 20/08/2020 13:59

Is the FRER definitely definitely negative? Do you have a picture, and/or pictures of the OPKs?

It's definitely unusual to get multiple positive OPKs in a row.

loubieloo4 · 20/08/2020 14:08

I can see a very faint line, good luck

AllTheWhoresOfMalta · 20/08/2020 14:09

Have another look at the FR because with DD2 when I tested a week before period was due (because I felt off and sick) it was negative, but when I returned an hour later there was a line. I know they say to ignore any line that comes up later, but I found that it was the first sign she was on her way.

ReiRiko · 20/08/2020 14:10

@Curiosity101 these are the ones I did today at 13:15.

@loubieloo4 thank you for the encouragement!

@AllTheWhoresOfMalta oh wow I should keep checking them then! I've always kept them around but I thought it invalidated the results if you look at them after so long. That's really encouraging! I will definitely keep it in mind!

@kittenpeak

Also, it's very unlikely you are pregnant if you have just had a strong ovulation result. I would try again in the morning just to be sure, but I would say you aren't pregnant
This isn’t true. A positive OPK can be an indication of an LH surge or it could be picking up HCG. They shouldn’t be taken as a definite positive for pregnancy though as you can have multiple LH surges throughout the month.
BeingATwatItsABingThing · 20/08/2020 14:25

@ReiRiko

I can see a very faint line on your second picture of the pregnancy test. Definitely test again with FMU. Try and wait 48 hours if you can but I know how hard that is.

Also, do try not to look at the tests after the time. I always did this but it’s more likely you’ll mistake an evap for a positive if you look after the test has dried. I had a couple of tests where I could see a line after the time but I wasn’t pregnant and it only got my hopes up for them to be dashed again.
