@Blossom428 perhaps sometimes you get a really sudden surge? Fingers crossed it happens when you need it to!
@AnxiousAnnie86 well on that subject.... my right boob is sore too now!!! What is this madness? I mean it'll turn out to be nothing but that's a first, since TTC anyway!

Trying4one · 29/09/2020 19:36

I am only 2dpo but my mind is playing tricks on me. Metallic taste in my mouth yesterday and gone off fish I normally like. It is way too early to get symptoms. Why is my body being mean 😭

TheOrangeMonster · 29/09/2020 20:57

@Trying4one bodies like to do that - it's all psychological witchery! You're right - physically impossible to have symptoms until at least 6dpo at the earliest - minds play such crappy tricks though don't they!

Trying4one · 29/09/2020 21:33

@TheOrangeMonster they really do. It did it to me last cycle too. I am not going to get excited about about symptoms and just going to wait until at least 10dpo to test

TheOrangeMonster · 29/09/2020 22:07

@Trying4one good plan.
Actually form experience I'd leave it until you think you've missed your period to test, 10dpo is still early enough that you can't trust the result and you'll just make yourself crazy. Buuuut I know that urge to pee in a stick 🤣🤣

AnxiousAnnie86 · 29/09/2020 22:19

@TheOrangeMonster I agree I won't test ever before period! Just can't deal with the agonising over a test! If it's negative 14dpo then chances are it's really negative 😂

Trying4one · 29/09/2020 22:28

@TheOrangeMonster @AnxiousAnnie86 but that means waiting 12 days 😫 testing times. I am going to need to distract myself 😂

TheOrangeMonster · 30/09/2020 12:56

@Trying4one yup, sorry! That's the TWW for you!
Think of it as saving yourself money in tests, you won't trust the result until after 14dpo anyway so why waste them?

How is everyone doing today? I know there's a need to take our minds off things, so I have a suggestion....maybe we could all share one thing we are looking forward to in the next week/month, that's totally unrelated to TTC?

Mine is taking a week off work in October and doing some really lovely long walks.

Blossom428 · 30/09/2020 13:02

Love this bit of positivity @TheOrangeMonster

I'm having a new bathroom fitted next week (currently just have a shower) and I can't waittttt for a bath! They are just my zone out place! 2 years in this house without one has been too much!

OP posts:
TheOrangeMonster · 30/09/2020 13:29

@Blossom428 yessss to baths! Nothing compares!

Trying4one · 30/09/2020 15:50

@TheOrangeMonster I might be having a socially distanced curry with a couple of colleagues who.i haven't seen in ages next Friday. Will be lovely to see them. I will be 12dpo then so will need an excuse as to why I am not drinking 😂😂

TheOrangeMonster · 30/09/2020 16:37

@Trying4one not drinking is your business, if people ask me I usually laugh it off and say "why, should I be?"
Curry sounds awesome! Does this place do good naan bread? I always feel like that's the mark of a great curry house - sometimes they're really dry.

Trying4one · 30/09/2020 16:45

@TheOrangeMonster this isn't my local (which does a huge naan, bugger than your face 😂) but I have been there once before and it was good then. Garlic naan used to be my go top but I always end up have peshwari now. Last time me and my colleagues went we went given loads of free Bailey's, I was drunk by 8pm 😂😂😂 I will drive so got a reason without them giving me the side eye 😂

TheOrangeMonster · 30/09/2020 18:40

@Trying4one I used to order keema naan and then regret it - far too much food. I am now also team peshwari.
Haha Bailey's and curry....interesting combination 🤣

Trying4one · 30/09/2020 19:13

@TheOrangeMonster haha I know. To be fair, it was after the meal so was kind of a dessert.

WaitingForEgg · 30/09/2020 21:39

@AnxiousAnnie86 CD 14... I’m trying to be more relaxed about it... I’m not sure how that will work out in all honesty. Really hope I don’t have another insanely long cycle

We have bought a house that needs renovating and get the keys Monday. I don’t know if this will be a good distraction or a nightmare for stress haha

How are you getting on?

Blossom428 · 01/10/2020 09:41

Third day flashing smiley for me.
I've stopped taking the vitamin b complex from today, as sometimes it can push it back.

Hi lovelies,
So a bit of an update - I had another telephone consultation with the doctor this morning and she was really nice. My urine came back normal for infection but I've still not come on my period and I still have the symptoms.. I 100% want to be pregnant but I honestly don't think I am due to all the negative tests.. Usually when I have negative tests I come on straight away - so my body is just being cruel this month! Anyway, doctor said I need to go in for a blood test (in 2 weeks as it's the only time they could do 🙄) so hopefully I'll come 9n in the meantime! Annoying! Hope everyone is ok xxx

TheOrangeMonster · 01/10/2020 11:05

@bwfcchick88 is that a "day 21"? That's what I'm having later today. It's to check the balance of your hormones, they can tell if you've ovulated or not.

bwfcchick88 · 01/10/2020 11:13

I'm not sure? According to Flo, I'm on day 80 of my cycle and am 46 days late for AF! Confusing! I hope it goes well for you later x

TheOrangeMonster · 01/10/2020 11:21

@bwfcchick88 I think it probably will be. They call it "day 21" because they base it on a normal 28 day cycle. Day 21 is a week after the standard ovulation date. In reality it's whatever day could be a week after ovulation. In my case it'll be 10 days after ovulation, day 31. If it is this type of test, in your case, they'll check to see if you have elevated levels of progesterone, among other things, consistent with being in the luteal phase. They'll be able to tell you if you have ovulated yet or not and if you haven't you might be offered a course of progesterone tablets to trigger a bleed. It's the drop in progesterone after a rise which causes your period.
I know it's really hard not to stress, because I've been there before myself, but honestly, stressing about it can mess with your hormones so much and actually prolong the issue. Stress directly affects the hypothalamus, which is the area of the brain dealing with hormone production. When you're stressed, you produce a hormone called CRH, which has been found to negatively impact the body's ability to generate the LH surge necessary to ovulate.

bwfcchick88 · 01/10/2020 11:51

Thanks @TheOrangeMonster, that's really helpful to know. Weirdly, before all this, I actually felt not stressed for the first time in ages, but it has been playing on my mind a bit. Frustrating, eh? Hopefully I'll get answers soon (and fingers crossed for AF to show).

Blossom428 · 02/10/2020 08:15

@AnxiousAnnie86 how are you doing? Is your temp still up?

OP posts:
AnxiousAnnie86 · 03/10/2020 07:40

@Blossom428 no it only went up for two days so can't of ovulated :( which is super annoying! Cd22 here x
